The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Smoke Report #2: Strawberry Blue - Part 1

image1813.jpeg

First and second hits I continued loading pictures into the gallery with no notice. The third hit made me take notice. Somewhere between the third and fourth hit (I'm still lost in that stage now LOL!) transformative thought ensued.

"These are the worst-fitting glasses I've ever owned and I paid too much for them. My current insurance will pay for one pair this year that could be purchased from the place these should have come from, except he never would have sold me something this cheap.

OR - I could pull out that course on "Sight Without Glasses" that's been taking up shelf space for over ten years and finally put my eyes through the paces the way I let Callanetics train my body back into health and youthfulness."

See? Transformative thought. The creative centers just woke up. Let's see what they want to do. Let me try the next three hits. It's beginning to climb. I may not make six. Oooo... A challenge. :laughtwo:

Smoke Report #2: Strawberry Blue - Part 2

image1814.jpeg

I have to write this as I go or it gets lost in the stream. The fourth hit was what I call "Whispy". I have the sensation of becoming smoke and riiiiiiiising up as the lungs fill. Not quite the same as floating. Whispy and wonderful, satisfying and giggly all together. Haha, whew...... As I float down and make contact again - I kid you not - real deep and powerful my entire body went

T H R O M!

Almost knocked me over it was so strong. Time for the fifth hit.

Wow! That one hit me smack in the sacral chakra. Intense. Google it. Then order seeds. I still have one more hit to get through. This one made me laugh right out loud with joy that my initial assessment to the libido-enhancement potential of this strain was correct, but it also made me pause and consider how intense that response was. I mean, to have that much effect on the chakra center itself. Good news is apparently my chakras are open and working well, so no concern about that. :laughtwo:

Ok, sixth hit. I have to meet the challenge.

I inhaled, the lungs filled and I held....... My skin took a breath and softened to the world around it. That's the best way I can describe it. Everything became softer, more inviting, more sensual. This is that point I hit last night - so unfair yet so deliciously alive how do you not appreciate it for what it is? Touching at this point would have to be incredible.

There you have it. A strain that will be a part of my inventory from this point on. There must be others. Delicious Cotton Candy came highly recommended by Cannabelle for the same reason, so I know there are others. We must consider that this may be user specific. It could just be me. I've personally never reacted in this way to any other strain, but it's still worth considering. Use this information responsibly. LOL!

It's a clear and happy high. My mind's in creative, but it's in no great hurry to get anywhere, so things are tumbling through in free fall. My body feels the need for a tune-up after the vaccination discomfort, so this might be a good time for Callanetics. I might float through them. :laughtwo:

I'll do updates later. That Callanetics idea sounds like a winner.

:ciao:

Do you put sunscreen on before workin your tent? With that much light, you must be getting pretty tan. :loopy:

P.S. Go get some breakfast.

:laughtwo: I've been lax about the glasses though, and I reminded myself again today. Think I need to hang them on the front of the tent.

I did have breakfast. How sweet that you care. :battingeyelashes:

Super Sweet Sue's vacation blog.

I'm gonna feel like I'm super while I'm there. :battingeyelashes: She keeps a cookie table setup that runs from early December through the New Year stocked with an ever-changing variety of cookies that friends and family can come and pick from to give as gifts to others. I'll be in my glory. She cooks like I do, all natural ingredients and real butter. Cookie baking every night. I'm famous for my cookies, she's famous for hers. My daughter's contended for years they we should be in business together - me with my cookies, her with her cakes. I can't stand the thought of having to do it every day for years. A good sign it's not for me. :laughtwo: But it'll be good to play this year.

If I blog it I can share recipes and you guys can make them better. I won't have the option to use cannabis in any of the recipes. Next year - fire that buttermaker up and get some serious Canna-Christmas cookies baking. This year I'll have to be content to encourage others to try the recipes and post on Canna's edibles thread.

That's the last of it.

Now I'm going to get that Callanetics session in and get this body tuned up again. My arms no longer feel like someone's trying to burn them off when I put them over my head and any residual achiness has passed.

Get out there and live it up people. So many joyful moments just waiting to be discovered. Do your best. It's kinda cloudy and gray here, but that hasn't kept me from dancing through the hallway, so don't let a small thing like atmosphere interfere with the inclination to sing with the Universe. Just be bold and do it. :battingeyelashes:

I'll be checking in as I go. Later. :ciao: :green_heart:

Looking good

Sorry about the blurry one. It was the leaves I was photographing anyway, but I'd hoped for a clearer shot than this. Too late now. Lights are out.

Amended Update

I wandered into the tent to gaze lovingly and realized that I had a group that needed those drenches today instead of tomorrow.

Maintenance notes:
- All Kit plants got a DeStress foliar. I can't be bothered with "when the birds begin singing" so they get those foliars whenever. My experience is that it's more important to not overload the foliar mix and application than it is to get up at the break of dawn.
- The New Year's Bag Seed, the oldest Dark Devil Auto, Paradise Nebula and Original Bubblegum all got TransWater drenches.
- Paradise DeLahaze got her second CAT drench.

While I was in there I took a few more pictures. Enjoy. :battingeyelashes:

image34559.jpg

Jamaican Dream, still not thirsty. She's going to do that 2 week layover Carnival drove me nuts with. She hasn't had a drink since transplant.

image34560.jpg

I got all caught up in the White Widow. The malted barley grain drench on Monday sent her into a tizzy of pistil development.

image34561.jpg

Nice frostiness going on too. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And I think that's it for the day. I'll be seeing you around the threads.

:Namaste:

That is a lovely background for the bud picture.

! you know I love the bud photo op !

carry on.....

Thank you keltic. That means a lot coming from someone as talented as you. Your journal was like taking a trip through a jewelry box. The background is the velvet seat of the ancient piano stool I have sitting around. The piano and I parted ways when I went to college. I bought it with this romantic idea of taking piano lessons. Life got in the way and I went to college instead. I've held onto this stool since 1969. Wow! That caught me off guard! It's worthless and beat-up and I adore it. :laughtwo:

How funny that among the things that I own, the ones that I value the most have the least financial worth. Haha! That would make my Grandma so proud. :battingeyelashes:

Boy Sue, you got it going on. Every thing looks great, that Carnival is especially good looking. I'll have to go look that one up. Keep up the good work. TOAST

Thank you TOAST. You surprised me. I know how busy you are harvesting. Here ..... :hugs: ...... To tide you over.

You all know my belief that L I G H T is the engine that drives the grow. Cramming everyone into an inadequately-lit space made me a little nervous in the beginning. I had visions of whispy colas devoid of frostiness. Yeah, I know that's highly improbable, but that's where my mind kept trying to go anyway.

At about two in the morning I suddenly got to wondering just how many watts I have going?

image1826.jpeg

T8s: 32 watts x 4 = 128 watts
CFLs: 23w x 15 = 345 watts
40w x 4 = 160 watts

Total Florescents 630watts

Dorm Grow 450
Mars 100x3
Mars 60 x 5

Best estimate on the real output on the LED panels is around half the total listed wattage, which brings us to around 500 watts. (I like to round down here)

So it appears I have somewhere in excess of 1000 watts bouncing around in there. Before I'm done there'll be a few more, at the very least around the Jamaican Dream and the tiny Dark Devil Auto that sits next to her.

I feel better about my chances to get a decent harvest out of this tent now. :blunt:

Sue PLEASE make sure your outlet, breaker, any extension cords, etc are all up to the task. When you start pulling in excess of 1 KW, all connections need to be clean and tight with the proper gauge wire and shorter runs. If you pull 10 amps for lighting and you have anything else on that circuit, you may be pushing it to the max.

Good stuff Sue. Once we're in good soil more light + better environment (temps, RH) = stronger buds.

Paradise Nebula (Day 58)

She's trying real hard to finish up faster. It's not time yet, little one. :battingeyelashes:

I don't want to be "that guy" but this plant doesn't look happy to me. I know she's at the end of her run, but her size and her leaves are telling me something isn't quite right.

Indeed. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

Couldn't agree more. The primary supply is a dedicated 20 amp breaker. The outlets were wired by Dale and I. Well, the landlord had the breaker installed and we ran the whole line. I have the pull distributed between heavy-duty extensions and a couple good timers. I check everything every day. I tried to do my best to keep everything balanced, and it seems to be working. I'm thinking with the reflective nature of the walls I may not need any more lights in there. Everybody seems happy and no lack of trichome development.

Good stuff Sue. Once we're in good soil more light + better environment (temps, RH) = stronger buds.

Thanks Reg. You'll be happy about this precaution as well.

I spent 35 years living with an Eagle Scout electrician. I paid attention most of the time. :battingeyelashes: I appreciate the concern and welcome it. We can never be too cautious.

I don't want to be "that guy" but this plant doesn't look happy to me. I know she's at the end of her run, but her size and her leaves are telling me something isn't quite right.

I'll take a closer look. I encourage you to speak up. I have no ego. Please believe me when I say that. Sometimes with the combination of old seed, small pots and reduced lights, this is the type of unhappy plant you can get. Let me see if I can find a way to make her life more accommodating, since she's going out of her way to grow me quality smoke.
