Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

To be honest, I probably get away with it because of my humidity... I mean, really, I might be able to hang one in the air and get roots. I have to work to avoid getting too much water around or I see rot. It's a weird world between the heat and humidity so my cloning techniques don't seem to play out well in other environments.
But, yes, I clone in just perlite. I put a little solo cup dome over them with a 1/2 hole in the top (well... bottom of the cup). Here she is with her top on. I really just think the dome mostly keeps the babies from getting blown around rather than retaining humidity.

I'm feeling a touch whimsical at the moment.

I was chatting about the Mars Hydro lights with someone. I got to looking at them and I saw one opened up exposing the power supplies.
Here's the magic bit.....

So SmokeSara, my little garden is extremely heat adverse. Can one remove the power supplies, extend the wires, and mount them outside a tent so as not to bring that heat inside?

I bet she chimes in. I honestly don't know how she's always around the moment lights are mentioned.
It's like freakish.

Still waiting... I'm a patient man.

My little Afgaan giving me grief looks better. I didn't really flush her... just gave her my 1/2tsp clone mix last feeding. I'll probably give her one more round of the light water before returning her regular programming. Black spot is from a Sharpie I was marking leaves with.

Seems some dryer air has moved in. I sure hope it stays. The temps are still up, but the dry air just makes life sooooo much bettah. The skin on my hands feels dry already.

Whoooa look at THAT 40 % :cheertwo: I have to ask: How long did that last? Stay cool my friend. Rooster1 clucking around:volcano-smiley:

The little temp doodad give me a running 24hr high/low. Wish is gave me a mean as well... but no joy there. A check of the weather history and pressure fronts shows that a high pressure ridge is keeping the wet gulf air at bay. It'll probably degrade soon enough returning us to our regularly scheduled programming of sweaty sock weather, but it sure is nice.
On the other hand, I have a clone right now in perlite. This method doesn't work as well when the humidity drops. Meh!

We have High Pressure on top of us until at least the first of next week! Thinking your in part of that pressure.:high-five: Other than your perlite needing moisture enjoy it while you can.:thumb: Looks like I will be heading back your way in a few weeks. Lots of work coming up to help those families get back into some type of home. :peacetwo: be with you.....:volcano-smiley:

help those families get back into some type of home

God bless!
They've got thru the immediate challenges and now they have to rebuild their world.
The only silver lining available to those folks is the fact that the water didn't hang around for weeks. It's a thin thread I admit, but it makes the difference between gutting your whole house or just 1/2 the first floor.
I have a rental out in the east that's just not worth purchasing flood insurance for. No banks involved, so no requirement for flood insurance. It might cost 10g to strip and restore it. Not worth a 3g flood insurance hit.

I still can't pass a pile of gutted material outside a house without crying just a touch inside.

Weekend round-up of the veg tent.

I gently brushed away a bit of the perlite and got a peek at my latest seed popping. Still at 100% for seeds popping in perlite.

Here's one of my OGKs from clone. In this strain, purple is a sign of underfeeding (phosphorus def as I recall). You can see plenty of purple on the older growth, but the purple fades in the newer growth and the top of the plant's right on track as I raise her nutes up.

Here's a Pineapple Chunk clone I took on 9/1/16. Interesting to note the green algae growth around the bottom of the plant where the humidity dome covers. I'm beginning to think green algae growing on top of the pots is a symptom of my humidity. I'll watch it as winter rolls in and the humidity drops. Bonus random Tead hair....

Dinafem Deep Cheese seedling. Note the humidity H/L.... so nice. Still hitting the mid 90's outside daily in both temps F and humidity percentages. Temps not great... seeing some leaf margin curling.

The overfed Afgaan. Recovering perfectly, but left a bit top heavy. Very early on for it, so it will probably even out OK.
IMAG005926.jpg

Here's the Osmo Afgaan. It very slowly growing and it's still alive.

Here's the Critical+2.0 girl. She looks great. I've had good luck with their Critical+ strain.... hope to see the same from this iteration.

Your Deep Cheese is deep in the pipe. It makes for entertaining surfing but I imagine the air is stuffy and a bit off temp in there. If you can shift things a bit so she gets some fan ventilation, she might be happier.

If not convenient to get fan air down in there, you could drill a couple of largish holes near the soil line so air flows a bit better - but that puts a large drill bit near your baby girl and limits the perlite depth of your next seedling.

Or you could just call deep well growing an experiment - but I think the jury has returned a verdict on too low soil levels.

Congratulations on popping yet another seed.

hmmmm.... you may have a point.
There's a fan blowing down on everything and another decent flow coming from the AC tube.
hmmmm.
The numbers are what I expect to see. I've got a touch of leaf margin curl happening... another sign of 100f temps.
I do have the plant about 4" down. Didn't mean to get it that low.
hmmmmm.....
I'm gonna go move the temp probe so it's hanging outside the PVC. I'll look for a difference.

If you already have a fan blowing down , I suspect that covers any concerns.

Me too... but I'm a data kinda dude and I always want to see some data behind my decisions and conclusions.
It's still hot as balls down here. The humidity seems to have broken, but the heat is unrelenting.
I've been running a big CF bulb that generates a lot of heat. Shut that bad boy back down.

I forgot that those were 68 actual watts. No wonder they're so much warmer than the 48W T5 fixture.
