The 420 Fotographer Collective: Advanced Cannabis Photography

Yeah man! My little fur babies got me through some tough times.
This is 2 of my 3... #3 is a sassy ol' hag. Not photogenic. LoL

Love those pictures! I love pets! And like you all mention they re all about unconditional love. They just willing to give you love again and again no matter what. Sometimes I wonder maybe they are here just to teach us this unconditional love as well as maybe just being able to spend the most good time possible! Dogs are always so excited about going out! Whenever you get out of the house and come back after a while or just 2 minutes they are so excited to see you! That's just impressive and inspiring

It just didn't feel right without giving my big boy Bogart his equal time in the limelight.;)

We all know how jealous pets can be

I wish my plants would get jealous and constantly try to out perform one another lmao

I absolutely adore the background lighting Cola Monster. Every now and then I’ll catch those tones, but it’s usually by chance. Do you also get inspired at the right moment, or is it set up that way in advance?

The daughter periodically scrolls through some of my posts and determines that she’s gonna start a Go Fund Me for a decent camera for me.

We’re talking about setting up a photo area for special portraits. I do so much photography on the fly, and it works for me, but I’d sure like to be turning out some finer portraiture of these girls I grow.

Had to laugh Cola Monster....a page filled with your monster colas and right there in the middle of all that wonder is a picture of one of mine that fits in my hand with room to spare.

I got to playing with the filters today

It wasn’t for any other reason than to capture the beauty of the cannabis form. I knew you’d all understand. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I've heard somewhere in the past that size doesn't matter much. Yuck, yuck!

But on a serious note, most of the photography work I do is on the fly also with no special set-ups or anything of the kind being used in which I normally just have my camera on the auto flash setting to capture whatever shot I'm taking, well unless shooting flower photos like above where I use the white balance mode to compensate for the glow of the H.P.S. lamps I have running.
I'm still learning all of the bells and whistles on this camera but loving every minute of it in return!

I have yet to play with white balancing. I know...really Susan??? Lol! One of these days I’ll get to it. I have some plants that’re getting tired of the darkness caused by so much light.

Lights just kicked off. Time for me to get this body to bed. Good talking to you Cola Monster. See you tomorrow. :hugs:

You also and have sweet canna dreams!:hugs:

@Cola Monster - I thought I’d picked up your quote to post, but it wasn’t there... just wanted to say damn those photos are nice. Like sue said thelight quality is lovely. My new camera has been in it’s bag fo too long waiting for me to get better enough to use it. I’m getting antsy to do something with it and when I do I think I will take those settings you shared (thank you very much :) ) and use it as a starting point for some experimenting myself.
:thanks:

I like those a lot Sue! Beautiful forms like you say. I really like those backlit silouhette type ones, the shapes of them, almost look like really sharp shadows :thumb:

I was gonna say - but surely with nugs it does! But it doesn’t really hey? SOme of the most potent buds can be little ...

SO that’s great because I was about to ask you if you hah any supplementary lighting going on there - and it sounds like you dont. Those HPS have a nice quality in pics, I have noticed that before.

SO Urban, I know the photo challenge was like months ago but I have made some attempts to capture a few things, without much success actually. I did capture and crop this the other day though - an iPhone shot. Part of what I’ve been after is the way the vapour moves differently than smoke. But because vapour is harder to see, and dissipates so fast, it’s been really hard to capture!

It’s poor quality (low light, I phone, zoomed in a bit) so ‘grainy’ ;) but it does capture the vapour edges that are so differnt to smoke - and its a funky little shape too, like a little dancing spirit :)

To take a line from the 60's cartoon series "Rocky & Bullwinkle" here's something I hope you'll really like.;)

This is a shot of a Blue Eyed Darner I captured after a half hour or so of waiting for him/her to tucker themselves out and finally land.
