The Deep Water Culture Home

Hey guys,
I'm setting up my new cab,and I decided to go w/ Mylar on the walls. My prob is that I used contact cement, and now it is all dimpled. I think is may be the glue, because of how the bottle spits instead of spraying.
My Q is should I take it down and start over, or just leave it. My other option is some Plexiglas mirror that seems to reflect pretty good.:thankyou:

Going to the hydro store tomorrow to pick up nutes for my DIY DWC res. Can anyone recommend some idiot proof nutes besides AN?? They are a bit pricey. I was thinking the Recipe For success kit, but I would have to order that online. I am getting impatient waiting to start my grow... :)

The Botanicare line is pretty easy to use and is slightly cheaper than AN. I use Botanicare and have a great feeding schedule, if you decide to go that route.

I don't think that will effect it that much, that you should start over. My mylar is not smooth by any means, but it still refelcts just fine.

I do believe they have that at my local hydro store. My biggest fear is killing my garden, I am counting on your Deep Water Culture to help me NOT make that happen.

Let me know if you go that route and I will send you the feeding schedule I have. It makes it very easy and unlike the schedules that the nutrient companies supply, it is realistic.
 
Since we are talking about nutes I figured I ask if anyone has had heard of Cutting Edge Solutions. I won a contest at Worms Way, That came with their 3-part, plus 3 additives(Plant amp, Mag Amped, And Uncle John's Blend 0-0-2). The 3-part are nutes are about 10.00-12.00, and the additives are about 30.00. I haven't had any deficiencies. Also my fan leaves never yellow. They stay green and healthy till harvest.

I'm trying to get it controlled!
So far it looks like I got my PH probs controlled. :yahoo:
My PH is still fluctuating, but it's been between 5.9 (when I add my chilled water) to about 6.8 (before adding the water). But I'm chalking that up to the plants eating the nutes and the temp issues.

As far as the chiller, I'll have to see.
Right now I am not spending another penny until I see something out of what I've already spent.

I gotta take some pics, the plants are much bigger than they were on Sunday. Even the runt that I was going to kill off is getting a little bigger!
It may actually survive yet! :woohoo:
 
I have nothing to add to the nute questions. I am starting my first grow with DWC as soon as I get my rockwool, seedlings started, and clones from my dispensary. I am really interested in an idiot proof easy feed schedule for a 1st timer...

I'm using the same nutes here ol hippy, I topped out at about 60-70% strength of the reccomended feeding schedule

I should be able to get 2 full crops out of a quart each of sensi bloom a&b and the AN bigbud. from my perspective, it's worth the cost

I'm getting close to dry enough to taste my first completed grow, still have to allow curing time, but I can taste :ganjamon:
 
Hi everyone. Hope all is well with all you Deep Water Culture :). Im having a problem with my strawberry haze that has come on suddenly. Im having a hard time figuring it out and its not the first time I've encountered this problem. If anyone has some time to take a look at my post I would appreciate any input greatly. Thanks everyone!

Man, I gotta learn to keep my big mouth shut! :icon_roll

I go check the tent this morning, and it feels as if someone turned the heat up! The biggest of the 3 fans in the tent burnt out! :whoa:
Damn! Now I gotta go buy another fan! :loopy:
 
I have a question for anyone who can answer, my PPM hasn't gone down for a day or so but their drinking a gal a day. I've been adding ph'd water without nutes, tomorrow is res change day any suggestions ? The plants look fine but I'm worried that their not uptaking any nutes !? Thanks guys !!:wood:

Sounds like they are using the nutes at about the same rate of water, unless your ppm is climbing. I experience this several times a grow with each crop. Also it is important to keep in mind that some of the ppm in your res is due to waste products as well. Plants like to eat different things and amounts at different times just like us.:yummy:
 
I'm not too worried as tomorrow is res change day for them ...everythings going so good this grow I was starting to get worried !!:wood: normally my ppm goes down every day a bit !
 
MC, Plants look great just worried that they may not be eating ! I usually add nuted water at about 800-900 ppm, in the morning the ppm was 900 and water was about a gallon down..I added 1 gal of PHd 5.8 water with only a bit of cal-mag.
