Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Awsome tead. You have a window unit dont you ? How different would power usage be between different air con systems window unit vs mini split system? If the room air exchange is slowed right down but at a much better temp would this starve co2 ?

Window unit. Sits outside the door of the shed. I put a piece of plywood in place to block off the upper part of the open door.

Far from perfect... but functional.
The square frame fits inside the tin shed. The business end of the AC will fit thru a square opening in the styrofoam wall of the bloom box. The output air from the box will get fed into the bloom tent. The outside of the tin shed will remain the same in appearance.
A mini split would be fun, but that's just too much for a backyard tin shed. If anything, a smaller portable AC unit would provide the cooling I need, but possibly be much more efficient since I could fit it entirely into the inner bloom box.
I have a good bit of air exchange going at all times with lots of interior fans blowing 24/7. Humidity (usually in the 90's during the warmer months) is a real enemy in my garden and air movement/exchange seems to be my only viable weapon. I do have a dehumidifier, but need another power drop in order to run it with all the other loads. I'm thinking about having my electrician do a 240 drop thru conduit out to the shed area.

Id like to do something similar , a built in room approx 10x5ft within a larger shed but im trying to get my head around "the most efficient way" either sealed with air con and co2 or air con when required with air exchange ? Im unsure on the different types of air conditioning systems and havent come accross a good article as of yet ?

There are many variables to consider. I'm still thinking I might be better off doing some other options. Dunno.
The AC options are numerous. Anything above a window AC unit is too much for the space, available power, and my wallet. I'm waiting for a portable unit to fall into my lap. I feel it might be the perfect fit for my space and give me a good bit of flexibility in placement.

So.... I'm not normally a drastic defoliator. I pull fan leaves... but more slowly as I see fans I don't like or feel are blocking other things. It's more of a ongoing natural pruning.
I got to looking at OsmoGirl. She was thick. Really dense. I decided to change that....

It's my first try at a drastic defoliation. While I know she'll pop up bigger and better, that knowledge is not so comforting at the moment.

I know how hard that was to do.

She looks much better and she was too bushy for your comfort level. Don't worry, she'll reward you with more trichomes. :battingeyelashes:

I just wanted to say I have had portable a/c units before infact still have the last one I bought but anyways they suck if you try to just use them in a room cause they spew hot air out the back even though mine have claimed no need to exhaust out a window or anything. Felt pretty ripped off by that but anyways enough of my ramblings

Some units advertise no need to vent it and I call bull lol. The one i currently have is a a/c, dehumidifier and a fan and it kicks out so much heat its not worth it. Its supposed to just sit in a room but its not worth it. I had one before this one that did require a hose to vent out a window but it didn't get cool enough even in a bedroom, might be ok for a decent size grow tent though. My point just don't get the portable a/c units that claim no need for ventilation out a window i don't believe it.

Yeah... they're supposed to have an external vent hose to dump the heated air outside of the area they're cooling. Really, without the vent tube, where is that heat supposed to go? I'd go beat the folks that created a system without an exhaust.
I recently (well... 2 years ago) visited the land of my birth.... specifically, the Oregon coast. One doesn't normally need AC in Pacific City, but there was a freakish June heat wave and we hit 90s. The hotel I was staying in had a portable unit properly installed with an external exhaust going outside. It did a great job for about 100sqft.
I've considered a redneck version of the design... where I put a small plenum on the back of a standard window AC unit and hook an exhaust fan and hose that runs outside. Seems ugly and ungainly. I'll keep that idea filed away for some drastic step in the future.

Well I am hitting the hay now otherwise I would take a picture of the one that needs no venting. I'll get you the picture this evening. It was like 200-300 dollars when I bought it and it was a waste of money.

Hell yes on Clonetastrophe. And yes, the lights do go out every time you blink, and back on again when you open them. Didn't everyone know that? You can tell how much a light costs to run by multiplying wattage by hours run and the multiply that result by the Tead blink factor for that day (can be looked up in tables produced by the Government Dept of Tead Blink Tracking) and Bob's your uncle, you find out the light is costing you nothing since it is LED after all and magically runs without heat or electricity.

Gosh I miss ya Tead. How's tricks?
Bob ;)

How's tricks?

We're all in the post Mardi Gras recovery slump. Just waiting for the next party to roll. We do St. Paddy's day pretty big down here along with a big "Irish Italian" parade where the throws are cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, and other parts needed for Corned Beef and stew. Fun. Gives me an excuse to drink a Kilian's Red once a year... Bloody Mary's for the MG parades, Kilian's for the St. Paddy's parades. Seems like Jazzfest is just around the corner too. We do all our local parties in the spring and fall... summer's just too evil hot.

My garden is making a transition to Osmocote+ nutrients. It's really been working out well. Of course, I haven't escorted one thru bloom yet.... perhaps I should do that before I convert all the plants to Osmo.... hmmmmm.
Generally, my garden is just boring. A feed every 3 days. Daily adjustments of the heat/cooling... heating at night and cooling during the day. With 75's forecast for the next few days, I'm calling an end to any significant winter weather. I need to finish that flower box this weekend so I can put some AC in place.
