The Mars Hydro FC-E4800 Sponsored Grow Journal: 3 Classic Strains In Soil

Looking good for wot they went thru in past week or so :ganjamon:
Cheers mate.. i will no doubt muck up somewhere.. i always do. I really don't know how you manage to keep you plants so healthy. They are always spot on.. You've got a magic touch mate. Everything I touch, falls to bits..

Hey Paul! :ciao: Hopefully you’ve got som of your(plural) things in order!

I don’t know if its the lighting which gives the deep dark hue, or are they actually that dark green?
Just wanted to mention that I had somewhat same kind of situation. My PP on soil had very stunted growth and the plant was getting darker green day by day. So started to think there is something wrong.
It was dark green like yours, but no other signs of the excessive Nitrogen.

Collected a sample of run off water and runoff pH was showing 4.9 o_Oo_O
So the case was too low soil pH which caused prob most of the nutrients to be locked out.
After a good flush I brought it back to 6.6 and just a day after she started to look heaps better and noticeable growth happened in like 12hrs.
Thanks also mate, everything is back in order..
They are really dark green mate.. I love them that colour. As long as its not affecting the growth, all is good..
There's a lot to be said for soil health. Loads say don't check your run off, for some reason or other and do a soil sample slurry test, as it gives a more accurate reading.. I did a slurry test and a run off test on my last sickly plants and I got the same reading of 10.. so it does confuse me why they say a run off test is not reliable or accurate.. @Emilya wrote a brilliant explanation for me on of how soil Ph works and how the buffering occurs. Read it HERE its very informative. For years I've tried to read about it, and teach myself, but I couldn't get to grips with it, but her post made it all crystal clear..
Glad you fixed your problem, that's the secret to a good grower; recognising issues and fixing them..
Nice work:thumb: she is a very pretty plant too..

Hey Squigs - coming along nicely mate:thumb:
Pics could show a bit more colour tho; try using Aperture Priority Mode set to F5.6 for brighter images (assume you have set ISO Auto)
After a shot, press the 'Play' button top left to view it, then press just below 'OK' on the ring and it will show you the light distribution and therefore you can adjust for a precisely correct exposure
If the graph shows too much on the left, it is underexposed, too much on the right and it's over exposed
Ideally, you want an even level across the graph, ie equal light and saturation, highlights and detail across the image

One other top tip - when repairing plasterwork, paint any new plaster patches the same colour as the surrounding wall for a truly professional finish
Hope that helps
Thanks mate..I haven't done anything like that with the camera. I'm on it.. cheers for that.
Oh! Im repairing plaster work next week..ive booked you a train ticket to the North East. Bring your decorating gear:laugh:

Hey, Squiggle!

The plants have plenty of room to grow. And one things is certain, that light will miss no spot in that tent! :Rasta:
Hey mate. How's tricks.? They will be dead by the time they touch the sides  I'm might have to move them over to one side though after Xmas. I always get loads of clothes as prezzies and I've got no wardrobe.

You told me they swap wheels for free bricks round your way...
Truth is, the bricks are probably worth more down here

Heya Squiggs!

Wow, missed a bit...just wow! Glad things are headed back to the upside!

Your pictures might still be on phone. Use a laptop to connect once fully dried, you may be able to retrieve them. Been there, done that.

How's the PM? Have you ever tried the citric acid for PM? Shed gave me a great recipe for it if you need

Hey mate, don't worry about missing things, I'm in the same boat, I'm miles behind on every ones. Things get in the way, it's life unfortunately..

The phone won't take a charge. It will come on for a second or two and then go off. Maybes I shouldn't have tried to dry it in the microwave ;)

I haven't tried citric acid, could I have that recipe please, if you don't mind that is. Thank you:)

This one got me  Growings gave a full tut how to use your camera step by step. And youre like cheers mate, I just hit the shutter and hope everythings in full auto …so don’t have to use phone.

Always jokes Paul love ya. And thats true what Growings said tho. When youve got your grow light on you usually getoverexposed or underexposed. But those are adjustable more or less.

Howdy do everyone, how's it growing?

I've slightly over fed the AG and the NL and they are really dark green. I prefer them dark to light coloured anyway, i would rather be on the over fed side to under fed..

It always happens in the first month or so, as I push them hard at first and i don't really have a feed schedule to go by with the nutrients I've got, saying they are for garden fruit and veg.

They will just be getting water only for the next few feeds, until they lighten up a bit.
But I know now exactly how far to push them.

This is what I feed them

Yes, I know, not ideal, but its organic and it grows plants, once I dial them in that is..
Anyway, here's the Alcapulco gold

Shes getting her first bit of training too

I've up potted the moby dick and the Blue Berry, so they are feeling sorry for themselves.
The Moby is an Auto, so it should have been handled with care, but it wasn't, as I'm extremely heavy handed. luckily I don't really grow for quantity, as we hardly use much, so anything we get is a fine with us. That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it..

Here's the tiny Moby, her pistils are slightly covered in soil from where she jumped out of my hands and onto her head. It was not my fault at all:rolleyes:

Here's a group shot under the fantabulous @Mars Hydro FC-E4800.
I cant fault this light at all. I'm in love with it:love:

That's it for tonight folks. Sorry the photos are not very good quality. I've only got one working eye at the moment and that's not perfect, I was using an angle grinder with no eye protection yesterday and something is stuck in my peeper. The queue at the hospital was out the door today, so I will attempt again tomorrow.. so at the minute I'm busy crying out of one eye. It's agony.

I will be doing a another update at the weekend with better pictures and more info.

I will catch up on all your growings on tonight, sorry im not up to date, i've been busy welding my rusty truck, it's like Fred Flintsones car, your feet can touch the tarmac..

Anyway, as always, thanks for stopping by, Eye I appreciate it

Take care
Paul

This camera is too complicated for a numbskull like me. I've been using it in idiot mode, untill Growings talked me through all the settings. But once medicated, I forget how to use all the functions and end up just pointing and clicking..
What do you use for your pictures mate? As they are always top quality..

I haven't tried citric acid, could I have that recipe please, if you don't mind that is. Thank you:)
Sorry Squiggs! Didn't see the notification!
Rex hooked you up with all the links, but since some folks prefer to have it in front of them:

Here is my recipe, and you can scale it up or down based on how much you need:
5g citric acid
500ml distilled water
10 pipette drops dish soap
Mix well and spray, preferably first thing in the morning before the sun will be on the plant. If not, late in the day so it can evaporate before nightfall but not burn in the heat of the day.
Make sure you get the whole plant as PM can hide between the buds and the branch.

For the record, 10 pipette drops of dish soap works out to a little less than 1ml in 1500ml of water (or .3ml per 500ml).

For my bud washing, I just used a 1% solution (no soap and with tap water) based on how much water was in the bucket (4 gallons = 15142ml, so that would take 151g of citric acid. I mixed that up with the baking soda (.5-.75 cups/5 gallon bucket) for the wash water. Rinse buckets are plain tap.

Hope it helps! Did for me!

Be careful @Paul Squiggle - your eyesight is NOT something you want to mess with. Hubby once had a teen tiny speck of metal get into his eye and had an infection from it that landed him in the hospital.

Plants are looking good, Paul!
something is stuck in my peeper
The last time I got a piece of steel stuck in my eye, the Dr. dug it out of my eyeball with a hypodermic needle... it's times like that when you really appreciate the novocaine... ;)

Tiny sign of calcium deficiency showing.
Can’t see that :nerd-with-glasses: if you mean the splot on the leave that could be anything. From a nute water splash.
BUT what Im seeing is the foliage is deep dark green and she has red veins and petioles.

Had same kind of look and the growth was pretty much stunted, or significantly slowed down. Tested soil pH and it was showing 4.9. I’d maybe test the pH because too low soil pH retards the growth/flowering.

Looking great anyway and first tiny tiny pistils showing :hippy:

Hello Squigs - looking pretty good mate
We popped beans around the same time, happy with progress?
I can see that is a superb light but how effective is it at that height? Is it easy to move?
GF working this weekend so I'm trying to catch up with folk without touching the stash
Oh, it's only 1:30pm... hmm, easier said than done

Hey squiggs in my day's when I was a sparky ,have had metal shavings in my eye several times ,,to the point I have scarring
When I had it done a doctor pins your head an gets a needle an picks it out your eye its not to sore but it's the noise of metal picking metal in your eye it turns the stomach
