The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Iwant to see that cola after it dries and cures :)

I'm thinking dry her carefully and keep it as one big piece. I have a jar it'd fit right into. :battingeyelashes:

Good Morning everyone.

More pictures will follow. I need to eat and do drenches first.

Afghani #2, pre-wash. (Day 140 - Harvested)

I've since trimmed the stems.

Hanging to dry and stinky as hell. :laughtwo: I can't place the smell, but it's intoxicating. I'm standing here just breathing it in. :battingeyelashes:

Quite a colorful run I have going here.

image4428.jpeg

Later guys. I stayed up all night, finishing up a run of Callanetics and then directly into the tent at 7:30. I'm running on coffee, adrenaline and brownies right now. I feel great, but I'm really not 35 anymore and need to feed this body something responsible like oatmeal. An excellent idea.

I'll see you after the drenches. Only five left in there in Kit soil, so it shouldn't ......... I just reminded myself to avoid saying things like ".....it shouldn't take long. ". You ever notice how those words are almost like a curse? How would I rephrase that? ............ make it joyful.....

I have some drench play to take care of. I'll be back after that. :ciao: :green_heart:

That worked. :battingeyelashes: Get out there and spread that joy guys.

Why we wash our buds..........

Hey Shaun. Mine was a rush job. She was flipped on Oct 1, so only 30 days in flower but under 10/14 for most of that time, which accelerated everything so I could tear down next week.

You'll get a better quality and quantity out of yours than I'm getting from mine Shaun.

HARVEST: Afghani #2 (Day 140)

Start the day by gathering supplies for the bud washing.

Then straight to the deed.

She weighed out at 132 grams, pre-wash. That puts 20% at an anticipated 26 grams dry. I now know how to grow limited yields. :laughtwo: When I get back to growing again next year I really need to expect more from myself than this, although, having said that, this is a hobby that kept me from losing my mind when my beloved died and awakened my interest in concentrated cannabis oil. The entire grow has been a transformative event in my life. I'm grateful for each and every gram that comes out of this tent.

Only 6 more to go. :laughtwo:

Carnival (Day 139)

Just a few more days of pictures guys. We come down on the 6th, regardless. I need to get it dry enough to jar, and I'm only leaving 4 days for that as it is. Fans will be utilized to push the drying cycle just a tad. It would be rediculous to come this far and lose it to mold, wouldn't it?

A little peaked prior to the Growth Energy drench. The last Brix was a bit heavy, I'm afraid, and crisped her leaves a little, but it's less than a week now and those leaves are going necrotic anyway.

Yeah...... I know.

Hey Sue! How's it going? I've wanted to ask you this for a while now, so here goes. I've noticed that you're growing onions in some of your pots. Do the onions detour critters away from your soil, or did you just throw some onions in the mix just for shits and giggles? I only ask because I am thinking about doing that in my next run, and I thought it was cool seeing onions growing side by side with the gals. Great harvest Sue. I've been interested in carnival, but Jamaican dream looks like it's coming around nicely. Talk to ya later.:thumb:

Kinda crusty, ain' she? :Love::laughtwo:

Pushing her to the limit. I've been so careful with the Brix all along, and this last time I went a bit nuts. :laughtwo: Lesson learned. :battingeyelashes: i keep looking over my shoulder expecting to see Duggan. LOL!

A wonderful question Cy. You notice the onions in the Afghani's pot aren't very healthy at all? Yep, it's indicative of some problem in the soil that I'll attend to when I get back. Oh yeah! Be right back. I need to order some more WormPower vermicompost.

OK, I'm back. The onions, mycorrhizal and cannabis form a synergistic relationship when grown together. If everything is clicking along nicely the onions will thrive, and so will everything else. If you've a problem with the fungi in the soil, the onions aren't going to thrive.

It's been fairly obvious from the beginning that this soil needs a steady diet of amending to get it up to speed. It had a couple missteps along the way. Those struggling onions tell the tale. Compare them to what's growing in the other no-till. What the pot really needs is worms. I may need to dig some out of the other pot.

Sorry, Cy, I got off base. Back to the synergy. The onions work some type of magic in the mix that assists the myco in the breakdown of minerals in the soil. They also modulate the smell of the Cannabis. Really. They cut back on the odor of the plant growing in the pot.

Cannabelle shared all this with us during the brief time she was active a few months back. Her journal has since been abandoned, but here's a link. Good reading in the few pages she left.

Daily Update: Perpetual Tent - Week 21, Day 3

Maintenance notes:
- Afghani #2 was harvested on Day 140.
- Every other plant in the tent in Kit soil (5 of 6) got a Growth Energy drench mixed at 1.5 times normal strength.

A bonus shot from Carnival. I just love the way the trichomes layer themselves on the leaves like that. Isn't it great? It looks like she was dipped in the sugar bowl. :laughtwo: Yeah, it could stand to be sharper, something I'll have to set up for next grow, but it got the essence across.

Down to the wire now. Last Brix will be Friday. Ultimate Harvest on Sunday. That will be all five plants down on Sunday. It's not as crazy as it sounds. Four of them are tiny, which gives me the time to devote to getting Carnival done up right. I think tomorrow I'm going to clip a couple small buds from the lower reaches and set them aside to be completely dried by harvest, so I can get high on Carnival when I do the harvest.

That sounds like an excellent plan. :blunt:

I'll be withdrawing by next Friday when I fly out. :laughtwo:

I'm beat guys. I should sleep well tonight. No sleep last night is bound to slam into me sometime soon. I can't believe I can stay up like that, finish out the night with two hours of intense Callanetics and still be fully functional at 7 PM. I don't know where the energy comes from, but I know it's gonna run out soon. :laughtwo: I'll be out and about until then. See you around the threads.

:Namaste:

Can't take anything with me Duggan. Hers is a clean home. It's a sacrifice I make to spend the time with her. I'll have jars of fully cured when I come home. :battingeyelashes:

Those brownies are wickedly potent Duggan. They need to be eaten cautiously. :laughtwo:
