The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Daily Update: Perpetual Tent and Tiny Closet - Week 12, Day 4

Maintenance notes:
- All kit plants except Original Bubblegum got DeStress foliars today.
- DeLahaze got a Growth Energy drench.
- Dark Devil Auto (Day 35) got a TransWater drench.
- Buddha Tahoe OG got thoroughly watered.
- Planted a Medical No Name in LOS to be raised in the Tiny Closet under 18/6 lighting.
- Put three of the AJH x AA seeds in a Tupperware container to see if I could get them to crack.

Shall we? It's been a few days since I took the time to link our arms as we take a walk-through, and to be honest, I've missed the personal touch, so let me slip my arm through yours... Now, isn't that better? :battingeyelashes:

We've already covered much in other posts, so this is just the stragglers.

Trying to get these resistant seeds to crack.

I raised the lights a bit this morning.

The veg shelf, LOS side, in the tent. Just look at that CSSH sitting center front. She's at Day 48, with at least another month to go. She's going to be a big yielder for the size, if she keeps going at this pace. Get her out there under the LEDs.....

I pulled the loupe today and went looking. We have three that I may take down tomorrow. For sure AJH x AA is coming down in the morning. Looking closely there are some turning amber, and I don't really want any amber at all, if I can help it. I'm looking for solid cloudy. I may let AJH have another day, since I have so much other heavy work to do with all the transplanting. The Buddha Tahoe OG is very close as well. Three plants in the next two days. That's what I'm talking about. :blunt:

There, the end of another day filled with beauty and wonder. I certainly hope you took the time to infuse wonder into your own experience today. I like to stop every once in a while and try to see what's around me through the eyes of a young child. I think those changes of perspective help to keep my spirit young, though my particular spirit has been on a life-long quest to avoid growing up. Hahaha! It's nice that at this point in life, even given the loss of my beloved's companionship, I've had more opportunity to play here with a childlike spirit than I have in years. It's nice that those of you on the receiving end of all that frivolity laugh with me. :laughtwo:

Time to do something about food. I've been at this all day. What a delightful hobby.

I'll be seeing you soon in the threads. Carnival gets flipped tomorrow. Let The Games Begin!!

:ciao:

I find having 7-9 different strains available to be about right, for me. Having a variety of sativas, hybrids and indicas for daily pain relief needs gives me the flexibility of being a little high, high, stoned or drooling on myself when I need. I've never sworn off one or the other. To each their own though :)

Thankfully, I have no need for pain meds. Can't even remember the last aspirin I took.... Probably when I had the flu last. I have no desire to slow the brain down. It's been clicking along now on a Sativa-driven wave for over a week and this is like coming home to me. I had no idea. No idea that this was even an option for me. These strains have been sequestered in an income bracket above mine and I wasn't even aware of them. No way am I looking back now.

This recent change in my posting style is directly related to the increased creative firing in my brain. I intend to have a selection in inventory, but I plan on the menu being Sativa-based. I was always uncomfortable with getting high and crashing. I was the one who was responsible for everything. My brain wasn't really allowed to go into relaxed mode until everyone was settled for the day. Now I know what I was looking for.

An important repost from B A R's journal. Do take the time to follow the link. Wait for it to link all the way through to the post by k0ncept.

If you don't click any other link today click this one; put your pointer on the green print & left click. If you're color blind it's the name Koncept in big writing UNDERLINED below. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't immediately go to the post. Be patient, it will.

KONCEPT

I had a disturbing conversation with my dentist yesterday, a medical professional in 2015 who believes that the evidence on the use of cannabis oil as an effective medication for the prevention of epileptic seizures was anecdotal. Blew me away. We have so much ahead of us to do. I have to remind myself that one year ago I knew nothing about cannabis oil either. A lot of work ahead for us.

LOL, Sue is at 25 posts per day ATM.

When I changed my posting style it ramped those numbers up pretty high. I didn't think about all that. I never really think about numbers, so they always take me by surprise. I think about how much fun I'm having putting the posts together and tossing them out there. I care about the conversation and discussion going on. I'm interested in showing you how easy it can be to grow your own meds and surpass the quality you'll pay through the nose for anywhere else. Free up the wallets of fellow earthlings so money can be spent in other ways.

I've also managed to demonstrate how easy it is to become overextended by your own exuberance. :laughtwo: Maybe that's not such a bad thing to demonstrate. Maybe somewhere, someone being tempted by the shiny can remember that I made that mistake and eventually backed off, but not before I spent money I could have saved. If so, then my attempts at transparency have paid off.

I'm with Heirloom on this one. And even though I have no pains or ills the CBD strains are good for just plain ol relaxing after a workout.

Oh, I've been over extended on this hobby too. 90 potted in a greenhouse and a few more indoor DWC. T'was a little too much like work.

I've been thinking about you while preparing to add to my collection. I'm getting two Mars II 400's and two 27x27x63 tents. Will be running perpetual and testing lots of stains under identical conditions. I could have 4 or 5 strains running at any given time and doing the updates plus the social would get overwhelming. While I want to share grows and results, I can't invest the amount of social time that many (thankfully) do here. Can't tell you how many times I've woke up on your couch and quietly slipped out.

So I believe my solution is going to be to do all documenting using a Word .doc for each strain. At the end a grow, harvest, cure and smoke test I'll release the entire single strain grow in one...or two or five.... posts in it's own journal. Will be happy to engage in chat and answer questions about the grow at that point. Not that I mind the socializing here, but it can add up. Maybe I'll do one live outdoor journal plus these 'just the facts' journals to keep it balanced.

2016 is going to be a good year :thumb:

This is actually a very sound idea. I'm obviously an outlier to the extreme. Honestly, who else here can invest the time to do 25 posts a day on average, when at least a third of them include documentation photos and narration of update materials? This is my retirement plan. How lucky am I? :laughtwo: To anyone else this becomes work or, even worse, time away from family, because you still have to invest time in career.

So you're the one who's sleeping on the couch? Good to know. :battingeyelashes:

I'm with you on that :) Sativas are nice and enjoyable, but unlike indicas and indica dominants, don't do much relieving of my aches & "creepycrawlies" under the skin.

And no, I'm not interested in cannabis that isn't Sativa-dominant. This high is what I've searched for. This feels normal to me. I'm sticking with it. My body will crash when I get overextended and it'll make me sleep. I don't operate any heavy machinery or care for any young. I'm only a danger to myself. :laughtwo:

Hey Sue.....there are many indicas that you might enjoy that have cerebral/up type highs similar to sativas along with relaxing physical attributes of indicas. Sensistar is a great example. Your current Bubblegum is another. Harvest window is also an important factor....early harvest window indicas can be very up highs.:Namaste:

Urban Madness at 2AM

I've lived in this apartment building for almost ten years now. Tonight was only the second time that we've had gunshot outside - directly outside - this building. This was an ongoing gunfight through the neighborhood. At 2 in the morning.

I live three stories up in a secure brick building with metal doors. Even given that security, this is not the type of occurance that causes one to want to go and slip into bed hoping to fall into a deep sleep. I think sleep just went on a short vacation.

Thankfully I grow some serious plant material that can change the whole flavor of this night.

I broke out a piece of the African Buzz tonight. I was about four teeny-tiny hits in and just starting to feel the clear and clean cerebral high this strain causes when they so rudely decided to shatter the peacefulness of the block. No noise out there now, which means they were typically piss-poor shots (thank goodness) and have moved on.

Let me return to the spiritual adventure I'd begun. This strain is reputed to induce a spiritual experience. Think I'll give that a shot.

Urban living and is myriad joys. Let me counteract with cannabis and love songs. Awww... Such a hopeless romantic. :laughtwo:

Look at how handy this obsessive hobby of mine came to be tonight. :blunt:

I wondered about that brightlight. Thank you for the information. I'm excited that you mentioned Bubblegum and I'll be sure to remember to take it earlier rather than later. I don't seem to be much into relaxation these days. I'm always relaxed, but I like zippy. I am beginning to miss the beauty of a full nights sleep , although I don't think cannabis is going to solve that dilemma. Not that I should close that door (the smarter part of her brain - the part really missing sleep- chimed in).

Thanks brightlight. I need a couple more hits of this African Buzz. It's beginning to creep in the nicest way. :battingeyelashes:

That sounds like a really great idea Heirloom. Gleaning the relevant info about growing a particular strain is a full time job on this forum and takes a lot of time chitchatting. A very fun job of course but a 'just the facts' document would be amazing.

Thanks Weaselcracker. I knew somebody would feel me. I love the social, but distilling the info in some 300 page 4500 post journals is a job unto it's self. :laughtwo:

Congrats on the win!

Dang Sue, that sounds like NYC in the 80's. So glad those days are gone.

. . .

In my little city about 10 - 15 years ago we had alot more shootings than recently. This last year it has gotten more common again, sadly. Back then, I used to say on July 4th you could not tell the gunplay from the fireworks. I have had nights like that. We are 5 floors up from a busy city street, it is always something, keeps it interesting.

have a sweet day after the night before.....:Namaste:
