The Mega Crop Thread

It's when you try pass the particles through the drippers that I have the problems. The openings are tiny, the flow rate is slow and the particles build up in front of the opening until it's completely clogged.

Everything else works with my system. The pump remains clear, the lines seem to be good, it's just at the end of the line that I have the problem.

GLN has stated that they are coming out with a two part system that may be better suited for my use. I'll just have to wait and see.

I'm using open ends on mine, with the exception of the one dutch bucket I'm messing with. It's using the floraflex rings (that go with their round drip trays) and seem to be doing alright so far. If need be, I can make the holes a tick bigger.

Look at this response....do you even contradict BRO?

I'm glad they're better at making nutes than math.

when i feed i use a couple measuring cups, since i essentially do it by formula. i dip one cup into the feed water, and use the other to measure before pouring in the watering can...

Dayum... I need some fancy fiskar rubbers like that!

I'm on Los Angeles tap water and have no residue in my bucket after mixing, nor in the gallon milk jugs 3 days later with 45-50º F nights. Nor do I microwave.

i only zap it to speed stuff up.
i get the same results if i just mix and let it sit longer.

i don't get how some folk wind up with the sahara in their mix.
it would frustrate me too. i'd still use it in hempy tho, it's just too cheap and easy lol.... :bongrip:

that's the hydrocloricized acidicized flouride in yer water,, i looked it up

I don't doubt the results everyone is posting. I bought mine in Aug 2019. The timing and marking on the bag indicate that I have V2. I'm wondering if mine is from a different batch than many here have, or if it's something else.

I've tried adding the CALiMAGic before and after the MC. I adjust the pH to between 5.9 and 6.2 after mixing. My water is at about 21°C or 70°F when I mix it, and drops to about 16°C / 60°F before I start feeding. TDS from the RO is 16 PPM, and the pH is 7.2.

Yep. When you're messing with a ton of water, it makes complete sense.

It probably doesn't matter and you can just keep it powder like it is.
If you insist on some other method, you can also make a liquid concentrate:
100g into 1L water
shake well
each 10ml will be 1g of Mega Crop evenly.

Making a concentrated solution of Mega Crop DOES NOT WORK as advertised. I wasted my entire "Free Sample" trying that method at different concentrations. I use the sediment filled quart jar as a door stop. Somewhere earlier in the tread is a picture of the jar. I could run upstairs and take another picture of it 7 months later, but what is the point.

Hmmm would be interesting to see that....and on top of that i asked how long it would last and the answer was...."A LONG TIME" I only make it a day before if i plan to water in the morning.

I believe i have v2 as well since i received my mc about 3 weeks ago

The current version (more like a v2.5) started shipping mid August. Like the 18th? 19th? Something like that. For a while, and maybe still, they were using up the v2 bags with the updated formula inside. I ordered a 22lb bag back in September, but can't remember what was on the bag. Nutes went into a big tupperware type container, slowly, and that was that.

Hey guys, so I made the switch to MC awhile ago... kind of regretting it... It’s pretty good stuff, but it’s no better then bottled nutrients in my opinion... worse actually... I miss having complete control over my nutrients, it just doesn’t seem right adding a scoop and having no clue as to the actual levels of what I’m putting in lol ... To me this is just a nutrient line for beginners and makes it so ANYONE can grow weed despite skill level which is awesome but idk if it’s for me... I’m gonna finish off the bag but I doubt I’ll be reinvesting. The only thing that has me baffled is that none of you seem to need cal-mag... no bullshit EVERY plant I started with MC is SCREAMING for cal-mag and I can’t feed it the levels it needs because it goes straight into a nitrogen toxicity lol... to me this is a huge flaw... maybe I just need to keep working with it but idk.... so now as a last ditch effort I scoured the internet to find the ONLY nutrient I could that only has calcium, magnesium, and iron... nothing else. I’m hoping this fixes my problem... I wish I had the same luck as all you:( ... don’t get me wrong MC is good stuff but in my case it’s definitely not a 1 and done nutrient, I’m really hoping I can get this figured out because I’d love to utilize the simplicity of this stuff lol I’d love it if I could just add a scoop and not worry about it anymore lol but it’s just not working for me... Maybe it’s the bag I got? Idk ... but I have a good amount of plants and their all yelling for calcium so I feed them and then they get nitro toxicity... most likely because I can’t completely control the amount of what nutes are actually going in. Maybe some of you could give me some advice cuz I’m about to throw the towel in on this dry nute bullshite. I’ve never had problems like this until MC was brought in the picture

The only thing that has me baffled is that none of you seem to need cal-mag

Have you been reading the thread? Many of us are using calmag.

I use a ratio of 1g MC, 1ml calmag, 1ml protekt.

So whatever level I'm feeding at, that's it. 5g/gal? 5gMC, 5ml calmag, 5ml protekt.

Dead simple. Weigh your stuff, there you go. You know exactly what's in your mix, and at 1/10th the cost.

You can't just scoop it, it needs measured. It really is that simple, and kitchen scales are cheap.

Why don't you have a clue about the levels of what you're putting in? It's no different from feeding liquid nutes except the liquid has been removed. You measure liquids in ml or tsp, you measure MC in grams.
You clearly misunderstood what I was saying... I’m well aware of what’s it in the dry nutes. I can read the label lol what I’m saying is when you add that scoop there is NO WAY you could tell me exactly what levels of each nutrient are in that scoop... one scoop could have more Phosphorus while the next scoop could have an excess of another nutrient... I’m not saying you can’t ball park and guesstimate what’s in each scoop lol your guess is as good as mine, of course we can prolly get relatively close because of what of the bag says... but that wasn’t even my question lol

i must say i am surprised none of this sites 'fert detectives' figured this stuff out yet.
Something I've seen from day one. Dutchman places a recirculating pump in his res to keep things mixed. No sediment that way.
Did u not read my reply? I said when I use cal-mag I get nitro toxicity...EVERYTIME.
Which Calmag are you using? You may have mentioned it but this thread moves too fast for me to hunt it down. The 1:blushsmile:1 ratio is assuming your calmag is 2-0-0. I recommend 1-0-0 to keep the N levels low. Please tell me you are not using GLN's pot of gold calmag.

I think that's the general conclusion, at least that's part of what's in the balls. I'm not sure if we got an answer from Greenleaf on it.

I replied to you saying "no clue as to the actual levels" because it makes it sound like you aren't being as exact with your MC measuring as you were with your liquid nutes. That was my impression from it anyway.
Ohh ok, sorry for confusing you. But no I’m monitoring this like a mofo... I monitor my ph, ppm, ec, and water temp.... I do this twice daily and am taking very good notes... I’m sorry if I came off rude, I’m just extremely frustrated with how this grow is going lol I thought MC would be easier then bottled nutes and I’m having the opposite reaction. I’m willing to do anything short of illegal activities to get this back on track. Lmao ... and my plants aren’t that bad, I’m just used to having beautiful plants from start to finish and can’t believe I’m having these problems. Especially considering the cal mag problem... so I just invested in a new cal mag product it’s called “ General Organics” and it’s supposed to have only calcium, iron, and magnesium.... has anybody heard of these and or have experience with them.
