The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

LOL, you are 3 of the last 5 currently on my latest reps. Thank you :circle-of-love:

EDIT: I was laughing a few weeks ago. You smacked steff with the hammer -o- rep and she went from a one dot newb to having a reputation beyond repute....lol.

It's a powerful tool. I try to use it for good. LOL!!!

First off I'd like to congratulate Heirloom on the chop.

Secondly, I'm standing up in PJ's defense. Yeah, you heard me right.
Though I haven't followed everyone's grows as regularly as I've followed his minus a few exceptions, most of you have seen me make this statement before; "The Proof is in the Budding". I've witnessed PJ grow after grow have astounding results without blemishes. I'll go out on the ledge and say he's had the most consistency of the healthiest looking plants out of anyone I've followed including HB growers.

With that said, we must all remember there's no right or wrong way to grow. I've seen gorgeous plants in so many different mediums here on 420mag that I believe I've forgotten more mediums than I remember. The only thing that counts is the end product and I personally have had buds from uglier plants that out shine nearly anything from my prettier plants. I must admit PJ's a tad bit aggressive in his beliefs but if I asked anyone of you who are religious about who is the Supreme Entity it would be hard to convince you otherwise and we all know there's hundreds of religions.

I'm not taking sides, just giving my testimony.

EDIT: If anyone's willing to send me a free HB Kit I'll be more than happy to do an unbiased side by side Grow using it alongside PJ's Organic Soil Mix following each step to the letter of both mediums using 2 clones from the same mother. I'm sure a lot of you know, experimenting & comparing is my thing.

I agree with you B A R. You'd be hard pressed to find another cultivator among our troops that turns out product as consistently healthy and potent as PeeJay, and he does it organically. I count us blessed to have him willing to work by our side and share his passion in a way he does so well. We are all in awe of you PeeJay. Don't forget, if it weren't for my draw to no-till, which requires that I maintain my soil community in a way different from your single-use soils, I'd be right there with you. I champion your soils for the same reason I champion mine, the results are, as B A R so eloquently put it, "in the budding". :laughtwo:

We use different approaches to the same ends. This is what :420: is all about. Let's not lose sight of the fact that this fight takes all of us, united behind 420, to make his dream come into manifestation. Nothing is gained by allowing rifts to open between us. We are a team. I trust we all know that.

PeeJay, I don't want you to ever hesitate to come here and speak your mind (yeah, like I needed to tell you that! :laughtwo:) . I welcome the discourse. I will always step forward to counter what I perceive as intolerance of another cultivation technique though. It seems to be the way I dance here.

B A R, I'll have a fair quantity of the kit left when I'm done. I actually purchased the remains of someone else's leftovers rather than let them go to waste. I have to cover some fees this month I got hit with for allowing grief to distract me from getting bills paid on time  *mutter* so I won't be able to ship it to you until beginning of October, but I want to send you a partial kit so you can play. What do you say?

Done deal.

Defoliation: lifting the skirt

It's almost time to begin training Carnival, so I felt it was the proper moment to open up underneath. This way she can recover from the trim before we start playing with the branches and bending them like Graytail. Am I the only person who hears a crowded stadium scream "BEND 'EM LIKE GRAYTAIL!!!" hahaha! Sorry Graytail. I certainly seem to be getting a lot of laughs at your expense these days. It's 'cause I love you. You know that right? :battingeyelashes:  Laughing with you Bud. :kisstwo:

Anyho... He and I discussed defoliation yesterday and I think I got it.

At the beginning....

image32849.jpg

The defoliated leaves. I'm going to try what I read Graytail suggest yesterday about sticking leaves into the cooking bin to check viability. That idea excites me in the craziest way! LOL!!

image32850.jpg

Did I get it right?

image32851.jpg

I'm assuming that in the almost three months she still has to go that this area will become productive.

image32852.jpg

Awaiting inspection Master Graytail. I think you should pat yourself on that wizardly back, my friend. I have goosebumps. I sure wish to hell you were close enough for a real live hug. :hugs: * Giggle *. This is so much fun. :laughtwo:

Done deal.

Ooooo, I'm so excited about this B A R. You'll do so much more than I could experimenting with this. There'll be lots left for you to play with. :yahoo:

You're gonna have so much fun. I need to get it to you sooner. I'm actually dancing around the room, I'm so excited about the potential future posts. :laughtwo:

Thank you. It was bothering me that some wonderful person had gifted me with this amazing product and I have never given it the in-depth look it deserves. It intrigues and confuses me. The soils grow comparable crops, but there's something incredibly special about what these components do and the plants that grow with the kit. I'm inexperienced, but I can see it happening right before my eyes and there's no denying it.

I'll be interested in your take.

Let me see what I can do to accelerate the timeline. :hugs: :slide: Wow! Such a relief!

No need to expedite it, I won't have space until we complete this run in the Big Tent. Speaking of the Big Tent Dale's Blue Blood is looking phenomenal these days.

What's going on here?

From Doc's Q&A, late last night. Graytail on viability of cooking soil.

I've taken to jamming a fistfull of trim down into the soil bin and checking a few days later to see what's happening to it ...

At 17 days, you have active biota - just a matter of how active. :thumb:

When you bury your hand in the soil does it come out dry or with a little film on it?

I know Reg, I've been watching it and you do stunning work, my friend. Make me a little tearfully proud. :hugs:

Both of these plants were scheduled for a Trans/Tea drench today, but only one got it. Can you choose the winner?

If you guessed the Unknown (Day 36) on the left then :high-five:. DeLahaze (Day 39) went back under the lights.

Unknown got the glory of the drench and the indignity of her new training.

image32881.jpg

Back under the lights for a few hours. I discovered that the tiny shoots in the nodes now being exposed as the branches lay out more horizontally are beginning to reach upwards for that light. Isn't this fun?? :slide: :laughtwo:

Serious Bud Porn

Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia (Day 58) Five days out from her second CAT drench. I think we have achieved frosty. :laughtwo: I cannot stop laughing.

image32873.jpg

I'm not even sure how long she has, but this is the beginning...LOL! I think I understand now guys. If this were my kinda thing, what we could do together!!!

Sorry, worms are calling me back. I'll leave this mystery and magic in your capable hands. I gain more respect for your craft every day I work with the kit. I just wanted all of you to know that. You know who you are. :kisstwo:

Yeah, like emoticons could communicate what my heart is feeling right now.

More, more , more to come. They should have an emoticon that's throwing a kiss. This one is the closest we have to it, so please, use those brilliant imaginations and remember, I'm always throwing a kiss, as well as waving.

:ciao:

After The Transplant

Anyone else hear strains of "...after the lovin'..." LOL!! ......... Life became a whole lot more fun since I found lembatoast's journal guys. There's something about him that set me loose. Hahaha! You go ahead and stay away. Leaves more time for me. I have never laughed so hard. Ahhh.... Where was I? "Boobs"........... Oh Bapple, what have you done to me? ...... Sorry lost it again. Oh yeah, look at this happy camper.

Soul Seeds White Widow (Day 28) Day after transplant.

THAT is one contented little darling. I'm so thankful I listened to her, though I'm still getting used to being led around by my plants. :laughtwo: I'll choose to think of it like discipline: loving guidance. There. That feels better. :laughtwo:

The CAT Drench

I know that the CAT has nothing to do with anything feline, but mine purr. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm doing something right, but they purr for me. Very friendly plants. :laughtwo: They draw you to them as soon as you enter the grow space. Don't get me wrong, every plant in here stuns me. Whew! What's going on here guys? It suddenly all clicked together. These girls after the CATs though, they're definitely special right now.

I'm tracking two at the moment.

Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia (Day 58) is five days out from her second CAT.

The New Year's Bag Seed (Day 55) has me really excited. So electric. This was decent smoke when we bought it, some of the best I'd had off the street in many years. I have many seeds, so if it pans out it could get interesting.

I have no idea what this strain is. There are many seasoned cultivator's looking at this right now. One of you must have seen it and have a bell go off. I encourage you to speak up.
