The Mega Crop Thread

My gosh... things move fast in these parts. Leave for a bit and hopelessly behind.

I have been doing an experiment adding Cal/Mag to one of my clones along with MC and the other clone just gets MC. I am somewhere around six weeks into flowering I figure and besides a bit less leaf yellowing I don't see much bud difference. Not over yet but my early expectation is that Cal/Mag isn't really beneficial with MC.

Here is my latest report if anyone cares to see. Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

Hiya Homer... who said it was beneficial? Calmag is added only to help a plant that is deficient if Calcium or Magnesium. There would be no difference in the overall quality of bud or trich production by adding it throughout the grow.

I guess I just ass-u-me-d. My leaves in the second half of flowering tend to yellow in a way that looks like a calmag deficiency so I tried adding it in flower.

Maybe I misunderstood you Homer. I was thinking it was N you were referring to and not Ca or Mg.

I think it's a common assumption Homer and nothing to worry about. Calmag has Nitrogen in it and varies with each manufacturer. It's primary function is to boost the Ca requirements that a plant needs throughout flowering, for the most part. The Mg part of it is used during the veg stage where plants may show a Mg deficiency. But it will never correct an N def as there's not enough in it to correct that.
Thanks, partner, I always learn something from your nute posts. I have pretty much accepted my yellowing near harvest is just a natural part of the plant's life cycle. Some may disagree with this but I am getting pretty good results with my yellowing plants.

I found this pic and headline on this webpage. Why Cannabis Leaves Turn Yellow | Grow Weed Easy. My plants don't look any worse than this.

Plant is Ready to Harvest – Normal
Often plants will have a few yellow leaves by harvest time! This is completely normal and nothing to worry about as long as you’ve ruled out bud rot!

@Homer Simpson if it helps, a Mg def starts from the bottom and works it's way up. There will be burning and blotching on the leaves. N def also starts from the bottom and works it's way up, but it's a yellow fade, no burning tips or brown spots. Mg defs the tips will burn and curl.

Hmmm. My yellowing does start at the bottom and works its way up with blotching so it does seem like Mg. You are probably right about it not affecting buds but since I have gone this far I am going to continue to give the one plant Calmag. Thanks for the input. :)

Moving along

All running mc n theu loving life no bugs yayyyyy super happy hate those mofos

You are killing it Jack! Kudo's to ya bud. What are you hoping to pull per site after it's all dried clipped and cured?

Here is my Bagseed Birthday Cake.
Hoping for a girl....

Still too small for any real nute sauce but I tossed 1g into the 10 gallon system just so I can sleep at night. Those are the new 6 gallon dwc buckets so we will see how they do.

If I get one girl I'll turn her into my mother. If I get twin girls I'll mother the strongest and flower the weaker of the two. If I get boys I guess that's nature's way of telling me to lay off cake for a bit.

I put the Biscotti stump in there as well with a wee bit of veg left on it. Hope it produces some cloneable growth. It was the one plant that purpled up

I wish I had more to contribute to this thread other than a garden biography but I'm just not anywhere near as knowledgeable on the subject as most of you are. I'm more of a electromechanical nerd.

We can learn though! I started my electromechanical training back in 1969. You know, back when the active components still had heaters? Transistors were just coming on the market, and computers occupied a large room, some half an acre or more.

Punchcards! You all are taking me way back, but not far enough! :Rasta:

I love pics @FatBeaverBuds ! Don't ever stop.

We used to use the bits from punchcards as confetti and fill empty eggshells with it to crack on folks heads!

I got angry at the other shift one night and shuffled the IPL bootstrap deck for the Honeywell / Bull Model 58 on them. They were still trying to boot the computer when I arrived for my shift. I was the only one that thought it was important enough to have a backup.
