Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

There are a few drawbacks.
One has to keep pot temps in mind. The warmer the pot, the more nutes are released. I try to plan for this in broad strokes. For example, I kind of wanted to add nutes during last feeding, but temps are gonna pop back up to the 70's and the veg tent will be warmer, so I'm gonna wait it out and see.
Final flush (well... any flush) is difficult and only partially possible. I plan to scoop out all the medium I can and replace it with fresh perl. I'll not get it all... but it's the best plan I've come up with so far.

We're all experimental folks. Seeing new things in the wild... implementing the ones that attract us. Stretching and discovering. Good stuff baby!

Slightly overhung. Life returns to normal. Saw them sweep the streets clean of Mardi Gras last night at midnight. I'll see lots of folks with ash spots on their foreheads this morning during my business travels. Tried to think of something I could give up for lent, then discovered I was happy not to be Catholic.

Take a little slide with Tead into the Off Topic zone this morning and join me for my morning journey...
I like Ash Wednesday for many different reasons.

A tour down Bourbon St. starting from the clean part. They've already removed about 90%. At midnight, they street sweepers begin by a little street sweeper parade right down Bourbon. The weather has been very chilly, so the streets were mostly devoid of leftover drunks (tourists)... mostly. Don't get me wrong, it's a disgusting walk this morning, but it's a sight to be seen, so I took a stroll... a very careful stroll avoiding the various piles of whatever.

MD-20.... quality drinkin going on.

Thanks all!

I'm pretty happy with her overall. She's got some nice mass to her buds.
As the 4th plant of the season, she's fairly representative of what I usually like to see. The previous plants had various issues... including a grower with a certain 'need to feed'.
The next plant up will be the 5gal girl. She's an experiment in size... never done 5gal hempies before. Her buds are forming up great and she's really eating a lot with every feed.
OsmoGirl will need to hit the flower area some time soon. She's getting quite large and dense. I feel I have her nutes pretty dialed in even tho it's my first Osmocote+ grow.

Fun times in the garden. I've been procrastinating about a little side build. I want to put together a wind tunnel kind of flower box. I got most of the wood cut up... perhaps I can get off my lazy ass and start putting it together this afternoon.

What do you mean by wind tunnel exactly?

A rectangular box. 4' tall, 4' wide, 5' long. Clad in white Styrofoam insulation or reflective bubble wrap stuff.
Opening at one end large enough to fit the AC housing thru. Small opening at other end for extraction fan. AC will blow air 24/7 and agitate the crop. Cooled extracted air will get fed into veg tent.
Rectangular hole in top to accommodate Cooltube and tubing. I have a T5 fixture that will fit nicely in it.
One of the sides will fold down to give easy access.
Still thinking out the angles and details.

I had the idea last summer when I was just trying to keep the veg cabinet alive thru the heat. I moved the cabinet up to the AC and enclosed the inside part of the AC with the cabinet. It worked really well... the AC unit worked very little just cooling the tent. I'll be keeping most of the air inside an insulated box... should be good stuff... might keep me blooming thru the summer.

lol! MD20/20, that sure brings back some memories that are a mix of pleasant and horrid.
I live in an area that is a tourist mecca during the warmer months and into the fall(Amish Country!) and i hate it. Trying to get to work or the store with people moseying along watching the buggies and such is sometimes quite the chore. I can't even imaging the sheer numbers that turn out for MG.

The wind tunnel is a neat concept. I look forward to its grand planting. That's a very creative way to overcome the sweltering temps of your summers.

So thankful you saved the clone. I actually gasped in horror and then sighed audibly and chortled in relief at the happy resolution. :laughtwo:

We're such wonderful gardening nerds. :circle-of-love:

Wow... Amish tourists.... that's just gotta be an exciting crowd!
Our tourist at least have the decency to entertain us with their drunken escapades and occasional nudity.
I picture another issue we have (had) in common. I would imagine you might have spent some time driving slowly behind a buggy or two. Our parade floats don't just magically appear on the parade route. Getting around town can be a real issue when you share the highway with a big line of MG parade floats doing about 10mph.
So many strange little nuances to existence in The Big Easy.

Wind tunnel step 1....

I changed the measurements to go with a 5' square instead of a rectangular layout.
The next step will be covering the wooden frame with Styrofoam panels. The Styrofoam many not actually work... I may go with reflective bubble wrap insulation. Either way, it's in the pipeline and moving forward as a project.
It's gonna be needed very soon. Low temp last night was 62f. AC will probably need to be put back into the mix by March 1st.
