Testing The ViparSpectra XS1000 With VetSmoke85

The folks at @Prescription Blend are really good at recommending what to do with deficiencies, so with any luck they'll see your tag!
I'm going to check the calibration on my pH meter again tomorrow. Make sure that is right first. I may have started the flower schedule a little late.

Congrats on the perlite sprout! Remember to float that baby out when you plant it, not pull it :)
I was thinking I let it build roots which will clump the perlite up and then I gently transplant that into a 2L hempy bucket when it out grows the cup. Is that not the way?

That's one way! If you wanted to get it in dirt earlier so all the roots were dirt roots as opposed to water roots, you would float it out after a few days and plant it, as seen here.
Ah cool. Makes sense. This won't be going in dirt, but if I do decide to use this method of germination for all grows that's super useful to know. Would it help to float it out still when it's established in this cup? I assume it would put a little less strain on the roots then too.

I've just drilled holes and put grommets in these 2L paint kettles. I've got some tubing and a bag of perlite arriving tomorrow. I'll run a tube out of these into a drainage tray to make collecting the run off easier.

Oh sorry, I didn't remember this was going to be hempy all the way! I would say yes to floating it out whenever you do it, but if I'm wrong the hempy folks will correct me. :)
Cheers. Yeah I thought it would be fun to give it a try. Make things more complicated by doing two methods at once.

I like that! Keep things interesting! :Rasta:

Hoping I can get this figured out and minimise the damage. Pineapple Gums leaves are curling upwards this morning and the rest are generally looking a bit shabby.

The tiny Tangerine Dream looks a bit better than the others. Just continuing to be a short arse. Lol.

Good morning sunshine ☀️

Sorry to see you got prama (plant drama). I wish I had advice, but I got nothing :( One thing I do know, if anyone can make a half dead plant bud like an absolute boss it’s you!

Hopefully some experts will be by soon with advice.

It almost looks like a P deficiency? :hmmmm:
Look I’m no grow genius but even I know you shouldn’t pee on your plants Rexer (tbh I found this out the hard way, in my defence I was busting…)

Morning! Yeah they won't be pretty but I'll get some bud off the buggers. Lol.
Hey Vet,

Sorry to see your having some troubles.
Did @Prescription Blend ever get back to you?
It almost looks like a P deficiency? :hmmmm:

I'm just not sure....how's the PH been?
No they haven't popped in yet. I was thinking that too. I'm mixing some more nutrients tonight so I'll check on what I could increase in the blend.

I double checked my pH pen calibration tonight to try and rule that out. Feeds have been pH'd to 6.3-6.5 each time. The pen was reading 6.9 in 7.0 solution. So I don't think that's a problem.

The ladies are looking a little happier tonight. I've raised the light a little bit as I feel they may have been getting a little tired and warm. Mixed up a gallon of week 4 nutrients for them (that's the strongest dose in the schedule), pH'd to 6.3. They will get a feed tomorrow morning I think. Possibly evening. I'll check the pH again before I do.

Hempy Pink Grapefruit - I had to go digging and found it'd dropped down quite deep and was struggling to push through. Looks ready to open up for us.

And looks happy to do so! Lil' Pac Man. :Rasta:

Hey, vet.

Looks like root issues to me. I bet they don't quite fill the pots and are getting a bit wet. The flowering is keeping them going and they'll make it over the line. Like you said, they'll give you something.

Are the White Widows from WSE? I was just looking at getting some for this year's shits and giggles.

User error as usual. Lol. I don't like starting plants in final pots. I'm blaming it on that anyway:laugh:. My autos have always been better when I've transplanted them from smaller pots.

The White Widows are @Dope-Seeds own genetics.

Hoping the hempy plants do better and increase the final yield a bit to give us enough to last through the photoperiod grow.

I'm still not quite decided on what I prefer. I've had success and failure with both methods. Final pot is slightly easier though so maybe a win.
