The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

I'm curious to know of anyone who has experience with slow, cold maturing of the marihuana flower.

Today I harvested my ladies from the greenhouse.

I have kept the greenhouse heated since October (last few weeks -10°C outside). My ladies never seemed quite ripe for harvest (trichome cloudy/amber ratio never quite ripe) so they have been "not quite ready for the picking" at least 35 days past expected harvest. - But* fairly cold ~ 10-15°C and low sunlight conditions (short days up N & cloudy).

Reason for curiosity: I just wet-vaped a little (I often do, GREAT tastes) the effects of this however, is something very different to me, very much more intense than I've come across before. It literally feels like I'm walking on little clouds or rather I'm walking but not quite in contact with the floor (hehe when I re-read that it looks weird but in my mind, it makes perfect sense).

*Note to my 1st grade teacher: "Yes I know Mrs. Lamb, you told me, "never start a sentence with the word But unless you mean..."".

"At the very least it's going to be an interesting documentation of what happens when you break the rules, eh? Don't I make a habit of that? " You are such a rebel!

Only 9 days?

Dark Devil Auto #1 (Day 93)

One more drench ahead for her, the final Energy which is reputed to enhance flavor. Then she dries out and comes down. It's gonna be madness around here those final few days. As long as I get it all dry enough to jar up I'm good. I got carried away here guys. Just enjoy it. :battingeyelashes: :circle-of-love:

My private stash. This will be for consumption outside of brownies. This strain is unbelievably potent. I was wandering around here yesterday evening wondering why I felt buzzed when I hadn't had anything to smoke since around 6:30 that morning, when I realized that what I'd smoked then had been the Dark Devil Auto test bud. Yeah, hahaha, that made me smile reeeeaaaal big. Gosh, I've missed smoking this and when I get back I'll have three separate samples grown under different conditions to compare. All cured at least 6 weeks. :slide:

Life is sweet. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Awww.... You made me feel so special there. *blush*

When I started here I made a conscious decision to avoid being scrubbed clean to make it all somehow easier for others to accept. Life doesn't work like that, and quite frankly I think it helps to acknowledge that and show how to work past those little challenges life drops in front of us from time to time. I'm "what you see is what you get" and I've never been afraid to be who I am or to suffer the social consequences for being different than the pack. I figured you guys deserved to get to know "me" instead of some other "ME". Know what I mean?

I enjoy being "me". It's reassuring to find myself in a community that so readily embraced this particular "me". :circle-of-love:

You are the Janeane Garofalo of our 420 mag "Mystery Men" - except nicer. Maybe our William H. Macy :)

What a sweet, sweet girl she's growing into. Two more weeks. Just looked at the calendar and we have 9 days until Ultimate Harvest.
Do you always go by the breeders timeline Sue? I found them to not always be accurate. In fact now we don't even pay attention to them.

I think this goes back to what Ziggy's been up to. He's found that chopping plants a little early brings out different terpenes and effects.

That walking on clouds feeling is a constant for me when I have my regular brownie dose. I just figured it was a common reaction to the sativas. As B A R pointed out, early harvest does indeed often result in a much better buzz than you anticipated. Thanks for reminding me of that, because I'll be taking the AJH x AA down so early is scares me.

Yes, I looked again, and only 9 days to the 6th. I need it down by then so it can dry enough to get jarred up before I leave on the 11th. I also need to get the tent cleaned, disassembled and packed up for the next cultivator to pick up before I leave town for almost two months.

That's such a sweet thought. I love Janeane, and to be compared to William H. Macy, well...... :circle-of-love:

I never even look at them B A R. I just know this strain because I've grown it before and it can run at least another month with no problem. This time I get to experience some of those early harvest modulations Ziggy's been playing with.

the saga continues lol

I know, I love it. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone.

My life is lived on this small space in the corner of the living room. There're other pieces of furniture in the room, but I never use them anymore. Sitting on the floor has become very natural. Even in its simplified, almost stark approach to living, I had to smile at how I've decorated it to reflect a sense of bringing the outdoors in. I mean, how many women do you know with an artificial tree stump placed in front of a screen of silk fern leaves used as an accent corner?

Well, Rad's house, certainly, and possibly....... Yeah, it occurs to me that the company I keep here share some of those same quirky design elements in their own homes. :laughtwo:

I've been planning and plotting my approach to harvesting this brood. It's unfortunate that my successful Kit grow should end so abruptly, but gee whiz, wasn't this the most fun? I'll end up with incredible produce, I'm certain of that. It's been a consistent hallmark of my tent and there should be no reason to expect otherwise.

To hedge my bets I consulted with DrZiggy and he offered a sound plan.

- Brix foliar today.
- ASAP, everyone gets hit with a double dose Growth Energy. This will be tomorrow or Monday.
- Water daily from then on with a little TransWater (1/4 strength).
- Brix 2 days before harvest.

Ziggy was amazing. As always, he responded quickly to my queries and gave me precise directions geared for maximum success. A stellar companion to this grow. Sue :high-five: Ziggy

Time to get into the tent.

the saga continues lol

Good morning. I got so busy the last couple days with personal issues I've missed riding the electric caravan. Only got one in, late last night. I missed you and the music. LOL! Didn't know you were addictive, did you? :laughtwo:

Everyone who needed it got a Brix foliar. A couple wanted to say hello right now. Impatient girls. Where do you think they learned a thing like that?

I haven't had breakfast yet. Let me attend to that. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I know you love your brownies, but I hope you try a bit of that Delahaze. It's a nice strain that should give you the effect you've said you like best.:Namaste:

Thank you for the heads up on this brightlight. I'll be sure to save some out.

That carnival is going to be some excellent smoke Sue!

It's one of Graytail's go-tos. The man shares my love of good sativa and highly recommended this one. I'm trying not to clip a piece off. :laughtwo:

Very nice Sue. They're very happy. That Carnival looks awesome!

Of course they're happy mon ami. They live with me. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Thank you for the compliment. I'm not sure how much credit I can take. Well, I trained her and I have kept her on a reasonably sound path...... Alright, I'll just accept the compliment graciously. Thank you. *curtsy*

Here's your reward guys. Bonus shot from under the skirt. Carnival (Day 136)

image147.png

Have to make a quick grocery run for the daughter. Then I'll get the rest of the photos up.

Thank you all for all the support. I take you're all out there spreading joy? Of course you are. :laughtwo:

Carnival (Day 136)

Once again, she speaks for herself. I'm in awe with the rest of you. ShiggityFlip commented earlier on one of Cajun's threads that the most exciting plant in my tent right now isn't an auto, but a photo, and he's right. The part he forgot to mention, and in this case a point that cannot be overlooked, is that this plant was raised in soil fed and maintained using Doc's HB Kit. That made all the difference. What we're looking at here is a classic first run HB Kit plant. When I get back to growing in the New Year, my goal will be to replicate this kind of growth and development in my own garden using LOS.

A big voice inside me keeps asking me why I'd even look further? :laughtwo: I keep reminding it of my love of a sustainable plot with worms, thank you very much. But I hear that voice and I understand its insistence on being listened to. I'm just more hard-headed than the voice is insistent. And then I look at her again and wonder.......

Afghani #2 (Day 137)

Hanging in there with me. I have to admire her. It's going to be an interesting smoke. I've been saying all along I have no desire for an indica in my stash inventory, and now I'm thinking she deserves a try just like everyone else. Maybe sleep wouldn't be such a bad thing, eh? :laughtwo:

Hi, Sue :) I'm heavily medicated (on Afghani, as it happens -- love this smoke! It's mellow but super clear and fresh) but wanted to say that the upskirt on the Carnival is HOT :) I think my next grow is going to have to be an organic grow of some sort -- the call of soil is strong and your work is inspiring.

Love your corner, too. Thank you for the glimpse of your world. I have a corner in our media room with my computer and a comfy wing chair and all my craft stuff around me (and my stash box :)) Wherever I am in the house (or anywhere) I make a little nest and snuggle in :)

Take care.

Jamaican Dream (Day 81)

Geez, wouldn't it have been nice to run this one another month? Yeah, I think there's definately another go with this strain. Look at all those crispy leaves. Poor baby, but it's probably a contributing factor in her accelerated development.

A lot can happen in a week. One more drench to go. I'm glad I got one of the CATs in.

Dark Devil Auto: My Trio

#2 (Day 81) I really think this one needs to come down, and that may happen tomorrow. Looking her over today it's pretty obvious the window is beginning to close. I've pushed her to her limit. I may have left her up too long, but then I haven't tried one with any amber, so I can't judge that, can I?

image4291.jpeg

image156.png

Isn't she the most primal-looking thing ever? She fascinates me with this wild beauty she exudes, like some mythical beast. She's going to be delicious smoke. You can tell that just looking at her.

image157.png

These lights make her look even wilder and more primitive.

image158.png

#1 (Day 94) This one needs to come down too. I'd like to believe I can get another drench in, but I don't want them turning all amber

image4276.jpeg

#3 (Day 66) My tiniest dancer, the most delicate beauty in the class of lovelies. This little darling just charms the hell out of me. LOL! She looks like she got the memo that harvest is fast approaching and decided to show off in her last week.
