Purple Haze x Malawi (reg) & Bangi Haze x Panama (fem). The Orient Express (fem) were freebies.

I 420% understand the PITA associated with a perpetual grow, but it shouldn't get in the way of your desire to partake in this best indoor hobby ever invented!

The reason I stopped doing the SOG was it became such a hassle constantly cloning and hand-watering 48 plants. So, I just changed my style of grow! The kit is about the least hassle method there is and seeds are much easier to come by these days than they were just a few years ago (as if you even needed any more seeds!). Maybe you just need to change-up the perpetual aspect and grow out some of your seed stash?

And, since you're gonna' be growing out all those seeds and have the extra time back, we'll all be expecting a journal!:rofl::rofl:

:peace::passitleft::peace:
Man that Purple Haze/Malawi sounds awfukl to grow  I am sure it will flower for half a year for you, The orient express looks like a very nice one to grow. I figured you had jumped onto the A5xMalawi train! Those are one I want to grow.

I really do need to work through the seed stash and cut back on the number of plants. the problem is that I do not want to lose some of what I have going on. I need to find a couple of people to take in cuts and hold onto them for me. That will make it a lot easier to start working through the stash. I have 3 things I cannot let go of right now and another 4 that I really do not want to let go of. Out of the 4 I do not want to let go of I need to keep at least one of them around. If I keep all of those that is still 7 strains on hand without popping seeds! WTF  I really think I am going to look for a couple of people locally to hold onto some of what I have going on so I can thin them out a bit. Maye then i can do a couple of seed runs and not take cuts... ( i doubt that, I always do just in case they are winners!)

Some serious NOTM contenders there Krip! :high-five: Some chunky monkeys!

Yeti- no worries on the journal, you know we'd love to see you do one but we understand if you're not feeling it. As always, you can drop pics in our journals! Be careful who you trust to keep cuts for you, Ive read a couple crappy stories about people handing off cuts to people who then refused to give them back and then you gotta worry about them keeping them going proper and not giving you back plants filled with bugs. Maybe Krips bonsai mother approach would be something to consider. If we were closer, I'd definately take some cuts from you.if you ever do start a journal, we'll be there, front row!

Im one of the ones that has posted the stories of having shitty experiences. That is why I have not done it. I do have a relative that has been considering starting to gorw inside and I could always hand them the cuts I want held. I had planned to supply the seeds and have them do the hunting for me

I appreciate it bud! You will be one of the first to know if I start a journal here!

I ain't trying to pressure you into anything just wanna see that fire you got going on.

Thats the reason I like the kit, don't need to be in the tent every day but I don't run as many strains as you. It would be a lot easier if you could mail cuts safely :passitleft:

Cool you're relative might be able to help. What are they waiting for, ha!
Electricity costs scare them and they do not have any of the equipment. i told them I could help a little with some lights I have laying around but they have yet to take me up on it.

I wouldnt need to be down there every day if I did not have things in all stages and one different drinking schedules. It is nice that unless something is root bound in veg I can miss a day from time to time and not kill things lol. I wish sending cuts was less sketchy. Then I know all sorts of people I could hand things to to hold onto!

Yeti, I swear you and I are living on the same wave length. I've been struggling with my grow too. I just don't have the passion during the winter and I am constantly behind on something. I've promised cuts to a few and everyday I go in there and see my overgrown mess I put off taking cuts another day. For those waiting it will happen this weekend. I really wished I could have shut it down for the winter but like you I don't want to lose a few cuts. I've got to cut down my Zam x Ethiopian and when I look in that tent I find another reason to let her go another week. She doesn't have a good fan leaf on her now. She is tangled into 3 other plants and just trying to reach a branch to cut turns my arms into a sticky mess. I think if you do this long enough you'll have to fight through some of these tough times. One thing that keeps me going is the thought of popping new strains and I can't do that unless I get some work done. Keep pushing brother!

Yeah, Ace estimates 13-15 weeks on that PHxMalawi!

Honestly, I don't have any plans to pop any of those Ace strains any time soon. Just wanted to add some good Sativas to the collection for some point in the future. I have a tough time culling strains, too, so I fully understand. I did just move the moms out of my little DIY veg cab and into the (now, former) drying tent, which gives me room for a few more. I'm sure I'll fill that space up quick!

Right now, I'm focused on finding the best pain meds for my Dad and I'm fairly certain that will be some Indica. I also will grow a number of Kush crosses since they do well in the RSO caps to alleviate his Parkinson's tremors. I'll grow the Sativas later for myself! ;)

Hey krip.

My uncle has Parkinson’s and my cousin has been getting him meds from the local dispensary. He said 2 strains stand out the most for Parkinson’s tremors and nerve issues.

1- afghan kush
2- kona gold

He said he noticed the biggest relief of tremors and nerve pain with afghan as it’s a heavier indica strain.

Kona is a hybrid but he found it helped his tremors.

I’m not sure if you have tried either of these but it may be worth a shot! Best wishes to you and the family for the holidays krip

Man I totally get that! I have like 14+ strains going at the moment! I have empty spots in my flower tents with little soil ready to go and only one plant big enough to flower out. Before I can do that though I need to take clones of 3 or 4 strains before I can move any of them up. For some reason my last few plants I moved to flower are struggling and I am not sure why. My tent has been between 70 and 84 and I have been using an aquarium heater to warm up my water and yet I am still getting rust spots on the younger ones and crispy leaves on the more advanced ones. I have not changed how I feed or anything so I am wondering if I screwed up with mixing or cooking soil some how. I threw some leaves in my bin with some roots and while the leaves are still there I did get a nice healthy fuzz all over them as they started to get eaten. So the soil is in fact alive if not exactly thriving. So I am just kinda stumped and slightly discouraged. I am supposed to be getting better at this lol. I knew you would understand the woes of the perpetual grow. Thanks for the encouragement bud!

Yeah any additional space gets used quickly most of the time. I do have an under utilized veg area right now but as soon as I take clones that I have been putting off it will be filled up again. 13-15 weeks is not awful. I mean it isnt get but it could be worse. the only Ace strain I grew was Violetta and it was supposed to run 9 weeks... well 16 weeks into flower she got cut and would have been better utilized as a broom than as buds. I was pretty disappointed with her. The aireiest buds I have ever grown just about and no color at all. Figures that the strain I ran due to relatively short flowering times and the promise of purple turned out to take 4 months and be green. I had a similar experience with Cannalope Haze too.

Yes, the AK and is one of the reasons I'm experimenting with different Kush strains. Never tried the Kona Gold but will look into it! :thanks:

FYI, I make my Dad RSO capsules from the meds. He says that not only does it calm the external tremors, but, as he explains it, he also feels the tremors internally and it calms those, as well. He's constantly telling me that I've done more to help him than all of his doctors combined (and, he has a lot of 'em!). You may want to see if your cousin can get/make your uncle some RSO caps! Rick Simpson was a Canadian, eh!

He vapes for some post-shingles pain but it barely helps, so I'd like to find him something for that - even if it wasn't cannabis-related!

Exactly! When the breeder says 8 weeks, figure closer to 10, so when they tell you up to 15 weeks, six months is probably a safe bet!

It sucks to go that long on a plant and have a crappy harvest knowing you coulda' got two harvests of a producing strain in the same period of time.

Interesting I’ve made rso before and I’ve taken it but don’t think my cousin or uncle has. Maybe I’ll hsve to make some Canna caps n send them off ! Thanks for the idea krip

Exactly! I take everything to 10 weeks just about unless it asks for more. I do not mind up to 12 weeks of flowering. Over that gets to be too much almost. Unless it produces. I ran Shackzilla for 4 rounds I think with it taking 15 weeks to flower, but I got buds like this:
