ThatOneGuyy's First Lemon Skunk Indoor Grow

Nice scope you got there bro i got a jewelers loop good for checking for pests not so good for checking tricomes.. that thing will give you perfect vision on what color they are!
Can you take a pic through it?

I have a jar of molasses but never used it how do you rate it ?

I have that exact same scope, got it from radioshack for 6 bucks. thing is awesome for checking out tricome color, you only need it on the 60X power too anything more and your looking into the pores on the leaves, its wild!! idk about taking pictures threw it though, i tried a couple times with no luck, but that might have just been me.

Ill be here to see the pics of the harvest. I think these are some of the best lookin plants ive seen. Gotta get me some lemon skunk. Good luck on this one man not like you need it, these things are doing amazing

Thanks buddy! I am happy that you think that. Kind words like that make me strive to be a better grower and I thank you. I wish you could smell them. They aren't as skunky as most skunks. it is more on the piney citrus side.

Thanks for the luck! I think I had a lot of luck on my side and I am fortunate to be lucky to have wonderful plants and a wonderful comminuty helping me along the way. I will go and check out your grow here shortly after I get some pics up, which they will be coming in about 1-2 hrs. Things are getting really exciting on my end and I'm sure you guys will enjoy this update very much.

Pic Update:11/15/2011 So I I am counting the days to harvest and I am getting very impatient. I have about 1 more week of feeding(Next Tuesday) and then I will flush on friday of next week and and a final run of a boosted molasses mix then 1 week of drying before I chop and harvest my girls(At least #1) I may have to run #2 a little longer because she is a late bloomer so I will have one harvest and another 1-2 weeks later. I Should have both girls chopped way before mid December. Anyways, Onto the update!

Lemon Skunk:Day 38 Flower

So today, I started "Monster Bloom" (Farmer's Pride) phase and I will be feeding for another week since I am really close to harvest. Each one of my girls got 3500ml of feed mix.

#1 Is doing great and coming to the end of her grow phase. She is very affected by temp changes and drops and it noticeable in the leaves. She is going bald and is almost ready for harvest. She will have this week and next week to finish up her swell. 50% of hairs are orange/brown and the other 50% are barely changing and still white. After next weeks feed, 3-4 days after, I will start on my flush. The week of harvest is drawing closer and closer. She isn't as frosty as I would like but I'm sure the last few weeks will be the most productive. I took a piece that I am envelope drying for a day or so next to my ballast to see how she smokes. Here are some pics of her.

#2 As I suspected she is 1-2 weeks behind #1 but it is ok. She is starting to lose her fan leaves and see a massive Trichome phase in the near future. The Top cola is almost the thickness of a soda can. I would compare it to the thickness of a febreze air effects can. She isn't bothered by the temps since she isn't turning purple but I am ok with this. I will most likely harvest her later than #1. Her pistils are barely changing colors and the majority are still white.

Lemon Skunk Clones
: Day 13 Flower

All the clones got 750ml of "Bloom"(Farmer's Pride) and Will continue every week. Buds are starting to swell so I can't wait to see these things get nice and thick. #1.1(Clone of #1) is the smallest of the four with eagle clawed top fan leaves. I am a bit disappointed in the clone but it will get some decent bud at least. The #2 clones are all nice and stretched out. No eagle clawing or anything.

Flower Room: Group Shot
IMG_15324.JPG

I'm a bit nervous about the harvest considering this will be my first ever harvest. I don't wanna over trim the buds so I will most likely be extra careful. I am gonna make a little cardboard box dryer since I can't just hang them up in my flower room since I still have plants going. If anyone has any tips on trimming and making a grow box or anything that you would like to add feel free to comment. All input, good or bad, is much appreciated. Thanks again to everyone that has helped me through this grow. My first harvest is dedicated to all that have been here for this grow. :Namaste:

TOG - Congrats! They look awesome! Great harvest bro, seriously.... I usually pull off the large fan leaves then with small pruning sheers or scissors you can cut the protruding leaves within a 1/4in of the buds and then hang to dry from a string strung across a cardboard box with the box slightly open in a dark cool area. You can always trim them then snip from the stalks then put on a screen or cheese cloth to dry. Hope my input helps.:high-five:

By next week I will have all the fan leaves off of #1 and another week after that I will strip #2. Maybe two weeks pending on how fast she does it naturally. I'm so anxious I can't sit still some days.

TOG, absolutely fantastic first grow, Brother! :bravo:

Your plants look amazing! :welldone:

FYI...I don't believe the cold temps will make the buds turn purple UNLESS it's a "purple strain", so I'm not sure I'd expect the Lemon Skunk to turn purple. But, she sure looks like she didn't mind the cold temps, at all! :)

Also, you'll quickly get the hang of trimming - especially with all those buds! :MoreNutes:

Trimming kinda sucks, as a chore, but it definately beats shoveling snow in the winter, and you get to trim the buds to your liking. I tend to trim mine real tight, but I just save all the trimmings and make hash or medibles! :yummy:

have you thought about triming all your leaves off?
if youve discussed this i didnt catch it.
I would because those buds are fat and could be even fatter if they were getting all the energy :)
I'm thinking about putting a screen over my LST'd plant and then when the colas get big, trimming all the foilage off. it wont look as pretty to some, but ill see buds and buds make me happy :)

great grow!

:bravo: amazing looking man!!! very nice job. cant wait to see the harvest.

:thumb::goodjob:

Thanks man! I keep staring at them like they are somehow gonna be done any faster but I am just getting so impatient. Everyday I look they just get frostier and frostier. Right now, I am looking at about 30% cloudy 40% clear and like 29% in between those. I seen a few amber but I'm sure that will change in the coming weeks.:Namaste:

Yeah I don't expect any purple buds. The leaves are the only thing affected but it's ok. They are coming off in the next week or so anyways. I will definitely have fun with the trim. I am going to try my hand at some bubble hash. and maybe some edibles. My best friends brother said he was gonna make some creme puffs if we get the ingredients! So I am excited for that.

great grow!

I have been progressively taking off the leaves off as they use up their energy for bud production. Aggressive defoliation can stunt your plants for awhile and since this is my first grow I didn't wanna cause any problems. I will most likely start defoliation in 14 days into my set of clones in flower but that is the next batch.

Since I will be doing a 1gal SoG in my next grow, I will need to defoliate. I predict the plants will be over 2' tall since I plan on vegging for 1-2 weeks prior to 12/12 which in that case, a defoliation will benefit. With how short my clones are now, They don't necessarily need it.:thumb:

Mini Update: First Frost! So I was checking my flowering clones and I stumbled upon a surprisingly frosty leaf. Seems like trichome production is already on its way. #1.1 as expected, is the frostiest out of all of the clones. She also has bigger buds. Anyways, here's a pic.

Sorry about the poor quality shot. I will get some better ones on the weekend. The lighting has been terrible lately. Been cloudy and such so yeah.

Propa's poems I've long awaited
Each verse I've anticipated
After some time, I'm again blessed with his rhyme
We both must be medicated! :)

Lookin' great, TOG! :welldone:

i am no good at original poetry. but i wanna share something that my cousin sent me in a text today that he got from a friend i think. it made me chuckle and since everyones sharing poetry i might as well share it lol

I love him
He loves me not
God his body is so fucking hot
I wonder what mom would say
If she knew I thought about dad this way

Molasses is a sugar cane by-product from making sugar. You can buy molasses at a grocery store. If you want the higher quality stuff like Blackstrap molasses you will need to buy online or some specialty shop. It is pretty cheap and it is like an added supplement for plants. The plant uses the carbs and such and helps with trichome production.

Blackstrap molasses is a higher quality molasses that has more of the micro nutrients the plants use so yeah. I would invest in some for sure. It doesn't harm the plant so it can only help.

Sulphured molasses can also act as a natural bug repellent I believe. I may be slightly off on some of the description so if someone has anything to add or correct feel free to do so.

Warning!!
Bud Porn Inbound

So I have about under two weeks before I chop #1 and I thought I would get some macro shots to show everyone the extent of how frosty they are now. #1 is about 60% cloudy and 2-5% Amber. The rest are clear and turning cloudy. She has almost lost all of her main fan leaves and looking better and better.

Things are gonna be hectic here in the next few weeks so If I disappear for awhile don't be surprised.
