Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Have you seen that table on optimal RH/transpiration? 78% seems high.

Yup... seen it. Thanks. I grow in an outdoor tin shed. Humidity is always an issue.

Dehumidifier dropped the humidity from 78 to 57 in about 1 hour. It also boosted the temp in my grow tent to 90f, grow room to 85f.
Turned it off for the night. Perhaps it will be a better fit when the temps drop again. Still 78f outside.

I put a dehumidifier in my flowering room. It is low wattage (350w?) and just runs during lights out on a timer because that's the most humid time for me. It does make heat. Started a thread which pretty much sums up how things worked out, I think. Anyway- it stopped almost all of my mold troubles. I figure the heat could be vented if I was energetic enough to want to do that.
Though perhaps you've moved on from wanting dehumidifiers now...

Well... I think it has a place in my garden... but not when the heat is up.
If it were going to stay hot for more than just the next few days, I would consider putting the AC back in place.
Maybe Monday I can run it again. As a source of heat in my garden, I really like it... it provides heat and lowers humidity. Perhaps I can leave my heater off and just run the humidifier.
Anyway... I still like the idea... it's just too hot at the moment. I didn't expect the dehumidifier to put out so much heat.

Thanks Blaze. I probably fall more on the 'humbug' side of xmas, but I sure appreciate good vibes however they arrive.
I haven't checked yet, but I suspect Santa delivered some See's candy under my tree whilst I was asleep. Yummy!
I sure hope you find some fun goodies under your tree today.

I'm already focusing on Mardi Gras. Twelfth Night, the beginning of the Carnival season, is Jan 6. There will be a couple of parades that day... the Phunny Phorty Phellows riding the streetcars, and Joan of Arc doing the traditional uptown route. I've noticed my toe tapping quite a bit harder lately when I hear any of the standard Mardi Gras tunes.... I'm jonesin for some dancin in the streets.

Photos, feeding, and thoughts...

Betty of course...

I boosted my flower mix from 2tsp to 2.5tsp. I see a lot of bright green growth in the bud area and I feel she can take more. I may consider boosting her to 3tsp after another feeding at 2.5

I also boosted my veg mix from 1tsp to 1.25tsp. Also showing brighter green growth than I'd like to see.

Heat is still on. Probably no real relief till next week.

Plants are looking nice and healthy bud. Nice green sheen to the leaves.

We don't do xmas presents. Only the kid gets presents.

A maneki neko? w Right? Left? Both?

Your plants look so heathy and fashion mag quality it's kind of disturbing to hear you say your plants have more color than you like. I 'think' my girls look happy... w

A Maneki neko ehhh.... thanks for the education. It's left arm is waving... am I about to learn a little more about them?

The photos lie a bit about color. One can't really capture it well under the lights. Perhaps I'll drag one into sunlight soon and grab some photos that show it better. I've also been growing the cloned strain forever, so I'm super familiar with it. The color indicator is really key to tending my babies. Monitoring runoff in hempy buckets has never been anything useful, so you're left looking for other indicators. Plant color sure works as an indicator for me. It can be a bit tricky when the girls hit deep flower and all the new growth is in the buds.... but you just have to look a bit closer.

It's funny.... I always look at my plants and think about how they could be improved. When I look at other's plants, I'm often amazed at them. I think it's a touch of human nature.

LOL Am I that superficial.... orz

But just like Keroro Gunso I can not resist the thrown down banana peel!

I will attempt to keep this under 2% geek content. Ok so you can read all sorts of stories about how the maneki neko, or "Beckoning Cat" came about. This one is so basic it has the most credibility in my book. Ymmv.

First off, in the west, someone will call you over to them by placing thier hand out, palm up, and curling the fingers up "come over here".

To call someone over in Japan, one extends the hand, palm down, and 'pats', bending the hand at the wrist "come over here". Much like a cat does.

In Old Japan there was a traveling official (or prince or whoever of some importance) who stopped along the road, and it began to rain. There was a cat at the side of the road who beckoned the person over, and when they approached, lightning stuck the place they had been standing.

So the maneki neko is calling you over to good luck. With the right arm raised (a new twist) it is beckoning for love, not luck. And the newest cats with both arms raised, is the perfect bet, love and luck. ;3

Merchants will keep maneki neko to beckon customers (left) or money (right).

I totally messed up and don't have the stalks I need to make my kadomatsu ; ;

I hear you about lights and photos and how to get what you actually see 'on paper'. Some pictures I'd taken for my scrog write up I did ps. Oddly that was closer to what I was seeing, but yeah. :/ The whole plant color I'm starting to see in my girls I think, and I'm glad it's not just my imagination. That's one of the things I'm trying to concentrate on learning before I toss too many phsyical changes into the mix.

Damn... shoulda got the other arm waving. I got it from a vendor in a local open-air market. She had an amazing array of them. I didn't notice the subtle differences... I'll have to go back and get a 2nd one with the other arm going.
Thanks for the info. In a previous life, I was deeply involved in the animation and 3D industry.... so I was aware of the popularity of the genre. I even chuckled a touch about your avatar the first time I saw it and had a little journey down memory lane.

If i recall correctly you are from the land of Mardi Gras if so hope the bad weather passes soon stay safe. Im stoned watching the weather lol so don't mind me lol

Ya i saw them say that new Orleans is under a tornado watch i think they said and my first thought was tornado watch in December boy weather sure is getting screwy don't know how any one can deny global warming lol.

We don't usually see tornado action in the city... but we often see water spouts over Lake Pontchartrain. Those are really fun to see... unless you're out on the lake of course... then it's way past time to haul ass. Crazy stuff.
Since my abode is only inches above sea level (about 3ft raised), I'm a little worried about some global warning myself. A inch of sea rise would have huge impact in our neck of the woods. I don't think I'll be around to see it, but I can sure imagine this area becoming much less inhabitable in the relatively near future.

Ive always wanted to witness a water spout firsthand lol hmmm i suppose even a flashflood would be bad for you to then huh? Hey maybe you can tell me what a parish is? Heard the weather people say that is it like a county or borough?
