The Blue Experience - Kharma Reborn

Need. Bigger. Binder. Clips!

Do you have a height restriction or is it just to keep the middle open?

Silly fungus gnats don't know a party when they see one!

Well here is the deal with my crazy looking tie down process. LOL In an ideal world, I would have a gorgeous 4x4 tent and I could let this baby grow into a nice wide UFO like The Independence Day AK47, But my room layout only affords me the option of a 4x2 tent. Because of this, I have to train my plants to grow out more to the side than round because the flowers rub up against the front and the back of the tent. It sucks but I have to live with it.

I'm in. Late like always. I'll go back and read everything over the next few days

It's no problem Derby. There are a lot of really good journals. I can only manage to follow 3 to 5 journals at once.

I have 8 pages of journals I'm trying to keep track of.

Do you mean 8 journals? or like 8 pages of links to journals? If it is the latter then Jesus Christ! lol

8 pages that update??? That's crazy. I have 7 pages total but only the first page and a half update on a daily basis.

Hey Shed when you plant your seedlings would you use a 1 gallon pot for the first stage or something smaller?

Ok caught up now. Yes 8 pages and if I miss 2 days I'm 3 pages back.
If you growing photos I would start smaller than that. I go solo cup, 1 gal plastic pot, into my 3 gal fabric pots but I'm in coco. You want them to just about get root bound and then up pot them.

Ok cool. I will use something smaller then.

I like to research strains to find out as much as I can about them before attempting to grow them. We have ample time before Kharma's reign in the spotlight is over, so I decided to do a quick search over the net to find out as much as I can about Zensation by Ministry Of Cannabis.

From the MOC Website:
Zensation Feminized
This strain can be used by those who suffer from chronic pain.

Zensation belongs to a new generation of cannabis strains. From a selective inbreeding of an extremely potent indica and a well stable white strain we finally got Zensation, the ultimate pleasure. Zensation smells of juniper and cedar. In the mouth, Zensation reveals a pronounced and complex pungent taste, with notes of berries and cherries. The effect is very long lasting and extra strong, a total relaxation of mind and body. This strain can be used by those who suffer from chronic pain. This strain is very suitable for hydro as well as bio.

Available in bags of 2, 5, 10 and 25 seeds.

Kind of seeds: Female

Indoor/Outdoor

75% Indica 25% Sativa

Flowering Time: 8-9 weeks

Yield: 450 gr per sq. mt. indoor, up to 400 gr. per plant outdoor

THC: 20-24 %

Sounds good so far. And a few reviews of the strain:

Zensation has an indica effect, relaxing your body and bringing you calm...
Review by anonymous2

Those I shared this strain with invariably complimented me on it, unaware that I grew it personally. Zensation has an indica effect, relaxing your body and bringing you calm. Although quite powerful, it kept my mind unhazed, without inducing drowsiness or couch-lock. I have had many satisfying conversations and music/film sessions under her influence. If this is the style you are looking for, I would strongly recommend this out of the several strains I have tried. I have in fact ordered it again.

The pheno of my Zen is amazing
Review by Dumb American

The pheno of my Zen is amazing. It's mold/mildew resistant, never hermies, and never gives me a seed. She blows up with hearty, vigorous fan leaves, jumps up about double-tall really quickly in flower, pops little buds and fills in nicely. She frosts up at just 2 weeks. Best bag appeal ever, amazing scent, great paing relieving qualities. The tension smooths out beginning at the base of the neck and moving over the shoulders and down the spine. My favorite thing about it is that if I harvest early, you would think it was a sativa.

Great reviews overall but unfortunately nothing about actually growing it. I searched the net far and wide to find any grow journals that I could to cover the subject of growing this strain. So far, all I have found are a few pages of grows from other sites that were incomplete.

The next step will be contacting the breeder directly. I would like to know the average size of the plants and estimated flowering period so that I can plan this out. Mainly I would like to know the average growing height and size to plan on whether I will grow 2 plants side by side or stick with a single plant. I know from plenty of information on Dutch Passion Blueberry that these plants have the potential to get fairly large so that is why I decided to grow one at a time. Blue Amnesia stays so short that I could easily get away with growing 4 of them at once.

This is why I like to start my research early so that I have an idea what to plan for. However there is still plenty of time. If any one reading this has any experience with Zensation, please feel free to share anything you have in my journal. There is also an update to Kharma incoming shortly. Stay tuned and thank you for visiting. There are a lot of journals in progress at 420 Magazine so I appreciate everyone taking the time to visit this one.

I sent Ministry of Cannabis an email to try and find out more about this strain:

To Whom it may concern,

I am starting a grow with Zensation and I have a few questions if you don't mind.

Can you tell me how tall the plants get generally and about how many weeks of flower to expect?

Thank you.

Today I received a reply:

Hi,

Zensation will take aprox 60-62 days to complete flowering and a few days less if the temperatures are particularly high.

You can expect a height of approx 90-100 cm indoor and within 130-140 cm outdoors. Large branches like the indica dominant that she is.

Greetings from Barcelona,
Ministry Of Cannabis

100 cm = 3.28 ft
62 days flower + 21 days veg = 83 days from seed.

I don't know what to think about this.

Ooooh, a 60-62 day range. That's a pretty tight window!
Well after giving it some thought. 60 days would be 8 weeks and my Blueberry is supposed to take 9 weeks so I guess it isn't too bad. I'm still debating on whether to push zensation to the back of the queue though. I mean that window sounds about right for an Auto but I would think that a regular photo would take longer than that.

My alien spaceship is at 62 days today and could be coming down this weekend, if that helps any.

That definitely helps Shed. I'm just tired of growing substandard strains of cannabis. You spend months growing and nurturing only to find that the end product sucks. That's why I usually throw the free seeds that I get with orders away now. I grew out 4 blueberry plants that I got as free seeds from sensible seeds and it was terrible. 3 months of wasted time and energy.

day eighteen flower

I noticed that some of the diodes on my cobs have burned out prematurely due to inadequate heat dissipation. I used the pre-cut strips of heat compound when I built my light. As a result, my driver is stepping down the power going to my cobs causing them to dim. I immediately ordered new Vero 29s to replace the damaged cobs. This time I will be building them using Arctic Silver which I should have done in the first damn place. Buy it nice or buy it twice.

On to more positive news, Kharma had started to slow down and wasn't progressing as fast as she usually does. I noticed a large amount of larf and immature buds and downward turned leaves under the canopy that was sucking precious life and energy from the plant. I removed a significant amount, and decided to add the Flower Girl Treatment early. We watered it into the soil with one teaspoon of honey in 1 gallon of purified water.

Kharma responded in kind by putting on noticeable growth to her flowers and is back on track. Now I just have to relax and not ruminate too much over over my lights until the LED's are switched out next week. No pictures of the light unfortunately because 420 Magazine doesn't seem to like this. But what I can do is post some beautiful bud footage:
