My daughter bought me some hemp wick for my birthday a few years ago when I began this Alternative Medicine journey (I now think Big Pharma should be called Alternative Medicine and MM should be mainstream). I asked her about the potency of the hemp wick (I thought I was supported to smoke it) and she just about cried with laughter. I love when being a dumb ass tickles others, it is so humbling and extra hilarious.
Are you going to end up on our West Coast Sue? Perhaps that's your destination even if you haven't decided yet! I love your prayer beads and that life story. You seem to be very similar to my oldest sister in very many ways (as least what I can know of Susan from a web forum!). Thanks for keeping your head in this game, thanks for unselfishly helping people like me, and a big thanks for spending so much of your time trying to make 420Magazine the best source of information for MM on the IntraWebs.
It's time for a Hash making session tonight, a process I've honed and refined to my liking. I was thinking of making CO with the Hash, I haven't tried that yet. Yield will be low, but that's OK at this point in time, I've built up enough reserves for a little while. Would the resultant product be called CHO ... Cannabis Hash Oil if I use only Hash? Maybe I'm just being stupid, or but perhaps it might work really well, but I'll never know unless I give my best effort.

This was such a delightful read and left me feeling very humble. Thank you JB. I'm hoping for Colorado. Beyond that hope is a willingness to go wherever the universe directs me. I made a pact with them that I won't fight it when the message comes that it's time. Until then I grow joyfully right where I'm planted.
I believe it's called hash oil. I like the sound of Cannabis Hash Oil myself. Good luck with it. Please document and post on the study hall. I'm doing a cold VG tincture with the Dark Devil Auto. Post to follow.
I'm really impressed with both of them. I'm probably going to need to move them into a larger pot earlier than I planned. It's gonna get tight in the veg tent.

Tinctures: Dark Devil Auto
I've been reading up on tinctures, considering that this may work well for me and be an alternative to brownies. A cold tincture takes anywhere from 60 - 120 days, and made wit vegetable glycerin lends the tastiest tincture. Dark Devil Auto has to be the tastiest strain around. The buds alone are delicious. I think she's a great one for a tincture.
I loosely filled a jar with lightly chopped buds. It came to 10 grams. Into the oven for about 15 min at 200 degrees F to dry out and then out of the oven while it resets to 245 degrees F. Then back in for another 30 minutes to decarb.
Add glycerin slowly as you stir with a wooden spoon to get every bit of the plant material coated.
Add a bit more glycerin. Give it a gentle shake and find a storage area.
To be agitated a couple times a day until done.
Stored over here in my work corner I'll be more likely to remember to agitate it.
Covered to block the light and easy to get to.
I'm giving it at least two months before I check it with the intention of letting it go a full four months in the end. I'm looking forward to testing it out. This will take more patience than I typically demonstrate.

Whew! Coming in under the wire here today. Sorry guys, I got seriously distracted by life today. According to my records, nothing got done in the garden today other than admire the growth and some minor training. Let's start out in the veg tent.
I got my soft wire today so I replaced the string restraints on Strawberry Blue (Day 38) with the gentler embrace of soft wire.
Geez, she's gonna be huge, isn't she? What a beauty already.
Crossroads ( Day 24) got some serious tucking done. I can't believe how bushy this plant is! Shiva Shanti ll (Day 17) is struggling to stay in there. Crossroads 2 (Day 18), at the bottom of the picture, has more available space. Interesting to watch.
Super Cheese (Day 24) got her second ponytail treatment. Time to remove it actually. Be right back ......... OK, all done for the day.

Cajun warned me this one wasn't a big yielder. I'm seeing what he may have alluded to. Not a lot going on under here.

The CBD cousins. They're at Day 100. Critical Mass (on the left) is flip + 17, Critical Cure is flip + 35 and 3 days from her second CAT. Both plants smell now. It's absolutely divine when I stick my head in there.
Zamaldelica (Day 4) didn't want to be photographed today.
Carnival (Day 33)
DDA2 (Day 38) got her restraints adjusted.
Im trying to give these lower branches a chance to get up here and play with the rest of the crew.
That's it for me today. I'm gonna get a good buzz on now and listen to some music before bed. Maybe I'll wander some. I haven't been to Canna and nismo's all day. Let me correct that after my buzz is established.

Back to your wick question and how to put it out:
I'm a two hoot (bowls) kinda guy. Meaning I need two hoots to make my day. I've recently learned that I can leave the wick lit and up right and it burns slowly like a candle. So I leave it lit and tend to my second bowl duties while its lit. Then go at it again.
When I first purchased the stuff I found it a bit cumbersome to light with a lighter then light the bowl then put it out. There's nothing worse than filling your lungs up with a large hoot and then panic as you hang onto the glass bong with one hand and the burning ball of wax in the other. It can be a bit crazy at times but I just light my bowl and leave it lit until I come back down from my special place and can extinguish it properly.

I'm apparently warming up to it. I'll be happier when it's a bit more second nature, but so far, I'm pretty relaxed and instinctive about it. You and Jay are excellent examples to follow.

I was a push-over mom. The children could always argue a strong case and get away with murder with me. Learning to train takes more emotional effort than you'd think. Lol! My whole being wants to let them run wild, but the practical side of me remembers the cost of maintaining that real estate, so I press on. I can't bring myself to do supercropping. I know just what you mean! I was looking at the lighter/wick holders with interest. Anyone have experience with those? I'll try leaving it lit. That actually sounds like a smart idea. I've actually settled on snuffing the flame with my fingers, but it's a hassle relighting every time. I broke my little bubbler yesterday so I ordered a small glass bong. It should be here beginning of next week. I couldn't help thinking of you as I was ordering. Can't wait to break it in with one of your videos.

Now they will misbehave and go wonky time lol. It's like when the windshield wipers match the beat of a song for just a few seconds then they are all weird again. Have a great Saturday Sue. Made dry ice kief, then soaked it in ethanol, then dried it in a water bath. Currently mind blown. Shatter. A little contaminated with chlorophyll but I didn't take time to freeze the ethanol or buds like I normally do.
