The Mega Crop Thread

@Greenleaf Nutrients also here is something i found about UV light and different chelating agents that can help keep nutrrienbts chelated under uv light .

just a question would it be possableto use other chelates that would enable better nutrient solubility under hydroponics systems with UV in there filters like my own the reason i dont use it at the moment is cause of it causes the breakdown of chelate's so nutrients can fall out of solution , i havent found a cheap solution to get fulvic acid as they also re-chelate nutrients the bond with so i could use a fulvic acid addative if i can find one sutable for hydroponics in liquad form or powder form as long as it does not have humic like my last fulvic acid did as that clogged my roots up they all went black and looked like black noodles lol and the plants started to wither and produce nutrient deficencies which was the oposite of what it was ment to do .

thanks for the info and keep up the good work ,

so i can buy a bag of one part for my next grow and try it out see how i go?. the myth of alot of p in cannbis fertilizers is why it does not have a high P ratio ?

and also when i go into flower my leaves are going rusty spotted and fading to yellow like they are at the end of flower and as i use the 2 part plus your bud explosion addative and acording to mixing guides you have online i need 60g of part a and 50g of part b and then i can add 22g of with first flower doage of bud explosion. i am trhinking of just doing both 60g for part a and part b with 22 of bud explosion as its either natrogen or calcium or magnesium or manganese calcium addative adds calcium and mangesium but to increase manganese i would need to increase part A so i dont think its that its more calcium, magnesium or nitrogen , i thought it may be heat and light burn but my leaves are only 24-26c with tent roughly about 1c lower than leaf temp so its not cause of the light causing topo much heat on the leaves .

i was thinnking

1-4 weeks veg dose of part and b no bud explosion
4-8 weeks flower dose of part a part b ( at moment i am putting in bud explosion in this stage )
6-8 weeks flower dosage of part a and b and low dosage of bud explosion
8-10 weeks flower dosage of part a and b and higher late flower dosage of bud explosion

i have only used you nutrients the last 3 grows the 1 part did well alway through but took time to desolve as you said . but know the last 1 and half grows i have used part a and b with bud explosion and like i say the leaves go yellow and have rusty spots which started since i used this two part and i think its cause i am dosing flower nuts too early maybe not use bud explosion till starting mid flower or keeping the ratio of part b higher instead i am stuck between those two options and can only really sort it next grow the damage is done now i can only try and stop it getting worse whch is hopefull when i get my new rdwc setup later today and do the nutrients i will put the same ratio of a and b and add early flower bud explsion which untill i get the new system and now how many litres it is all together i wont know till then . but lets say its my current system i will put part a 60g and part b 60g and budx i will use the early flower dosage which would be 22. which raises my nitrogen and clacium by 10 g which will hopefully be the reason for the rusty spots and yellowing.
A good ratio for PK and cannabis is between 1/3 and 1/2, towards the lower end during veg, and higher end during flower. From all the science I have seen and from plant tissue analysis, for cannabis this is basically what they want.

Almost all of our products follow these guidelines, which also work well for tomatoes, vegetables and other fruiting plants.

@Greenleaf Nutrients , yea i used the last of the first bag of 1 part on my garden cause it got wet and very gooey so i purchased the 2 part and put it in air tight food containers and its fine , i am think cause i am giving flower nutes as soon as i switch to flowering i am doing it too early so should give it a week after i switch lights to 12/12 before lowering the part b of the 2 part as instructed on the label , going to have to experiment a bit thats all as i think i am getting the ratios wrong for the timeline of the plant as it grows in early flower.

@Greenleaf Nutrients , yrau u used the last of the fiorst bag of 1 part on my garden cause it got wet and very gooey so i purchased the 2 part and put it in air tight food containers and its fine , i am think cause i am giving flower nutes as soon as i switch to flowering i am doing it too early so should give it a week after i switch lights to 12/12 before lowering the part b of the 2 part as instructed on the label , going to have to experiment a bit thats all as i think i am getting the ratios wrong for the timeline of the plant aas it grows in early flower.
if you noticed "pale leaves" I would suggest bumping up the dosage a bit of the base nutrient. The base nutrient should take care of that issue.

The reason it will turn into "goo" is from moisture getting in (not properly sealed) and/or heat exposure and high humidity.

i call horseshit and i am the one who started this thread.

my megacrop was in a sealed container and my rh is sitting at 15%. it still turned into goo. super pissed off.

edit: it was also stored in an unheated cool dry closet.

ok so your saying when i alter the ratio to 60g part a and 50g part b i should increase it to say 65g part a and 55g part b in a way. or maybe 70g and 60g. i thought you ment altering part A only sorry.

i am just a simplton i dont under stand some of the sicnce and all the ratios each nutreint brand gives different ratios using the same ingrediants one says one thing another says another , i am not questioning you just laying out what its like out there. if i could put my back garden soil in a blender and make a nutrient smoothy and give them that i would do that lol which aparrently you can with knf but thats alot of different buckets in your back garden which needs space lol, eg if cannabis grows on tomato plant fertilizer then knf a full tomato plant including fruit or do seperate stems, leaf roots in one and tomatos in another and you got veg and flower lol and let the plantand use that lol. a bit more complicated than that though.

can i ask you a theory since your into the science i wanted to use UV on the inlet of my filter as it is built in but dont cause it can cause the chelates to decay, if i could put fulvic acid in although the light does break it down any fulvic not broken down in the system would hopefully rebind to the unchelated nutrients in theory as aparently this is what fulvic does in nature .

I'm 3/4 of the way through a 25# bag and haven't had any issues...

As soon as it arrived I divided it up into four parts and put that into food grade freezer bags and put them into plastic tobacco containers.

My daily use is in a single serving frozen wonton soup plastic container. Open and close every day..

I do make a point of pressing down on the lid to create a negative pressure in the container after every use.....

The residue on the loading cone of my coffee grinder does turn "brown" but hasn't been an issue.

Cheers

i had to laugh cause i only left the top off one day in my kitchen no cooking done or anything and it looked dry when i re sealed it untill the next day it was a gooey mess brown sediment and sludge lol with big clumps stuck together and the more you tried to break it up the worse it became . so gave up i might as well been nuting with massive deformed sugar lumps lol ;) . sorry

why are you buying fertilizer to put into containers, then to what seems like a curing burp process??? and also grinding said soluble fertilizer? :thedoubletake::laugh::yahoo:

so ... heads up for anyone using this stuff. it goes bad over time. megacrop is hydrophilic, meaning it attracts water. this is great for mixing the stuff but a disaster for storing it.

this is what it turns into over time ...

completely unusable. absolutely useless. it looks like brownie batter.

it was stored in a sealed container in an unheated closet at 15% rh. i am very unimpressed.

if you use this stuff make sure it is stored very carefully. this stuff was old, and i'm not sure mega crop can be kept long term. keep that in mind.

i've got some other product that was stored at my folks place, i'm hoping it didn't go bad.

25#'s is years worth of product and the bag it comes in is not resealable...

Every time I take some out of my daily use container I try to remove as much air and moisture as possible when closing it... That keeps it from clumping before I use it all.

One of the ingredients (can't remember which one) comes as small balls. Since I am mixing in small batches I was concerned I wasn't getting the right ratio of balls to powder, hence grinding large batches.

Wow, seems like you need a new sealed container :yahoo:

How long did it take to do that ?

Cheers

You had to make me look, didn't you ?

think i'd get a little respect outta the sponsor. they have a tendency to go super quiet if something is "difficult".

I have a couple smaller bags of MC1, Sea kelp, Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy, so far none have gone to goo. I have had them since October 2024. I keep them sealed in Zip-loc gallon bags with a desiccant dry pack in each one for safe keeping. So far no issues. I guess after 5 years in storage, products would start to deteriorate some no matter what, but unsure of how useful it would be after 5 years or more either, as many nutrients/chemicals start to change over time.

Everything I've got (above) has been kept UNsealed in their original bags, and only the MC went gooey. I still use it...basically for houseplants and stuff and I pour some into a gallon container and go by the resultant color to base my strength on.

they've been champion to use until now. i kept the bulk in a 2.5 gallon sealed pail. we divided it into separate containers for use. i ran 2 spaces at different locations.

we put the stuff we used daily into empty coconut oil containers with screw top lids. they've been sufficient until now. one container has noticeably deteriorated over time to the point it is not usable. i am not sure of the other.

there is still some in the main larger sealed pail. i'm going to check on its condition and hopefully i can get a grow going.
