The Emerald City

Well at least we know what your barometric pressure is! Or the time. Or something.

Temperature my man, 73 is the air temperature in the garage. How's it going with your new tent? I haven't skimmed thru at your place in a few days.

Late Spring & Summer temps made me nervous, I used the Galileo Therm til I got the digital and now it just floats around. What you may be talking about is a Storm Glass. I have one of those, too. Not that impressive for me though, it's always sunny here accept for maybe 10 days a year... It works by measuring atmospheric pressure to predict incoming weather. The crystals indicate a change in the pressure

Looks like incoming rain, I love when we get real weather, It's always sunny and blue hairs where I live!

It’s actually very versatile and takes great portraits as well as being decent for landscape as well. Mostly I use it for plant macros and portraits and some insect/spider photography as well.

I have to check back on that thread. I pitched, but I can’t manage to do daily updates so I think that rules me out.
What developments have there been?

On another tangent - do you use physical lens filters very much or at all Age?

:Namaste:

I love my Macro, it's becoming my go to lens for the plants, but I like the wide angle lens too, you can get some cool perspectives!

I haven't seen any developments, but I noticed a couple of members have mentioned being gifted lights or have some new products that they're starting grows with. The Law of Parsimony applies itself... Have you seen the movie 'Contact,' with Jodie Foster?

I love tangents, catch me high sometime!

Filters...?

There was a time when I had numerous, now a days I keep my circular polarizer handy. The White Balance options on board are pretty cool, but 3 daylight modes seems excessive, and two of them are just different shades of yellow (cloudy and shady).

I can think of 8 filters off the top of my head, I use the Kelvin adjusted to my photo/ flower tent, like we talked about in Urbs thread, and the Custom WB for the Auto/ Veg tent. I do like that there are two Manual WB features!

When I want something different I just push/ hold a couple buttons and spin the wheel. Using those specialty filters may come at cost.

At one point I was thinking about picking up a florescent filter, there's a few densities available but with the custom WB there's really no need, IMO.
I plan to lol!:passitleft:

:ganjamon:

I shot this one at the fair on Presidents day. Such a beautiful day, Sunny and low 60's, just how i like it!

The one in the pink dress at 2 o'clock is my 2nd.

No clue but i think it has to do with liquid density and water displacement. Different floats have different weights, and hang at different heights in the water column. The medallions have numbers in 2 deg incraments.

This was actually the design and the Northern Lights Top is a pretty aggressive grower. I've been laying her down since she got good roots. But none of that matters now.

I was adjusting lights and no I didn't move the plant first. Yes I dropped two, not one light onto this plant. FUCK!!!!!!! I'll explain why there are no pictures in a second.

I ran to grab a memory card, brush my teeth, and get some electrical tape. Went back in and did what needed to be done.

Memory card in hand to the computer and the files won't load, cant just move them to my computer. Nothin.

No more Nikon talk...

Did somebody symbiosis?

Best I could do after the fact was the phone, and it looks like nothing happened. I was about to give a regular feeding when this happened, I was looking at the lights and oh hey if I just... Splinted, defol, and fed. I guess she must have just gotten twisted cause she's ship shape now with no more tape.

Unbelievable!

Cool - That’s great it fits your camera! :thumb:

Which macro lens?? Or did I miss something.

Age that TWA looks delish.

You're gonna like it!

You have a lap lane in your pool?? Bud washing lol never thought of doing it in a pool.

Chop dunk hang. done! Well cept for trimming. Lol

I got a question about filters. I just bought a UV-IR cut filter due to my excessive amount of RED spectrum from my 1750k COBs I run (looks like mars). Ever try one of those ?? I've sorta been using the built in filter on my Nikon but thinking maybe a physical filter will be better?

My battery was low the other day and affected the built in filtering as it didn't work very well so got me thinking to get an actual physical filter. They can get pricey. Started looking at a few in the $150+ price range. I didn't go all that far. lol

The only readon i bought a polarizer is b/c its not a filter thst can be digitally made up.

Not sure bout a $150 filter, unless you just dont care, but i’d try the custom WB. Check yout manual for that one. Not familiar with anything other than my Canon. As for a macro lens theres prolly a few to choose from, glass is the most importsnt part of a lens, detrrmines price.

Lay it flat? i dont like tieing to the tent, too easy to shred a plant. Sticking to the plan for now and at last check i could move her to the broken side but shes growing fine.

WOW!!! Check it out, I can't believe she's still standing!

  1. Flatten her out or snap the main to slow her down & let the rest catch up, the choice is yours.
  2. Not the most efficient way to super crop, you should head over to the Shed.
  3. What did she do to you?
  4. Looks like you told her twice!

Ok that last one was uncalled for.
