Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

She definitely got the structure from UD and not OGK.

She took her general shape from the UD lineage. The leaf shape (tho very close... both indica based) comes from the OGK. I might blame the red on the OGK side as I've seen no hints of red in the UD.
I've tried one of them already and I really dig the smoke, so I'm just so pleased with my little creation.
There's another seedling that's a cross between Critical+2.0 and UD. Just starting off, so we'll see what becomes of such a crazy combination, but the hopes are riding high.

So... Ya ever end up with 2 plants from one seed?

Twin embryo inside the seed?
Probably just a wayward seed somehow rather than twins... but wouldn't it be interesting if it were twins?
Some digging and extremely gentle replanting will be on the schedule for later today. We'll see.

I've had two plants from one seed before, but only once. Messed me up thinking I was too stoned while planting and taking notes. Thankfully I was growing a couple of strains I knew so in a few weeks it became clear to me. I don't remember who, but when it happened someone else looked it up, and yes its possible and does happen. ;)

Nice to hear. I assumed it could happen... happens with every other 'egg' in the world.
I'll have some answers on the issue later today when I dig the little ones up (well... float them out... whatever).
Never seen it in my garden, but most of my girls are clones rather than seeds.

Speaking of seeds, the temps are back up (75f at 4am), so seed planting will come to a halt for a while. I planted 8 and got 7 (counting possible twins as 2). Not bad for such a quick little cool down. I'm super pleased to have so many new girls. Many of the seeds were over a year old. Highs for the next week are in the mid to upper 80's, so it's time to turn the AC back on and focus on cloning.

Although I’ve never gotten a twin seed, I’ve read that when you get twin seeds one is genetically identical to the mother plant, just like a clone, and the other is more traditional. Seems quite interesting, especially if your male was a totally different strain.

Not sure how this rolls out in plants. In humans, there are 2 different types of twins.... one where 2 eggs get fertilized and one where the embryo splits in two (identical twins).
I might think that the double eggs (non-identical) option is not possible in seed... but hell, Tead ain't no biologist.

He is a perlite cooker this morning tho....

Evaluation to follow... experiment still in progress.
For those yats disturbed by using a a crawfish pot for such things.... yea... it was hard.

Conradino found a rare blueberry pheno in the F2 generation of UD. The red may be coming from that.

I've also seen someone get a twin meristem from a seed that had one stem the green pheno and the other was a purple pheno.

I found where I read it Top 10 Craziest Cannabis Mutations about halfway down they talk about "Twin seedlings".

So disappointed that it said
Variegation is pretty, but is generally considered useless or even detrimental, as it reduces the plant's capacity to photosynthesize and thus comprises its ability to achieve maximum health and yield.

I'm going to flower it anyway:

No spray....It's just a mutant variegated plant. From Delicious seeds and pack labeled as Jack Herer. Knew that was wrong when it sprouted.

Really??? Never seen a variegated plant before. That's crazy-pants!

On to my world...
The cooking continues. Had to run downtown and do work, but started it back up when I got home. The temps are really getting up now that most of the water is gone. The process of creating the steam pulls the heat out, but now that the water is mostly gone, it's hitting 350f.

Smell is way gone... only lasted about an hour.

Then there's this moisture test I got going. I wasn't satisfied with the words and processes of others, so I gotta do my own.

Day1
24" pot. Hole at 4"
Pot filled with perlite, Osmo, and water. It will be the home for the SSDC auto once she's ready for it. Until that time, she'll be a test pot.

Moisture levels at 6, 4, and 2 inches.

Let's do a little side by side this morning....

2 similarly aged plants that grew side by side. UD on the left, UD+OGK on the right.

As you can see, the OGK/UD mix is much taller. Still maintains the same structure, but spread out and enlarged.

The red in the combo has stopped coming in since the temps are up... 85ish outside high yesterday with more of the same on tap.
Maybe I'll get red and green stripe action.

You have calassic example of F1 vigour here. Also you grow it from seed, so big difference :smokin2:

That explains why my clones look so puny compared with their seed-grown mothers. I get smaller leaves and weaker stems from the AK 48 clones, even tho the strain is a vigorous grower. I also have noticed that each generation of clones (clones of clones) is less vigorous than the previous generation.

I'm only getting the bigger nugs from the seed-grown. The clones give me lots of small buds, but even when I prune the ladies, the top flowers aren't nearly as large.

Indeed. You've missed that little nugget of knowledge along your journeys.
In my world, I can only pop seeds for a small part of the year. High temps are the endless problem. As such, I'm a big time cloner.
Having said that... a little less vigor is far down the complaint list. I run clones... pop new genetics over the winter, clone those genetics thru the long hot months.
