The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

image1839.jpeg

First off - NOT Nebula. We all knew that was bound to happen at some point, didn't we? Did someone have a poll? :laughtwo:

This is actually Excalibur, at day 72, and looking tired as she can be. I'm thinking this one comes down today. She never got her feet under her, and life as an auto can be brutal. Under this light schedule everything grows as an auto. I can use the space more efficiently.

Now, to clear up my posting snafu.........

Trying not to sit for any length today. I've been picking up things at random and putting them in a box to go to the thrift store on the first floor. I keep thinking about how much I can get done if I don't sit down. Started cleaning little spots around the apartment. If I didn't know better I'd say I was healing. :laughtwo:

I've decided that my doctor is a wise man. No drastic moves for a year. That gives me time to clear out all non- essential stuff and get back to owning only that which brings me joy.

I thought this was a good day to wear my most comfortable shirt.

As I'm working today I'm very conscious about the presence of the Tibetan dragon that flies protectively over me in the living room. Odd, I don't often notice him. Wonder what that's all about?

image1841.jpeg

Think I'll post pictures of him on my Spot later.

Graytail patiently explained his approach and scheduling with drenches to me many times. May I say, quite a patient and tolerant friend. What we worked out was this basic scheduling.

Keeping in mind the individual expressions of the plants and the myriad of variables that come into play just living through the day (only sometimes :cheesygrinsmiley: ), this is what you're doing. Plants get drenched when they need it, not on a "schedule". Just a guideline.

CAT - 35 FLIP 1/4 Trans/Water

CAT - 30 Days: Energy/Tea

CAT - 25 Days: 1/4 Trans/Water

CAT - 20 Days: Trans/Tea

CAT - 15 Days: 1/4 Trans/Water

CAT - 10 Days: Energy/Tea

CAT - 5 Days: 1/4 Trans/Water

CAT at 35 days after flip

CAT + 5 Days: CAT2

CAT + 10 Days: 1/4 TransWater

CAT + 15 Days: Energy/Tea

Alternate between Energy/Tea and 1/4 Trans/Water to the end.

According to a best-case scenario Carnival gets an Energy drench 10 days before the CAT. That would be today. Right on schedule she let me know she was thirsty now! It's nice when they play along. :battingeyelashes:

Critical Super Silver Haze (Day 73)

She's looking like another two weeks and I may be able to take her. I took her out today because from a distance it looked like she was much closer. Then you get up close and see what's really going on. I'll back off and give her two weeks before I make a move.

A Tale of a two Dark Devil Autos

The baby, in LOS (Day 32) She got a topping of EWC and a deep coconut/aloe drench.

image1847.jpeg

She then asked me to PLEEEEASE move that reflector up just a notch so she doesn't singe any more leaves, thank you very much.

image1848.jpeg

Her big sister, growing in kit soil is absolutely stunning!!! She missed out on the DeStress yesterday so I moved the lights to get at her and was shocked by her beauty.

You can't see the color the way I can. I tried to get it close, and it is, but it's deeper, more vibrant than translates digitally. This one is starting to get me super excited about the possibilities. Unbelievable development here. She seems happy with her lights. Just ride it out. She'll get her CAT next week. I need to get all the CATs started by next weekend to get them in within my limited timeframe. I'm very hopeful for this harvest round. :battingeyelashes:

Soul Seeds White Widow (Day 65)

Now, for the happiest plant in my tent, growing in that lucious LOS no-till in the corner. This white Widow is going to be incredible when it's finally time to take her down. Look at her now and consider that I can let her go another 6 weeks if I want to. From this point on her job is to simply swell and swell and swell.......... :laughtwo:

image1861.jpeg

Yeah, she's gonna be some nice smoke when I get back. I'll need to train my daughter to work the cure for me. Oh yeah, I'll need her to maintain the soil hydration too. :hmmm: This has to be low-stress for her. Give that some thought Susan. The last thing I want to do is stress her over her first holiday season with her soulmate. These plots are my responsibility, not hers. If I'm going to ask her to help, it has to be with the understanding that I'll be ok if things go wrong. Soil can always be recharged. OK. I'm good.

Daily Update: Perpetual Tent - Week 16, Day 1

Maintenance notes:
- All LOS pots got topped with some EWC and an aloe/coconut drench.
- Carnival got her next Energy drench. Next drench for her is her first CAT. :slide:
- The teen Dark Devil Auto (Day 47) got the DeStress foliar she missed yesterday.

The week ahead will include transplanting the AJH x AA and the smallest Dark Devil Auto and then it's just ride along to the end.

The Jamaican Dream is the only one I worry about, really. We only have seven weeks remaining.

image1865.jpeg

image1863.jpeg

I decided not to harvest Excalibur today, but to let her dry out until I'm ready to take her. She's obviously ready for the taking at any time.

image1862.jpeg

And that's all I got for posting today. Whew! Sometimes it feels like I got caught in a whirlwind. I think I'll treat myself to dinner out. Something inexpensive. Let me check that account balance to see if I can pull one more meal out off. Haha! Priorities. :laughtwo: Yep, it appears that dinner out is indeed an option.

I'll catch up with you all later in the threads. Thanks for sticking it out with me. I assume your day has been overflowing with joy as well? :battingeyelashes: Good, that's what I was hoping to hear. Keep it up. We can't pump enough joy back into the works, but we can sure try, can't we? :laughtwo:

I hope they have baked potato. Please let them have baked potatoes. :battingeyelashes:

I can never refuse a baked potato. Such white fluffy goodness. I like to bake mine an extra half hour so the outside skin becomes a thicker crust. Eat the potato, butter the crust and eat it like tasty buttery canoe. Garden looking good in there Sue. I would pack early and be ready so my last day there could be devoted to sampling what's dry!

Well there you are ShiggityFlip. :hugs: I've been wondering when you'd step out of the edges. Welcome, to my joyful little journal and to the greater :420: community. I trust you're finding everything to your liking? If we can in any way help you acclimate into our digital neighborhood more smoothly, please don't hesitate to ask for our assistance. There's so much here that often gets overlooked.

We share the appreciation for potato skin. Try it buttered with cole slaw inside. Mmmmmmm......... Heaven in a potato shell. :laughtwo:

I'll probably be all packed a week ahead. I travel extremely light. :battingeyelashes:

ShiggityFlip, have we met before this? I seem to recall running into you before. If I've forgotten, please forgive my oversight. Life's been quite a distraction these days. :laughtwo:

Coleslaw? Mmm haven't tried that. Maybe I will add some pork BBQ too. Thanks for being such a great ambassador Sue. I get a recharge coming to your thread each day. So sending good energy back as well. Hope to start a journal soon, you simply must come visit when I do.

You can count on it. :battingeyelashes: What a lovely thing to say. I'm glad you get that recharge. It's part of my goal here to spread more joy. I like hearing it's working. Not that I'd stop if I didn't get the feedback. LOL!

I love strolling through your tent Sue, it's filled with so many beautiful plants. I have had a joyful day, looking forward to tomorrow. Enjoy your meal out. Please let them have baked potato's

They had baked potato. :battingeyelashes:

Trying not to sit for any length today. I've been picking up things at random and putting them in a box to go to the thrift store on the first floor.
The store front under you is a thrift shop! Dag Sue, that couldn't be me. I'd have so many odds & ends in my apt. they'd be sending customers who couldn't find anything upstairs to me. Thrift shops & 99 cent stores are like hidden treasure hunts.

Ditto...

And you do a heck of a job at it.

and so it begins...

I'm beginning my journey into the study of cannabis as a curative medication. I've limited myself to a cursory view up to now, using cannabis primarily as a recreational drug or simply to help Dale keep his sanity as his body was trying so desperately to kill him. I have to say, just the small amount I've covered so far has me so upset with my decision in 2003 to take that job with Dollar General in part to force us to quit, since there was the possibility they'd make me pee in a cup.

Ironically, I may be the only person to work for that corporation during my nine years with them to never have to take a urine test. I slipped under their radar every single time, even when trained for management, and yet I was drug-free the entire time. Knowing what I know now I can't shake the sneaking suspicion that my decision may have sped up his demise. I understand there's nothing to be gained in going there, and I'll work past that within the next couple hours, most assuredly before I go to bed, 'cause who needs that kind of guilt hanging over them? I can see I'll be working through a lot of issues as I progress in my studies.

I'm beginning to suspect that we would all benefit from using cannabis oil. What started this study drive is the fact that cancer runs a strong line through the family of my best friend. Her father died from cancer and her mother battles it. I'd like to help her avoid that and the oil appears to be my best bet. I'm hoping to make my case for her to begin a preventative treatment program and the more I read the more I wonder why I'm not thinking of doing the same myself?

Aww, thanks B A R.

I try to stay away from the treasure hunt stores these days. I'm trying to simplify, remember? I stopped and asked her if she'd be interested in anything and she's more than happy to take anything I want to let go. The box is filling up quickly.

I have some real treasures that were thrift store finds. I have four plates made for the Pennsylvania Railroad Line dining cars with the Mountain Laurel design and numbered on the back, along with four coffee cups of the same design. I think I paid $5 for all of it. One of those plates is worth $75. They're my everyday dishes. Made Dale real happy the day I brought those home. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I have just last month or 2 been down a similar road with my brother in law, he has it in his esophagus. He is in Pa where as you know there is no medical. We got a bunch of oil to him and have great hope. I am quite sure he accepted the oil with out reservation. We are all very happy people and I am down right goofy. We made quite the case I am sure.
I look forward to learning more about the oil, this kind of thing makes ya learn lots quickly.

You like it? It's me. I took it over my shoulder one day and it turned out right nice. B A R suggested to Weaselcracker that he change his avitar and I remembered this picture. I like it. I think it reflects my nature quite well, so I think it might be here to stay.

Sue PLEASE make sure your outlet, breaker, any extension cords, etc are all up to the task. When you start pulling in excess of 1 KW, all connections need to be clean and tight with the proper gauge wire and shorter runs. If you pull 10 amps for lighting and you have anything else on that circuit, you may be pushing it to the max.

Also, if you are using any "wind/coil-up" type extension cords, make sure you unwind ALL of the cord. If you don't, you basically have a coil (inductor) on the line. At these power levels this will get hot (think melt & possibly cause fire). Many of these today have a thermal switch/fuse, but many still don't.
