The Hexapus's Garden

I get mold under the dome when I accidentally get water on the leaves... tho this doesn't happen in winter for me. The plant will start rotting at the stem junction... probably because the water might pool in the Y a bit.
When winter hits and the humidity drops, the cloning world changes for me. I find that a closed dome is called for during winter. Of course, my domes are literally just resting on the top of the perlite chunks... so there probably a touch of air exchange anyway.

Hey there Weasel.. Lookin good!

~Mama Thai~

At 53 days, or 7 and 1/2 weeks- a little over halfway. A little yellow in real life but she's making me happy and budding well.

~Malawi~

After 11 days in flowering, and a week or so since I've messed with her, she's starting to stretch. The highest branch is about 14" above the screen.

I lashed her down again.

I'm partly posting this Malawi scrog process for Spitz who is scrogging one somewhere I believe.

Heya friend,, cheers to ya,, thai looks wonderful, great job so far, 15 to 16 weeks, an eternity for a fruit fly,,glad I am not one,, you either,, haha, cheers agin,, gonna make some weaselhead hash this aft,, will be thinking of you friend,, cheers agin

I'm in love with that Mama Thai, she's really fattening up and has all the curves I love in a woman. I didn't realise that you had LST'd her rather than scrogged, you did a good job whatever you did and she looks like she'll pay you back with kindness for it. Buds galore! All the best mate :thumb:

My Thai Stick is at 15 weeks and looking pretty sad.
Not sure what I did to her.
Here's the new one. Not sure what I'll do differently to try and keep her happy, but I'll try PotChimp's advice and feed her less.

Here's the old one.

I'm not liking the looks of her buds- looks like one of those reveg tricks.

A couple samples from the hexapus garden.

~Super lemon haze cross~

Kind of a nice citrusy smell though I couldn't call it lemon.

This second one reminds me somehow of the slh pictures I would see in your garden, Nivek. :thumb:

~Critical Cheese~

Crazy yellow but she still has a little of her former dignity left. Very very sticky too, though the buds are a little underdeveloped in size -presumably from whatever it is I've been doing to make her so jaundiced.

The doodad on the wall at the outlet.... with the spiral on top and a knob on the front..... thermo power controller perhaps for some fans?
If it is a thermo doodad... I'm a fan. Old school. No fancy circuit boards or sensors.

Yes

those thingies seem good. I have one in the veg room too. Long time, many falls -no break.
Thanks for the warning Tead on the mold. I know it looks that way - in real life though the bud seems too dry to get any issues but I'll take a second look anyway. I'll harvest this plant soon, I expect the buds won't be getting any better.

Thanks Nivek.
I'm sure we are a lot like fruit flies too in many ways.

I made a bunch of that type of hash a few weeks back, out of sativa trimmings- trying to work out an ideal time to let the mix settle- when hash is mostly fallen but that slimy vegetable haze hasn't started to fall on the hash yet.
Glad your hip's ok.
Well- good enough to still type, at any rate. Lol (?). I remember you mentioning you plan to look into some cbd strains.

Those are some beastly bushes brother!

Thank you Lex. It isn't perfection in terms of plant health but I'm really liking how my garden looks these days in terms of all the variety going on. Makes me feel more complete somehow than the scrog-only did.

Yep, I just used pipe cleaners Kriaze as you can see. It turned out it was easy to Lst her. Mama Thai is a really nice plant, and grows satisfyingly large looking buds which stroke the pleasure centre of a growers brain. I really like almost everything about this strain. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well she turned around in flowering after all the curly leaf action in veg and has been chugging right along ever since.
You're right, that's going to be a nice pile of bud.

I smoked a lot of Mama Thai today....
:lot-o-toke:
Hmmmmm....almost 6am.
I should make some attempt to go to sleep, I guess.

Friends

Hey weasy,
Just registered a few days ago but I've been reading your journals for months! Green hole was a blast, finally caught up on the hexapus.
I think we're sort of neighbors, I too smoke a lot of salmon and deal with insanely high humidity... can't wait to see how this journal finishes up!
Trying to get my post count up so I can start my own journal, it'll be a short one since I'm already at 6 weeks flower, but all the same.
Thanks for a good read and a lot of entertainment! Learned a lot along the way too.

I knew we were neighbours as soon as I saw your name... Gave me a little fright actually- I thought it might be the ghost of something come to haunt me.
Thanks, and welcome.
Do you really need 50 posts to start a journal? I'm pretty sure not. I thought it was just to PM.

Ha, the ghost of fishing past!
If I don't need 50 posts to start a journal, I better get it cooking... thanks I didn't know I could start a thread yet.
I'm writing it all on the phone and uploading will take ages, something I think we have in common, but I would love feedback on my grow and share what I've learned on the journal. I'll send an invite when it's up!

In a one gallon hempy pot- this little plant got all 'yellered up' at the beginning of flowering like nearly everything else in the room. Ph troubles mostly I think. Since I put a couple bubblers in the res, ph has been more stable, plus I've been around a little more lately to keep an eye on it. The hex plants have improved a lot in the last few weeks and are flowering fine. Next time I'll do some things differently, including veg them larger before flowering- I'm guessing the hempy could easily handle a plant three times this size. This was another trial run...
I like the look of the buds on this one and she smells lovely.

hey 420 peeps , quick question ..... i harvested my chem dog #4 and let them dry until the small stem attached to each bud cracked (not bent) cracked .....today they went straight into mason jars for cure and burp. i went to burp the jars today and noticed that some moisture had returned to the buds. is this ok ? how do you dry , cure and burp ? thanks :Namaste:

Hey. Yes it's normal for that to happen. Grab a little digital hygrometer (usually they come as a combo hygrometer/thermometer). Get one that will fit in your jar. They're cheap and IMO the best way to judge the situation.
Anything under 70 RH and you should be safe against mold. (70 is a little high though). Usually when I put bud in the jar it reads in the mid 60s (after sitting overnight to stabilize). The burping process during curing gradually brings it down. I usually bring mine down to around 60 RH.
