We had 27 days out of 31 where the temp was triple digits and my total electric bill was 193 US$. .. I want to go total solar.
Anyone on solar? Just wondering if a 100% solar power for grows works.

My old double-wide could get up to $400 during the high months. That place leaks like a sieve...

Glad I'm in an energy efficient home now. KW/hr isn't high here... I just need to seal the house up and have appliances that aren't 20 years old. LoL

Panels on the roof is what's popular here. Tesla made a power pack that looked interesting I was looking at a while back.

I've looked into tesla. $3000 for their battery packs. I would have to stick to marine batteries.

I've seen a bunch of those down here as well. Most people I ask about them complain that it is hard to stay efficient with the overall install cost and maintenance costs. I think the systems have gotten much better now though.

Well hello there Preston I finally made it around. So much going on here. Plenty of friends and great times ahead. Keep up all the great work.
Welcome! I always enjoy seeing new faces in here!

Feel free to let that advice fly... I definitely appreciate constructive criticism, I sure need it regularly. LoL

Dude I’ve spent over $5k I’m manufactured lights, and each of them have upgraded like a month or two after I purchased. So screw them. DIY same space...$1100. Also latest technology. No old tech in new shed!!
I’m about ten k in debt due to my cannabis involvement.

Sorry for hyjacking your thread Preston. I'll do some research on the QB lights. I have to say tho that my HPS lights are dimmable 240v and they definitely perform. My nugs are typically dense AF. Lol
It’s not just about preforming buddy it’s about efficiency too bro what it gets for coverage and what ppfd . If you can have the light using lower power and keep light lower then you save power hydro bills . So win win

Poor response to a dude that's just looking for information.

In response to the question the hlg 550 which is a 500w setup is marketed as a 1000w single ended hps replacement.
I was right without even looking it up go me lol

My light bill this month is 180$ that's running my grow and everyday living . I'd say it's kinda efficient

Whoa now brotha .. I’m trying to give you a view to look at nothing more man. Sorry to try to help . :peace:

I appreciate all the info guys! Efficiency could definitely be relative to one's situation. Crazy how much it is starting to cost for power. Power company kinda has us by the balls because it's become completely necessary. I will definitely miss the electric bill from the month I had to move the girls outside.

FYI just imagine how much cheaper it would be with a hlg QB board then is all I’m trying to say man :passitleft:
