The Girl Who Drank The Moon

Beautimus. New growth on the baby looks perfect!

Thank you Shed.

If you prune, maybe it is better to wait a few days for flip?

Nah, If I wait she will just grow all of the leaves back that I just pruned off. LOL

She is so beautiful... Are you giving her some steroids? ;)

No steroids, but she damn sure is burning up from this hot ass soil though.

We don't have ratepayers to buy us new electrodes though, and I never see them in dumpsters ;).

LOL

 They are so cheap too. 600-700$ apiece.

Ouch. My meter cost me 49 bucks. When the electrode goes bad I will be chucking the whole meter in the dumpster and purchasing a new one.

Awesome Retrix!! Glad to see that nice healthy green in the new growth! They'll pray like never before after the flip, if I had to guess :thumb:

Thanks Laquer. She looks a lot better, however after this grow, all of this soil is getting dumped in my garden.
I purchased this from build a soil:

It has all of the ingredients that you listed for your soil. The instructions say to use 2 to 4 cups in 2 cu ft of soil. I'm done with the Dr. Earth and will be using this from now on. Thank you guys for all of your help and advice.

48 hours of darkness.

I continue to have issues with yellowing that must be remedied with magnesium foliar sprays, but that's ok because this soil will never again be used for cannabis plants once this is done.
After pruning the damaged leaves from both plants, I watered them heavily, and placed them in 48 hours of darkness. Today was their first day of 12/12.

Into what soil will you be adding your 2-4 cups?

Congrats on the flip...let the fun begin!

I'm going to stick with what works by using Happy Frog, and amending it with the build a soil. And yes, I can't wait to see if GSC looks like the pictures.

My petty traumas--
still, these bones are mine.

November 29, 2018

I do apologize for not updating. I have been busy with family and all of the stress that it brings sometimes.
I hope you all had a great thanksgiving.
There is a lot to get to due to my negligence so...

First, I built my soil from build a soil, but only after discovering that to properly build it, I not only needed the Craft Blend Nutrient Pack that I purchased, but to properly build a soil you also have to purchase a mineral pack. I chose the Mineral Pack for Peat-moss.

The Craft Blend Nutrient Pack instructions state to add 2 to 4 cups per 2 cubic feet of soil.
The Mineral Pack states to add 8 Cups per 2 cubic feet.
With all of the yellow fuckery that has been going on, I opted to go with the more 'conservative' measurement and added 2 cups of the Nutrient Pack and 4 cups of the Mineral Pack.

I wet it down with a gallon of water, to which I added 1 tsp of Great White and mixed thoroughly.
I will let the soil sit inside the house for 1 month as the build a soil instructions state.
Again thanks guys for the help with this.

I have to admit that I have been neglecting these plants. I watered them once last week and hardly looked at them until Tuesday. I just got sick of all of the yellow. I decided to water them with Great White, hoping that maybe it would do something to stop this crap, and closed the tent up.

This morning, I opened the tent and Zena looked like this

She does look good in these pictures, however I have seen this before, only to see her turn yellow again in 3 days. You will have to excuse me for remaining pessimistic.

Luna. I just don't know what to think about this chick. She is even worse. I have been actually lugging her ten gallon pot (never again) to the bathtub, and then going back and forth for hours dumping filtered water on her over and over again with a 2 gallon water jug. She starts turning green immediately, then by the time her pot dries out she is yellow again. That got old fast, then I just started turning the shower on and letting it spray into the pot for 2 hours at a time.

On top of that, she looks like a jungle and I know that I need to prune her again, but I feel like I just went through this with her.

I'm not sure if the Great White has had any affect on her at this point. At any rate, I stopped making excuses and decided to give her hopefully, one last pruning. It seems that the new leaves underneath are a little greener but I can't really tell for sure.

While pruning her, I noticed that there are pistils forming. So with that, we now have an estimated harvest date of January 6, 2019. Zena seems to have a few more days to go before she gets hers.

I said this last grow and I'll say it again: artificial nutes. If you don't have the perfect soil yet then there is no reason to struggle to make the plant (and you happy) with water and foliar sprays. Feed her what she needs and get another great harvest. There is no shame in using what so many of us use to produce great buds!

Even Van who grows POTM candidates every month sometimes struggles with a batch of soil and has to top dress or cal-mag.
