The Emerald City

The busted Northern lights is taped and layed down flat as im willing to push her. Pretty gnarly gash and cant wait to see the knuckle she gonna grow.

Prestretch defol, first hairs for all three over last 2 days. Never tried before but im hoping to have all my tops picked out before stretch is done. Katins did a micro grow he shaped her early, new ideas.

Three weeks in the easy bake oven and she'll be ready for another hair cut. Steady as she goes.

I don't quite understand the theory here. You take off a load of fans knowing that the plant will spend the next three weeks working hard replacing them. To what end?
It’s one of those techniques I am not entirely buying into. Both from a skeptical point of view but also because my soil seems to prune them for me.

I too prefer to leave all the engines and storage facilities alone. I have read enough from the other points of view to believe there is a benefit from defoliation but it’s not for me.

I appreciate the input, guess i’ll find out.
I think some folks are getting more vigor and thicker plants than me. Which makes it a different ballgame.

Edit: although come to think of it, I think I tried some removal of lower down shoots that came out of the nodes but left the fans. To prevent further small shoots from going to the canopy.

I have tested it before you take and defol one of the main branches all the way to the end and in my experience the defol branch will have less and smaller buds imo!

What I saw in Katins Journal was a heavy defol at flower or more likely at 3 weeks. My idea is two fold: Control growth where I want it and avoid disease/ bugs etc. I went into the NL's and picked out some of the inner growth and touching, smaller leaves. You know those little baby tops that grow crazy in the first few days of flower/ post-flip. I may have stripped too many Fans but I was really trying to isolate all the branches I want to keep'n'see grow.

Also, and more importantly avoid wPm. I had in my first grow and never truly got rid of it until I shut down in October. That issue coupled with the white flies is gone now. I use alcohol, I empty the trash can regularly, spray the can with alcohol too. You know, just tryin to stay cleaner. I use frisbees for coasters under my 5G pots with smaller drain catches from smaller pots underneath, and upside down, to keep the Pots raised up. I drain and clean after each feed, then mist alcohol around the base of each pot and into the catch. It's reduced my FG issue and doesn't seem to affect the plants either. I don't use it on the Eco Pots.

I didn't go to too crazy and I may have done more damage than good on the Berry Bomb. She's definitely more leggy than the NL's, but I opened her up a little and I think it'll promote some lower growth. The reason I decided to move forward with this idea is because of the NL I flattened out (6Pack). As I was stretching her out and doing LST I noticed all the inner/ lower growth, that's when i started pick pick pick pick pick pick. I've seen the quad-lining idea but unsure of its execution.

So there's my dissertation/ disclaimer on why I did what I did... :reading420magazine: :Namaste:

Question for you about clones Shed.

The leaves are all turned up weird and I can't seem to see any roots anywhere. The leaves are also yellowing. Hopefully she's pulling off the leaves to make roots.

How often do you mist your clones?

I left these two uncovered for the past 36 hours

Look at'em all misty eyed.

Is she thirsty for a spritz?

I never mist my cuttings. When I first put them in the ProMix I spray the inside of the domes and that's it. The evap from the soil (yours looks dry in the de-domed one) keeps the inside of the dome wet. Even after I take the domes off for 30 minutes they mist up again from the soil on the heat mat at 80º.

I never have the domes off for 36 hours unless I see roots all over the cup. Then they're just off. If you have green leaves after 36 hours there is no need for the dome on that one..new growth on top is green. But it looks dry to me so I would distilled water it. Once I see a root system, it's full strength nutes for me.

Have you been de-doming the others for 30-45 minutes at a time? I did that over the weekend (30 minutes off, an hour on, etc.) and last night I left them like this, as they will stay until I see a root riot happening down below:

Are you leaving the bottom of the soda bottle exposed to light?

Nice trichomes, cute baby!

That's a lot of maintenance for some clones, damn. I'll cover up the 2 liter coco but for now it's only been there a minute. I think I could prolly leave the domes off all of them, but it's chilly in the garage. I leave the domes off for half the day and then on over night, about 12/12 for that schedule. I guess I need to pay closer attention to those directions!

That baby is my first.

1 more week!

This question is for anyone.

Did you see it yet?

Clue, you won't find what you're looking for.

That's 8 of them (3, 3, and 2)! I also have four other cuttings already rooted and the original top I took off when I quadlined it, all in solo cups just behind them :).

If you're close you're welcome to take some home! I just clone these for fun. I don't have room to grow them out.
