The DIY COB Addiction

Hey y'all. There's a lot of info on this thread. I have a question. Are the Phillips Leds even better than the blurples? Just a thought

That's reason I'm using gorilla 5x5 with extensions, I have 10ft ceilings. The other makers, 6 and 7 ft.

That has to suck, go to renting. Everything would have to be modular, easy to take apart

I put an add up as a joke. The first day I had 10 people respond back. Figured out the licensing for Oregon that day. Grand. I'm outta Humboldt. Hate this place. Not 2 grand. Have one with the 1010 without discount is 750. 3030 comes out to 859. Other than that, Told the owner, I have to pay for a new door to each room to have the exhaust come out. Boxes on the outside. Pay for new carpet in advance. Put this on the floor. Pond Liners - BillboardVinyls and rock and roll.

Actually looks cheaper to bolt two 3060's on my design for 10'. I'm talking to Brian about structural integraty. 50 gallons at a foot off the ground, plus pots, plus plants is easily 600 pounds. 3030 is rated pretty sure at 800lbs per square foot with only these holding up the tray... 13186 . I don't believe it, which is why my setup is total overkill. If it is overkill. Save 200 on that 850.

That was kinda a joke. The cost of it would be way too much. If you did have the extra cash and I kinda do. It's 54" wide. Basically, I am a hydro guy, and my trays are 53" botanicare's. But if you have the extra scrub, it might not be a bad idea. Panels on dimmers, pucks on a dimmer, and put the sections of three's on 240-1750?'s Drivers is where I start to get confused. So if I was crazy enough to do that just to gain 6" of light. Your talking 4 240-1750's, something to run the boards, and one to run the far red's. Total overkill but it would give you total control if you could keep up with it.

I have to build 8 of these things so I want to get it right. With things changing on a daily basis and just finding out that the price of cbx3590's just dropped by a quarter, I do not know what to do. I know this is lame, but let me throw up a few photos of my homemade tent I'm building also.

Sorry. Don't think I answered the original question. My frame is aprox 111" x 53" x 95.5", but that is two sections at 54" x 53" x 95.5". I wanted to be able to snap it together for a room sized at 11 1/2' x 11 1/2' like this with a 2 x 4 section in the middle of the two. Put the first side up, put up the other side, then snap in the middle.

Can any one help me looking for 4x4 space, I've watched tons of utube videos and read threads. Looking for the best flowering for please any ideas???

Best flowering is a combination of lights, humidity, temperature, nutrition, and patience -- how is your humidity and temperature?

It's around 40-50% since I got my a/c. I have my all my other variables u dee control worried about my light output and wanted to get and exact set up with the x-lamps not sure witch ones to pair with what ballasts. Please help

Hi newgrowr. I'm no expert but I've just built my own COB lighting system. I'd suggest using the CXB3590 chips and a Mean Well HLG series driver. You probably need 600-800W. The chips will run up to almost 130W apiece at max current but you want to run them softer to get the best out of them.

16 chips at 1400mA would be about 800W so 50W/square foot which is ample. In this case you'd need 4 HLG-185H-C1400 drivers. (approx 135000 lumen)

You could run 9 chips at 2100mA for just over 650W on 3 HLG-240H-C2100 drivers. (approx 95000 lumen)

Peace
