Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Yes, I'm happy she leans Honduras.... the smells are incredible, and spot-on with Ace's description. I was hoping for an electric high from this one, maybe I'll do a quicker sweat and ferment for most of the cobs
Thats what I did and it paid off big time it kept the terpy profile and even comes across in the chew one of the best tasting chews if not the best ever.
The high is also electric and powerful nothing to loose doing it that way for sure.

Sorry for the bad link guys bi fixed it. :hugs:

There’s a conversation going on that you’ll want to be a part of, if only a silent one. Trust me in this one.

Potentiating Canna oil into rocket fuel
Hi Sue I had the same results with coconut oil too hard to get the dose right. I kept getting wiped out just like that ha ha.
It works the same with cobbed buds as with dried leaf ect but getting the dose right is hard and just a little to much and your a big mess ha ha.

Hahaha! So you’ve also let oil sit for extended times? May I ask, did you strain the plant material out first? Chris Scorpio used to leave his all together in the fridge until he needed it. Bet he goes back to doing that again. :laughtwo:

I’m making my own rocket fuel oil as we speak. Won’t be touching it for at least three weeks. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey guys.....

So.
just spent 5 weeks reading this and the ic thread.
i’m sold, and will try next harvest.
just one question
why don’t we have a cob of the month?
I like the colours most of all.
and if there’s a bit of a ”how I did it” attached,
just sayin

thanks Sweet Sue, and Tangwena:thumb:

We’ve wondered that ourselves freed, and :welcome: to the cob party. Get ready for some fun. :slide:

Sue your braver than I am my mind is loose enough on cobs. I used to try extractions using solvents, oils ect but it was too hard to dose.
I like to know where its going to take me ha ha.
I remember being passed out wide awake while my mind was roaming around my house doing every day stuff while my body was lying comatose on my bed.
I knew where both were I just couldn't get them to fuse together ha ha.

I’m gonna try this. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hello people!!!! I am faacinated about these cobs after I found this tread, thats so awesome!!! I haven't finished the read yet, but i will still goin on of course!!! I have some ideas that I would lile to ask if you guys have tried: So, I realised that this tech is quite similar to thai stick, and if i am not crazy someone here found out it too, there are some modern ways to make thai stick that uses ground up nugs into a mold (serch for cannagar solutions or purple rose), and I was thinking about to ground up all my material, stuck it in the mold and then use that fiber to lock it good while the material is drying. How about that? And another question, would be possible to instead use vaccum sealer in ziplockbags, sweat my cannagar-cob in those jars that eliminate the air inside, there is a lot of these jars selling in the internet nowadays. So there are my questions hahaha,
Thank you tangwena and congrats about this beautiful tread!!! (Ps: sorry for my english, Im from Brazil and I kinda use this things to build up my english skills hahahahaha)
Ps 2: i know these molds are quite expensive, so i made a 3d model of them to print in a 3D printer, if someone is interested, i can send it for you guys!!
Pic of the cannagar mold, i wouldnt use the stick though.

And now in page 237 I saw that this idea of grind the material and make the cannagars is not new here hahahaha, but my question about the vaccum jars instead of vac bags for sweating i havent saw yet, i think that it would be easier because i could put like 5-6 cobs inside, vac the the air inside and sweat the cobs in a double boiler just putting the jar in some low heat pan.

:welcome: Gabriel. :hugs: The only time I used a vacuum jar with buds was for storage, and I ended up with mold. Not a fan myself, but what you’re talking about is different, packing them in tight, but I’m not sure you’d get enough air out of the jar to keep mold out.

My last attempt before breaking down my grow was with a sous vide and a branch of buds. You’re looking at the resulting science project.

Had I clipped the buds from the branch they probably wouldn’t have molded. It’s important to get all the air out, or as much as humanly possible.

In the end you have to ask how much you’re willing to lose if it goes wrong?

Play safe and invest in a vacuum sealer then you can seal up your thai stick molds and cure them air free and mold free.
I have done quite a bit of curing/sweating in jars that had the air sucked out and it works ok but can get mold if used long term.
The vacuum sealer can be used for multitude of other things like fruit, meat, fish ect so its a great investment.
The idea is to sweat the buds and create changes through fermentation not to just seal them up which only preserves them.
Good luck in your quest for Thai sticks. The authentic ones I saw in the seventies were not sweated just slow dried to cure a totally different method.
Sometimes they sweated during smuggling but it was not intended to happen just an accident of transportation.
We are intentionally sweating them then managing the fermentation, guiding them to the outcome we are after.

Thank you tangwena and sweetsue!! Im goin to invest into a vac sealer then. Here in Brazil the majority weed that we have access is that Paraguai's brick weed (and it is usually very awful shit) but I am pretty sure that I smoked some accidental fermented weed last year (was sold to me as skunk) and man... That was totally different high and the taste was incredible (very bitter and with a little taste of amonia). Now Im sure that this happend because they pressed the brick with some moist inside, and of course happend some sweat there because was summer here... Very interested thing all this ferment process, working in some knowledge here so I can finish my pursuit for that same high hahahaha

Hey @tangwena , I few months ago you mentioned some cobs that were sweated for 6 resp. 12 hrs. How did they turn out? Any improvement over longer sweats?

Wow this is very interesting, and the first time I’ve heard of this in a refined method.. I’ve heard some old school guys talk about how back in the day they’d bury their harvest and dig it up later on and it’d make for some killer stuff..one guy even said he would go as far as to dump a couple fifths of strong liquor on his buds before burying them... that sounded crazy to me when I heard it, but maybe there was some method to their madness. Lol I might have to try this once to see how it is...
