I couldn't agree more mate. IMO there's nothing to make up over. Now that i've posted I'm subscribed and will certainly hang around and check things out. Butcher is a great guy as are the majority here at 420mag.

Hey, that cfl fixture is doing great in my veg space! Check out my grow, I've got some pics of the new girls stuck in there, but be prepared to search, we tend to ramble a bit.

I gotta say Bubble'n creates a perfect enviorment in a veg area. I've noticed the roots get better established in dwc. Then when i pop those ladies in my E&F/NFT system they blow up. and using the cfl's along with it has just added a big plus and now that I've seen that cfl reflector...Oh sh*t its on!!!

I'm using HID reflectors for my big CFL's and they're working a treat.

thought about it. I'm planning on building the reflector that FryingPanFlyer built. But adding a couple adjustments like making it aircooled from the top so that i can use it in smaller areas.

Hey panflyer watcha think?doable?
 
so my water starting to smell a lil fishy. i just did a res change monday. and it was smelling tuesday. its not too strong but it smells. not the roots but the water it seems. any suggestions?

Yeah man, no problem, but to be honest I'm using 55w cfl's and they really don't put out much heat. I can put my hand right on the reflector and hold it there indefinitely. But there is heat, you're got to make it work for your space.

Groover, didn't I hear you say you were a, darn, I forget the term you used, I am imbibing right now you know. A design engineer of some sort. I'd like to see your take on cooling this one.

Hey, if you want to see some performance out of those check my thread, I just posted a couple new pics of the new grow, they grew three inches in the last three days so I upped the nutes a little.

Okay, I did a quick sketch, if you could fabricate a sheet metal hood that looked something along this line you could pull all the heat off the lamps. This would be a pretty cool set up.

Panflyer:Yeah kinda like that with the hood reflector. I was thinking of using a reducer for the top and just cut out the top. And just run a inline fan. Nothing crazy expensive. How does that sound?

That would probably work just fine the fixture doesn't put out that much heat anyway. Let me know how it works out for you. Put your mods on it and let's get that one on Roseman's tutorial too! I'd love to see you take it to the next level!

Oh, I have, they rock too!!!!!
I enjoy everyones threads, not just the Deep Water Culture. Heck were all just trying to refine/control nature, ie the sun, dirt, water, food, extra stanky buds. So yeah since weed has been around forever and it just wasn't invented yesterday, along with sun, water, soil, I really do try to take the time to see what everyone has to offer. Heck i prolly would of never found this group (I would call em the Deep Water Culture but that was before there was an "official" name) if I didn't go outside my comfort zone! so heres to exploring!!!!!:peace:
