The Captain's 1st 420 Grow: Blue Dream & Girlscout Cookies In Soil

What all strains you got going now?

Still with Blue Dream and Girlscout Cookies. I do have an order in for Maui Waui, Raspberry Cough, White Widow and Jock Horror.

Got me soil mixed up this evening, for the up-pot tomorrow. FFOF with 30% more perlite.

Also, picked up some bamboo to continue the training, once the gals are in the 7gal pots. Still trying to make up my mind about, whether or not to go an extra week of veg and setting them up in a scrog. Leaning towards that anyhoo.

I like to move my plants around also. Which makes the scrog a pain. I think I may sacrifice some yield for plants that can hold up their own but then I get to move them around.

In retrospect, had I gone from a Solo cup to the 7gal (I will next time), I could have done a bit better training the mains. My original intent, was to have about 20 bud sites per plant, and I should be able to make that happen still.

Up-pot to 7 gallon

Me ladies are in their final pots now, and in the 5x5 tent. Only have 2 of the 3 qb's running for now, while I monitor the heat, and adjust my extraction timing. Everything went smoothly, and I added a few tablespoons of EWC and Bat Guano to the lower 3.5 gallons of soil. Might do 2 more weeks of veg, before the switch.

Thanx! The way I have my tent set up, I can get to the plants from 3 sides, and I can easily reach to the center. I plan on using a shop-vac, to suck up any water runoff as well, so the containers will pretty much stay stationary.

Once they bounce back from the transplant, I'll be adding bamboo to continue their training. The inner branches are growing like crazy, and near canopy level.

I will post any issues I encounter, and the troubleshooting too! Ha!

Little update:

The branch I broke off BD#1 during training, is now in soil and looking good. There were Lots of BIG, Fat, fuzzy roots hanging out of the Rockwool plug.

Looking good :passitleft: nice set up, love my qbs.

Thanx! I'm glad I did my research, and stumbled across quantum boards. I can’t wait to see what they evolve into, in the near future.

The torture continues...

Tied the ladies back down this evening. They took to the transplant very well, no wilt, and very little smell from the tent. Until now that is! Ha!

Decided not to use the bamboo just yet, and used file clips to hold the rubber coated wire to the pots.

The canopy is pretty flat, and I opened up all the dark spots over new growth, without trimming a thing. The lowest inner branches will reach the top soon, and the uppers will need to be tied down.

All 3 quantum boards are running now, and the timer on my extraction is set 3min on 3min off, keeping the temps at 77°f - 83°f with 50% - 60% RH.

Well, the ladies made it 3 days before they needed some water. Hopefully, they stay there for awhile as the roots explore the new pots.

New growth looks great, and they are loving these Quantum Boards! Temps have been steady at 79°f during the "lights on" and 70°f at "lights off".

What’s the temp outside your area or tent? I have trouble keeping temps up with the quantum boards.

It's 72°f most of the time. If we get a cold (under 30°f) windy night it creeps down to mid 60's.

Last day of veg, screen set:

Well folks, the girls are moving to Bloom! I arranged them, to have the new growth fill in the blank spots during "stretch". They currently look Great! Very slight tip burn, from the last veg feeding, but the new growth is bountiful. Gave them a good "lights on" feeding today, with Calmag and 1/4 dose of Big Bloom.

Sorry to flood your alerts, just got caught back up. Are you going to use tiger bloom?
No problem! Yes, I do plan on adding Tiger bloom, but I'm gonna wait a week or so, as I'm getting a slight bit of tip burn. That's telling me that, between the soil and the ff trio + Calmag, they are getting a bit too much Nitrogen.
