The Girl Who Drank The Moon

Got it, thanks! She doesn't do the 4.0 like she did the 7.0 though. She pulls it out when it says 4.1, then presses it again and it says 4.0 flashing and she takes it out .

Her instructions do seem to be a little confusing at times. A more simple version is just hold down the calibration button until the screen starts blinking, then dip it into the 7.0 solution until you see the smiley face. Then press the calibration button once to lock in the setting. Then repeat for the 4.0 and then the 10.1 last and you should be good.

LOL! It'd be nice if they did it the same way twice. I should also try doing this at night rather than in the morning when I am rushing to mix the nutes and get to work close to when I'm supposed to be there .

I have had my pen for over 3 years. When I calibrated it, it was off by about 1 hundredth of a point on 4.0 and about 2 hundredths at 7.0 It translated to my filtered water PH reading at 7.5 versus 6.8 to 7.0 after the calibration.

You mean it showed your water nearly 0.7 lower after calibration? o_O

I wonder how far off I am...

Yes. and it is probably due to the pen falling over and all of the storage solution draining out. That happened a few months ago. I've heard of these pens holding their calibration for years if the tip is kept in the solution. I keep mine in a glass on the shelf now.

I fill mine up to the fill line with skunk labs pH pen storage solution. Who knew there was such a thing a year ago! It lives in the measuring cup I keep next to the nute bottles. Upright!

Perfect.

I'm just unable to figure out the cannabis plant. I am so good at growing vegetables, fruit trees, blueberries, all of the houseplants look gorgeous, and all of them in the same soil, but the cannabis plant? Nope. Nothing but problems. They aren't weeds, they are finicky, hard to grow specimens that's what they are.
You got this they look great. Not every leaf will be perfect every time. Maybe in hi brix?
If you can grow a huge plant that was in a black garbage bag you can rescue this one!
Worst case scenario throw them out back in a trash bag for a couple of weeks hahahaha.
More simple to you! Still seems like a crazy horticultural game of scavenger hunt to me :)
Failed almost with my first los attempt. Was a scavenger hunt in the sticks for items in the dead of winter hahaha
:rofl: the treasure is worth it! It was kinda a headache though at the beginning, not gonna lie!
Will try this recipe next time in soil. Be awhile:passitleft:

LOL Kismet. I ordered one of the pre mix packs from build a soil. I'm just going to use that next time.

It's time to flip.
November 16, 2018

The plants have turned themselves around it looks like. Plus, Luna's pot is almost dry after what, 3 days? I'm going to do her pre flower pruning and maybe flip them tomorrow. Luna is getting uncomfortably tall now.

She is so beautiful... Are you giving her some steroids? ;)

About calibrating pH meters.

I have a lot of experience with that. Remember, work at a water plant. The main issues with trouble to calibrate is the temp of the solutions and the electrode. The solutions should always have the same temperature as the probe for accurate calibration. It can show wrong even if the solution you want to measure is at a different temperature than the calibration solutions.

If you cant get a good calibration after like 3 or more tries. Exchange the electrode. They are very delicate and get worn by time. We exchange electrodes once every 6 mounths, calibrate them 3 times. Even the calibration wears them off.

We don't have ratepayers to buy us new electrodes though, and I never see them in dumpsters ;).

 They are so cheap too. 600-700$ apiece. The old ones had pure silver in them. One of my colleges used to save them for the silver thread. A few years back when we disposed of dangerous goods I found 0,5L of mercury in a pet bottle, that was pretty heavy for a pet. I wounder what that person was saving it for?
