The Mountain: Grow Support From The Over 50 Club

It's just like clockwork every year, but I still thought that I should pass on the warning. Beans are also going down quickly for those of you who have been putting Auto flowers out in bean fields. It's going to be a fast Fall with those hidden partial shade grows getting a big dose of light right when they need it. But this also means you need to make sure that your camouflaging of plants is up to snuff. Best of luck in all you grow!

That's a lot bigger than a 4x4 tent canyon. What kind of trees are you growing? I had a nice avocado that was about 7 ft tall that died when I topped it. Also growing two orange trees that I started indoors from seed. They are doing nicely but still no oranges after four years.

I have a separate veg cabinet so if I'm not running 12 12 from seed I will veg up to 12 plants at a time.

I run a 600w hps and a 250w UFO led in the veg cabinet.

Sparks, If you did any work from say Orem south in the last 40 years, we have probably talked to some of the same people.

Is there a place we can string some post together sometime without boring everyone here? I am still on probation here and about to get kicked out for posting too much.

I sort of bailed in 04 and did not keep up. Sad, to here.

Dang! That big beautiful Griego del Oro (biggest plant in the room) grew balls! I don't get fooled often and the brother of this sprouted balls weeks ago! I was sure this one was a female too! Oh well. A nice big plant for the compost bin.

I have a Blue Lotus that will finish in the next week or so . It's the one on the table that's in full bloom. It smells like gardenias x with hibiscus. I could sit and smell that girl all day! The big cola on the plant in the back corner is a mystery strain that is crossed with God Bud. It smells like Pepe la Pew! (road killed skunk)

Llama, No trees, I do have a calla lily though.

Small flower room, large vege with necessities stacked around the sides here. This should give you some idea what I am doing.

I want to ask some things about your ducting latter, it can wait. A also have sage n sour, girl scout cookies and something labeled hash skank. anything after 12/4 is new to me except the blue dream and a SLH that came from another source. Best

Truthfully Canyon, I seldom pay attention to the strain of the month. I breed my own seeds and trade seeds with other breeders around the country. I'll only buy commercial seeds if I am looking for some specific trait or genetics that I haven't been able to trade for.(A landrace Malawi Gold from Seeds of Africa were the last seeds I purchased because I wanted the landrace sativa as a foundation strain.
I do admit to having a hankering for some Cheese but haven't been able to trade for that yet. I was in Ft Collins last December and sampled a lot of the popular strains. The only one that really stood out was the Grilled Cheese Sandwich strain. All the rest were really good strains and there was nothing bad about them, I just grow stuff that is as good or better. I normall smoke sativas during the day so as I said yesterday, I get chatty.

Nice to see someone also interested in Malawi Gold, I grew her last year outdoor and got very potent bud. I still have some actually cause I only smoke it when party with some more people. I find it too speedy to enjoy on a quiet afternoon at home :cheesygrinsmiley: But otherwise absolutely amazing bud :tokin: There are not a lot of buds out there that get you high for 4-5 hrs, and this one does :tokin: I grow some more landraces this season, Colombian Punto Roja from Cannabiogen looks very promising so far.

Gee my year of suck continues apace. We have pictured here for your perusal a clone potted one month transplanted to present container two weeks ago. It is an Ice Grapefruit in fox farms OC under two LEDs a 280 watt and a 300 at 2 - 2.6 feet from canopy. > clone cut at 11 days into flower rooted in eight days. Significant? What produces a one fingered leaf?
My plan is to have some tea and carry on but is it too stressed and I should find thy scythe?

I have a Colombian Gold just started. I do like my sativas. I bred the Malawi Gold last year and ended up with a LOT of seeds.

Weird I could not edit above. The website said I wasn't logged in !?!?!? Anyways logged in five times to post this hope it works
Lamma check out John mcphees book oranges. Short read big wide ranging information in the narrative form. All of our oranges here are grafted to wild lemon root stock and I've never have grown from seed so can't go further than that but having read the book I understand why so many printings have been made as it is excellent.

It's a little interesting story on the orange trees. I have a cousin who lives in Corpus Christi and I bagged a bunch of the sweetest oranges off the tree in her backyard a few years ago. Anyway I kept a handful of seeds and pit them in a jar. 4 years ago I stuck them in dirt and I ended up with six little trees. I gave all but two away and have been growing them ever since. They were in a south facing window but I moved them into the grow room last year and they are growing beautifully. They have never flowered so I don't know if I'll get fruit from them.

What is this forums policy on trading seeds?

I don't really care to be honest, I just exchange them with other users :tokin:
Speaking of seeds, my Ultra Dog F2 are growing, pollination went very well.

Ultra dog? Is that an Alpha Kronik strain. They had a bunch of 'Dog' strains a while back. I grew one of their strains a while back and it was pretty decent, albeit indica dominant.
I trade seeds all the time and have some interesting stuff. If you or anybody has a hankering to do some swapping, send me a PM.

No, man :laughtwo: It's a private strain done in SoCal by my biker buddy. He received a NYCD/Chemdawg '91 cross from Soma, where he found an exceptional male, he never saw w female of it really :laughtwo: Then he pollinated few of his best clones including Grape Ape, Jack Herer, some weird skunk, and Aurora Ultra (which I'm also growing). The cross with Aurora Ultra (OG Kush/MK Ultra x Aurora Indica) I started calling Ultra Dog before I even smoked it :tokin: I don't know how much of indica or sativa it's gonna be, but most of these crosses lean on the indica side. I pollinated with my best male cause he just sent me 11 seeds, and he lost the rest, so I had to do everything to keep the genetics :smokin2:

I just started a run with some Nor Cal strains, Mendo Purps, PPK, and Iranian G13. This is a grow and see (and smoke). I'll breed them if I like them. I have a couple of breeding projects scheduled for this winter. I want to feminize the Malawi Gold which is number one priority. I've been hunting for some Cheese strains and I'd really like to get some Vietnamese Black to cross with the Kali Mist

Ace Seeds crew keeps hands on some great Vietnam Black mother, but they won't release this line commercially. I grew their Orient Express which is Vietnam Black x China Yunnan leaning on sativa side, and it's really nice smoke but with a lot of indica heaviness, however very stimulating. They also released Thai x Vietnam Black which you can probably still shop around, I've been looking this way, and almost bought the seeds, but I went for Colombian Punto Roja and Jarilla de Sinaloa for this season instead :smokin2:

I think this is perfect thread to contribute for 50 Club and The Mountain members! We need whatever you can provide: stories, memories, pics, links, smoke reports!
