Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Wow, those tall pipes look like they'd be a bit tipsy. Do they stay stable from the water in the rez?

They're 6" wide. The tallest ones I got going are 2ft. The 6" base has been really stable with or without water... of course, I've been growing super-tippy 2Ls... perhaps it's a matter of perspective. I haven't bumped one over yet... that was pretty common with the 2Ls.

I have to say, the hempy keeps drawing my attention. I don't like the idea of phing, but once I get an ro system installed that hesitation goes away. My back would definitely thank me for it. And they would fit in between totes full of soil.

There aren't plans to run water yet, but there may be down the road. The spousal unit and myself have discussed putting an apartment next to the grow area, which would entail a large water tank and a pump to run a sink and use a composting toilet to get a bathroom there. Hooking into the well and septic wouldn't be very practical unfortunately.

An RO system uses low pressure 1/4" line, the same as refrigerator icemaker line.
Installing a long distance RO water line is about as complicated a installing a cable for TV/internet - much easier than standard water lines. No drain for me, the water goes into the plants or into the growing medium and evaporates.

Well Tead, i am dipping my toes into hempy. I just pulled down my current plant and took apart my buckets and bubblers and doodads and geegaws and installed two repurposed trash cans. They're 3.5 gallon and im hoping they give me some decent sized plants. I started a Girl Scout Cookie photoperiod and an LSD-25 auto on friday, both of which are just peeking their way thru the top of my starters. I was going to go buy some perlite but $ being what it is (scarce) im using coco for the top and a layer of hydroton for the reservoir.
Im a bit nervous as ive only grown dwc til now. Reassure me again how dummy proof hempy is man. Lol

Dipping your toes?? :rofl:Have you seen his backyard this week.:skeptical: Tead will have you up to your ankles in no time!

Try a 2L with 6g of Osmo+ and feed her every 2 days with tap water. Small and easy.
I've got that going on one of my girls. Tho she's been cooked, she's still moving along and her leaves look nice and green... no signs of CalMag issues even.
No muss, no fuss... no ph'ing.

Why did I not think of 1/4 lines? <smaking forehead>
Of course. Sheesh.
Rigging my apartment next door for a grow becomes a touch easier. Rigging the political system is another issue.

I need to pick up some osmo, but I believe I may have to try this with some seeds on the way. Thanks!

Hey bud, if you need the help with RO, I might be able to lend a hand. I was actually playing around with mine today getting it moved over and troubleshooting a new 14 gallon tank. Installation is pretty breezy. Now I seen you are over there trying to burn stuff down with the electrical since I been gone. Gotta get that stuff fixed up in between the monsoons! Things are getting back to normal out my way, so I will be stopping by more often. Don't burn it down before then.

I think that 'burning' situation has been going on for many years now. Really makes me wonder how much power I've wasted generating heat along the wire. Drag.

I'm not considering RO, just the plumbing lines ROs use.
I know it's crazy, but I think the various bits in my water help me. I even have a whole house filter running, but hooked up my backyard hose bib to the non-filtered side.

Wow Tead! She doesn't show any CalMg concerns at all, really. If my nute line wasn't so effective I'd give it a try. I may at some point anyway, just to see how my tap water would perform.

9.7!
Holy cow. It's been a long time since I looked. I don't remember it being that severe.
Hmmm....
Holly Molly Batman.....

That's high.....

I'd love to have a 14 gallon RO tank. Last time i looked those were quite expensive - hope you got it for a good price.

Yeah, about $80 shipped from Amazon. Funny thing is I hooked it up and couldn't get it to take a drop of water. Disconnected it, hooked up my old 4 gallon tank and everything was perfect. I checked the tank pressure and it's right where it should be, so looks like I will be sending it back and trying again with a replacement. I am working that little 4 gallon getting this new grow room setup.

I was looking at the label on the osmo yesterday. I see no Calcium components.... so I'm confused... but whatever.

Her looks are a touch deceptive. She's getting cooked pretty hard out in the sun. It sure slows her down some. Then all the rain has been washing her out quite a bit. There are some color changes happening in the bud area that have me worried. Then there are these spots that look like they might be caterpillar frass....
