The Answer's Hydro Revelations

Love that phrase. Man Im so happy to be flowering Bubbles again! Nothing like how they flower

Sure right about that C5R!!! Even my burnt up mother Church plants have some good lookin buds starting to form. Lots of white hairs and trichs! The plants look like crap, but the buds.....nice!

Is posting your car tag number safe?

Yeah I thought about that(I photoshoped the state out), but I am not worried about it. Highly unlikely that anything would become of it! If the feds really wanted to find you, all they have to do is trace your IP address and there at your front door!

Hey guys, I am here again with another update! My Nextgen ballast came in yesterday, along with my Vortex powerfan and speed controller. I was dissapointed to see that the CAP Nextgen ballast is in fact made in CHINA, not USA as some people had told me! Oh well, if they are all chinese made, then I guess you just pick the best one(best warranty). It is well made and very, very small. It is lighter than my JL 400 watt car stereo amp! Here are some pics of the new stuff before and after installation.

The funny thing is, so far my grow room is 7-8 degrees cooler!!! I was using 750W of CFL's and temps were around 80 degrees. Now with just the 600W HPS they are staying around 72-73 degrees. The vortex power fan really does a great job. The air coming out is so cool, I don't even need to vent it out of the room. I just pointed it toward the ceiling to recirculate the air. I do plan to supplement with 5000K/6400K CFL's at some point, but I am just going see how they do with pure HPS for a while. The mother church plants still look sickly, but they are growing some frosty looking buds!! Update of my baby bubbletub coming next!

Here are some pics of the two Wonder Woman, one Roadrunner, one Power kush in the homemade bubbletub. They are 14 days since going into the tub. They took a while to take off, but have come to life once alot of roots started to hit the water. I am doing a reservior change today and removing the water pump, as it is no longer needed. I went to lowes and got four silver 5 gallon buckets and I plan to seperate into these, for maximum control and growth for cloning. Once I am done I'll slap them under the 600 HPS and have some huge plants!

They claim assembled in the USA. I didn't have my box when I posted before seeing the made in china on the bottom, the ballast has no made anywhere on it. So I checked there website to see and above is what I read. Anyway I'm happy with the one I've got. Hope you are too.

The new setup looks good. Now it's just fine tuning.:peace:

No offense to you my friend!! You are not the only who said they were US made. I noticed too, that they didn't put it on the ballast! I am very happy with my choice and appreciate you helping me make it! Like said, if they are all chinese then you gotta just pick the best one, right?

Hopefully it is the best one. Good to see your happy with it. It gives off very little heat, has fans that cool it, and is nice and lite! That fan should work great for cooling the bulb too as it is really powerful. Have fun with the new growing toys!

Hey Answer, one thing I notice is how high the light is, remember the inverse square law, you lamp is producing about 90,000 lumens (for hps) at 1' from the lamp, but at 3' your plants are only getting 10,000 lumens! You have to push that baby as close as you can to the plants!

Inverse Square Law:
Intensity = light output/distance squared

I = 90,000/ 9 (at 3')
I = 10,000 lumens

That's equivalent to less than 3 of my 55w cfl's

Thanks for the feedback FPF! I plan to drop it down, but I am about to rearrange the grow room, so its all just a test period right now. It is cool enough that one foot would be no problem!

I keep my 400 within 6" to 8"! I just keep a close eye on it, but the plants don't seem to mind a little burn from the lamp, though I do try to avoid it!
