The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Sue, the other big box store has those style but also some blue ones that are a little wider and shorter if I am not mistaken. Those look taller and thinner than the ones I was thinking of. Perhaps I can add a picture.

I don't know the dimensions on the geo pot, but the dimensions for that pail are pretty much 6.5" height, length and width.

I'm pretty sure I saw these next to the ones I bought. I'm going back tomorrow to check them out. Thanks for the picture Juan. That'll help others out too.

Absolutely. If we find ourselves close we'd have to meet, eh? So yours is a petite princess too? To what do you attribute bite that? In my case it's the pot size and lighting schedule.

Random Thoughts: Evolution

This gardening passion is very much an evolutionary thing, or at least it has been for me. Granted, I've had some spectacular changes happen and I'm still adapting and figuring out where it all fits. Slowly but surely things are falling into place.

One of those things just happened at Atrain's. I realized that my discord with my grow is because I'm not listening to my desire to return to the simplicity of growing autos in LOS no-tills under 18/6 lighting. Atrain has more than proven the potential of such a plan. I already know from experience the simplicity and potential success.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the plants I'm running now, but I'm lazier than all this. :laughtwo: Give me two to three autos growing in living soil and I can spend my time taking prettier pictures and researching principles of no-till gardening. It's been too long since I shared anything like that here. Remember that first grow in the closet? Two autos, 18/6 lighting all the way, LOS no-till, almost water only, Lights EVERYWHERE. * giggle * So much fun. :laughtwo: I realized at Atrain's that this is what I really want, and the only thing holding me back from that simplicity is me.

I'll grow out through the Jamaican Dream. I'll figure out what else to run with her. :hmmmm: Could throw her into a big pot, since she'd have so much space available and let her go big and wild. Duggan would love to help me do her big. That would be fun.

Sorry guys, middle of the night. :laughtwo: Going to bed very soon.

Until the Jamaican Dream is finished I can run autos in the tiny closet. See how well that worked out? Seamless transition. I love it when the universe lets me in on the solutions before I crash and burn. Hahaha!

Good night guys. I think I may have solved a crucial piece of the mystery of who Susan is. What an interesting life. I'm tired.

Goodnight.

Geez- I could have told you that Sue. But wouldn't have cause who am I to say what you want or don't want? I feel plenty of unease about my soilless growing situation too- but as long as I'm learning and moving forward it's all good. I feel unease looking at people like UncleCannabis growing amazing plants organically in soil and mostly just adding water. Graytail's plants made me very uneasy too - lost a lot of sleep over them, so I can relate to the call of high Brix. Evolution takes time and let's hope we've got lots of it because I'm sure going to need it to do 10% of the growing stuff that I want to.

I'll let you in on a secret Weaselcracker, which, after I tell it won't be very secret anymore will it? :laughtwo: After almost every one of Graytail's updates I send him a PM telling him how seriously intimidating I sometimes find him. In truth he's been an inspired mentor. I'll never be able to repay him the kindness, and his tolerance of my constant questioning shall remain between us. Thank you Graytail

Growing plants Graytail's way is a structural technique that also ties in a bit of personal magic. I swear there's a pouch somewhere.... I feel certain I can do that with the plants I can run under my plan.

You, my friend, are doing an amazing job. Keep it up.

Still awake hey Sue? Ha ha. I may crash soon myself as I've got to get up all too soon.
Yeah those plants are intimidatingly amazing. I haven't read through GT's journal enough to know whether I should be intimidated by his growing technique and setup or not. Maybe it's mostly lots of experience, and the magic touch, and the pouch of secret dust?
Anyway... What do you do when people come along and feel intimidated by your knowledge and plants? Tell them not to be, of course- it's more fun that way. It's the fact that I have not enough time to do it all that intimidates me. So I'm just trying to enjoy what I'm doing in the meantime. I've learned more since joining 420 than I did in the years previous -so I look at 420 as a cannabis growing escalator/time machine of sorts.
No time machine to give me more sleep so I'd better grab a couple hours. Goodnight Sue ❤️

JuanCarlos shared one of his secrets for drenches with me today. He discovered that these 2 1/2 quart paint buckets you can get at the big-box hardware stores for less than $3 apiece will hold a one gallon plastic pot with room for drench. As soon as I spotted them I could see how they'd work with the right-sized pot. I wanted to share the idea because it might be just what someone is looking for, and when he suggested it I thought "Why didn't I think of that?"

image32748.jpg

Unfortunately, they won't work for me because I'm using the fabric Geo Pots and azalea pots, both of which are too big to fit these pails, so mine are going back tomorrow. I think they have a bucket just a little bigger that might work for me. If not, I'm going to roam the store and see what else I can find that might work. All I need is two. This time I'll take pots with me for fitting. That's ok. It gives me another reason to go to Lowe's. Love that store. So many creative ideas pop while I roam their aisles. :laughtwo:

Dollar stores and thrift stores have yielded amazing purchases for me. I bet you could find something to fit your pots for a dollar.

But of course :) Yes she is a tiny little 'dancer' in your words :P Tiny yet you can see she is going to be one chunky monkey, for her small height she will make up in girth for sure. I think in my case its just the small pot, she's in a 1L pot so very small. My light schedule for her is 12/12, she seems to enjoy her small home so I'm happy if shes happy :)

Awe thanks Susan!! I had a fun time trying to take the photo! Took 4 bowls and about an hour to get the shot. There was quite the evolution of photos. This was my favorite.

 thanks for the love
