The Deep Water Culture Home

sorry for your lost man, can you take a pic of the split area?

Give it time! Unless the branches are almost completely torn off it has a chance for a comback. YOu can also tape a bad break and even splint it if severe.

The girls are sleeping right now & they REALLY need their beauty rest. I did try to tape them up a few minutes after. Don't know why I thought a few movies could teach me how to torture my babies like that...I feel awful about it. I am a horrible plant-mom...

No man, it happens to the best of us. Look, it not too late... I split one thick secondary off half way threw flowering and it was flopping down. I just put it in its correct postion and taped it til the tape supported it. I never noticed a slowing of growth. Hopefully it wont be too late or irreparable.

Thanks. I sure hope it's not too late. They were doing so well, too well which is why I had to try super-cropping.,

If i'm using technaflora nutes...would it be an issue if I also added tiger bloom (from fox farm) as a foliar feed according to fox farms schedule?

Personally, I would start ANY additive at low strength to see how the plants tolerate it & increase gradually. Just MHO

Some of the bottles have a comatible chart somewhere on the bottle that should tell you if it is!
Couldn't find one on any of the foxfarm bottles or their website...I'll check out technafloras tomorrow!

Yeah I think tomorrow..when i do my rez change ill give it a shot. If it dosent go well then i know for next time...:rasta:

Hubebaba, jonnyb, and MC are absolutely right. I was victim to the same dramatic experience with "wilma" (my biggest plant) one of her biggest branches was split all the way down to the main stem BARELY hanging on by some skin, i taped her up with some scotch tape, and 5 days later she had a huge knuckle at the junction (check it out). these plants are extremely durable, you'll be ok don't worry your a great plant mom! lol.
Question for you guys, how, and when are you supposed to flush? is it with just regular water?

I've snapped a secondary off. Taped it back on with masking tape. It was even taped on back to front and it was ok.:grinjoint: You'll get the hang of super-cropping. I use my thumbnail to crease the stem and then bend towards the creased side not away from it. I find that if you don't make the bends any lower than 2 1/2in - 3in from the tips the stems are still pretty soft. If you go lower it's older, thicker and more brittle therefore more likely to break.
You'll soon get a feel for it.:peace::grinjoint:

Grafting is basically taking two different cultivars/strains (pieces) of plants and taking one branch and grafting it onto the other plant.

Grafting is pretty non-existent in pot cultivation and soft wood plants. Taping branches is not grafting.

Yea its not EXACTLY grafting..of corse but the same principles apply..
Yea who grafts marijuana but it will work by taping it.Grafting- you make the tissues of one plant are encourage to fuse with those of another...This FORM of grafting you do it with the same plant. So lemme correct myself...FUSING BRANCHES.:grinjoint:

Thanks PD, I just don't want to walk into my local dispensaries and start having people tell me they grafted pot clones. I grafted Japanese Maples for many years. Stoners will almost believe anything that references pot. :peace:

GN,

Lots of debate on flushing. This grow I'm not flushing at all and so far I see little if any difference in the smoke. I've also seen on a couple of strain decription in the seed catalogs that turning out the lights completely for the last week or so can increase the trich production. Done that before also and they do get "fuzzier" but that may have happened with the lights on as they develop a lot in the last couple of weeks anyway. It's really experimental but can do no harm. Have fun!

Hey fellow Deep Water Culture! I was a member on the "other" forum, and now that I found you again, I am back like a bad penny! :byebye:

You're going to find this place much different. More adult mature peaceful members are here. The MODs are actually very helpful here and enfore the rules very fairly and prudently too. Glad to see you here, bro. I hope you hang around.
