The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Do you recall at which point in the journal Carnival appears?

Thread search tool! Carnival #1 appears in a solo cup on page 25. Search Carnival and it returns five pages. Stick with GT's update posts and you can get a great sense of how he times his drenches/foliars in a neat and tidy package.

Thank you PeeJay. I had to laugh when I found this post. I logged on because I was eating breakfast and suddenly thought "Thread Search Tool!!!" Hahaha! Sometimes it's just spooky. :laughtwo:

It's nice to see you're as excited as I am about Carnival PeeJay. :laughtwo: You realize I'm also growing Jamaican Dream in that closet? I didn't realize I'd chosen two of Graytail's favorites, both represented in his first journal, until it was posted. I'll get a lot of usage out of that search tool over the next couple days. :battingeyelashes:

Took me three tries to open the envelope, three tries to remove the death certificates and two terrifying attempts to unfold them and see that it was all real and this wasn't some stupid dream.

Only sobbed a few times. It's ok. I can move on now.

It's a good day, filled with promise.

You're every example of strength and perseverance. An icon of triumph and tragedy. An idol to the young and unexpecting.

Love you lots and lots. Today I'm wearing a smile for my girl Sue!

can i concievably grow 3 plants under a 600 watt hps in flower?

I can't imagine why not Bear. Anyone here have experience?

Easily. It all depends on how much space you have for them and how big you grow them.
I had 4 plants under a single 600W HPS in a very small space (like 33" x 33"). They did fine but were very crowded by the end. I probably should have flipped them a little sooner. More light + more space = more yield. Heck, you could grow dozen plants under a 600W HPS if you did a short veg' SOG/SCROG.

I've got a 3' x 3' x 7' grow tent for my 600 watt HPS, and 4 plants seems to be perfect for either plants that are LST'ed, that are topped and the side branches spread out, or that are supercropped. I could probably fit nine of those type Indicas that don't branch out much in there, but if I decided on something like a Haze I'd do either two small plants or one average size plant (they stretch like crazy during that long flowering period).

sue did i see in your posts you use the mars hydrogrow 300 w led?

Good day Sue....just cruisin around bein sick here. Got the bloody flu.....f..k sakes! Anyhow , have an awesome day girl.:green_heart:

I feel for you Duggan. I have no tolerance for being sick either. Can't stand the down time it takes to heal.

Be gentle with yourself - force fluids and try to sleep more. (Kind of ironic coming from me, eh? :battingeyelashes: ) :hugs:

Indeed you did Bear. I recently picked up two panels at a clearance price that made them too good to pass up. I have a 110 x3 and a 60x5.

All done riding around for the day and on the bus 20 minutes from home and my tent. :yahoo:

I was sitting here, remembering Carnival, and looking forward to your first test of mature buds ...

... and it hit me again. That'll be some time in December. :laughtwo: Growing plants for produce is an odd hobby - every project is 4-5 months long. We're artisans/craftsmen of sorts, creating something beautiful step by step, week by week, until it's finally finished. I see a shared sense of deep patience among us as we go about our lives. The slow, phased way our plants develop put a timeline to our lives, with occasional small delights along the path to the eventual reward.

Very few pursuits have that sort of timeframe. It provides a small but solid degree of stability and hope when life decides we're gonna be the bug for awhile.

4-5 months to go for each new plant. I know, myself, that I have some fine produce coming in December, with a few delights along the way! :cheesygrinsmiley:

:Namaste:

Home at last!

GT, you ever consider growing small really delish plants in 2-3 months? :)

I don't know if he could be tempted Ziggy. :laughtwo: Not to be presumptuous and think I know him, but he has his technique down to an art form and he obviously enjoys practicing that art. Maybe after I start harvesting like you we'll tempt a few. Habits are hard to let go of sometimes. You and I figured out something they haven't yet. Give them time. :battingeyelashes:

You guys have no idea how many evenings I spend studying from these threads for hours to get ready for bed and realize I never bothered to even reach for the pipe. :reading420magazine:
So addicted to the site it's rediculous, but OMG, I'm learning so much.

Alright, let's try again. Goodnight.

So much for 'pot' being so addictive as to be evil. :whoa:

Graytail, that was absolutely poetic! :battingeyelashes:

Daily Update: Perpetual Tent: Week 9

I posted earlier about the CAT Drenches for African Buzz and Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia. There was no other maintenance necessary for the tent today.

I'm going to do something rare and sit over here and try to be quiet while you enjoy the photos.

Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia : Day 56 I'm fairly certain that sometime in the next few days I'm going to have to harvest her top. There are some new pistils popping out this morning, so I'm interested in seeing what she does, but the top of this plant looks like it's going to be ready before the bottom is.

One last peek. Now I need to close it up so they can continue to work their magic in secret. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Well, that was so incredibly relaxing. My day has been bubbling over with joy since the feet hit the floor and I got to do my first CAT Drench. :slide: Bus travel takes a toll on the body (they should make the people who design those seats ride on them for a year before they approve them - just sayin'. ) and I will now alieviate the pain that knot over my left scapulae is blessing me with by indulging in a few delightful hits. Then maybe a fresh cup of coffee made with the fresh roasted beans I picked up in town is in order. Mmmmmm, yeah.

So, get yourselves in motion and continue that joyful seeding of your little slice of paradise, ok? Together we make a bigger difference that we can imagine.

I'm so thankful we can share this specialized gardening obsession we have with each other. It's so hard having to keep it secret, isn't it? Better days ahead guys. Better days ahead.

:Namaste:

that is why i like my autos

Oh Bear, what Ziggy and I are doing is way beyond just growing autos. Tiny and potent plants that have flavor and impact the likes of which few get to enjoy. I can't wait until I'm as spoiled as Ziggy. I look forward to my first morning choice being "which bud do I want to bake while I have my breakfast?"

Oh yeah. :laughtwo: :slide:
