Tales From The Krip!

WHITE WIDOW & FRUIT PUNCH HARVEST PICS

I harvested both the White Widow and Fruit Punch this morning. The FP was foxtailing like crazy and I could have let it go another week, but really wanted to get the next round in the main tent since the vegging girls were growing into the lights in the temporary space. I'll get some pics of them soon, but still need to really clean out the tent.

The White Widow just might be the winner in the group in terms of quality. I haven't even sampled any yet, but she's covered in trichomes and smells just amazing! :yummy:

Unfortunately, she's the only plant from last round I didn't take a clone of AND she was a very low yielder. I did start her a little later than the others (not as late as the Blackwater, though!) but even so, I think I'll only yield about an oz and a half - maybe 2 oz. if I'm lucky.

Here's the whole White Widow plant cut at the base:

Here's some of the trimmed colas:

And, some of the nicer buds:

The Fruit Punch also smells incredible! I love those fruity strains and she's a good mix of heavy fruit with a diesel smell. Here's the Fruit Punch pile of colas before & after trim:

Fruit Punch nicer buds:

All washed and hanging to dry in the tent.

This has definitely been my best grow, to date with every one of the four strains and five plants producing some fantastic meds - and I do attribute the increase in quality to Doc's HB kit. :thumb:

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in 2nd & 3rd run soil, though, this next round will be in 1st run again.

Happy Harvests!

TUT #1 MIDS & TOPS

This is the batch of Tut #1 buds I jarred earlier and is now back on the drying rack. It's mostly the mids and smaller tops and I would still consider it the "good stuff" - just not the "best of the batch"! :yummy:

As the RH comes down some more, they'll start looking even better!

Happy Harvests!

Tut buds and harvest both look awesome! Congrats on another mighty fine harvest! You crushed it with the kit! :high-five:

WHITE WIDOW WET WEIGHT

I just cut the buds off the stems of the White Widow, put them in paper bags and into the fridge for a slow dry. It looked like more than I originally thought so I took a quick wet weight (which, again, I RARELY do!) and it was 319 g's, so I'm thinking I should get right around 2 oz's once dry and with a final trim.

I'll take it! :D

White Widow is beautiful.
Isn't it silly that the post office did that... Instead of sending it back to you at first sorting...
Awesome stuff krip and I look forward to seeing your top colas!! Those bottom buds look great so I can imagine how nice the tops all are!
Stay medicated my brother !:passitleft:
Killer crops Krips... you're gonna love the WW. Smooth, tasty, and the high is great. Your buds have the same coloring as mine did so you won't be dissapointed.

Great harvests Krip and some mighty fine looking buds! Wicked amounts of frost and some great big colas!

Keep up the great work Krip!

Thanks everyone & sorry I haven't had a chance to respond sooner. Just crazy with the harvesting, drying, curing, cleaning, etc. and appreciate all the good words.

Here's a quick shot of one of the Blackwater buds currently curing:

Oh Blackwater keep on rolling, Mississippi moon won't you keep on shining on me! :yummy:

Hmmm :hmmmm:....That MUST be why they're called the "Doobie Brothers"! :ganjamon: I was gonna do some bong hits, but I think I better roll a doobie, instead!

TUT #1 EARLY WEIGHTS

I just jarred the Tut #1 buds and, since they were going in jars, figured I'd get some quick weights just to get an idea of what's really there. The weight going into jars was 264 g's and, add to that the 29 g's already dried in the lower buds, that would give a total of 293 g's which is almost 10.5 oz's!!! :yahoo:

In reality, I expect to lose about 20% more weight in the buds just jarred since they're still around 70% RH but that would still give 211 g's in addition to the 29, so, it should be something like 240 g's total yield or around 8.5 oz's just off of Tut #1 and that doesn't include all the trim for RSO (I mix all the trim so can't break out the weights per strain). That one plant alone is more than I've harvested at any one time, so I'm a pretty happy stoned camper! :thumb:

BLACKWATER EARLY WEIGHTS

Wow! It looks like I may have greatly underestimated the weight on the Blackwater with those long, dense colas. She was the last/youngest plant to get put into flower and was only in a 5 gallon (or less?) SIP but looks like will be a great yielder! I just jarred 182 g's of Blackwater buds that look to be around 72% RH right now. If I lose another 20% weight, that would be about 145g's added to the 18 g's of already dry smaller buds (she didn't have many small buds! :ganjamon:) that would be over 5.5 oz. from the Blackwater and I only estimated about 3-4 oz's! :yahoo:

I'm still gonna take final weights once the RH comes down, and it looks like I SHOULD end up with more than the 16-18 oz. total yield originally estimated. :slide:

Drive-by,,, duck................

Chucky buds... I almost grew that strain awhile back.

Give her a slow go on the last couple % of moisture and you'll keep more weight. They is a pretty close forumla for wieght estimates till you run into the solid rock hard buds I love them buds you can tear an individual flower and it fills a 1 hit bowl on the bong..... Congrats Mister Krip. That name always reminded me of Hoover Street and such stuff down LA ways.. Or compliments of CDC with one of their fine live-in '''collages''''' if ya know what I mean....C/D/C Ca Dept of Corrections

I got to do alittle back ''''Evalyn Woods'''' speed reading course in reverse.. Anyone remember that one ???
But I'm abit behind

Congrats on your harvests. Looks really good even the trim tray make my mouth drool a little bit, just outta the corners a little. lol

I hope your VEG room is over grown and your fridge is filled with weed! :passitleft:

I did the low and slow and let them go 3 weeks was perfectly dry.

Good times are here, eh buddy.

Edit = Evelyn Woodhead Sped reading course.... Cheech and Chong! ding ding ding I'm a weiner. lol

QUICK UPDATE

New seed orders are here! :yahoo:

I'll be germinating a Platinum Cake & Platinum Kush Breath for the next round, and, since I said "next round" that means there must be a "this round" again! :slide:

I just up-potted this afternoon and did some LST & Supercropping to fill out the horizontal space, so they don't look as perky as they did a few hours ago ;) ...

We've got two In-House Genetics Dolato's on the left, a Barney's Farm Blue Gelato 41 in the back-right, and two IHG Forbidos - one in the front-right and other in the middle.

The last harvest is still drying & curing and, I can tell you all that I most definitely over-estimated the weight of the Blackwater in my last estimate and it will be closer to my original estimate of 3 oz's, I think. I had thought the humidity had settled at around 72% when I had first put it into jars, but once those huge buds started sweating, it shot way up, so there was more water weight than I had thought.

Happy Harvests!

Holy jeez, nice harvest! :drool::high-five:

Thanks, Brother! :thanks:

Actually, the pics above are the second half of the harvest. The first half is in these three posts:

IN SOLIDARITY - TUT #1 HARVESTED!

In a show of solidarity with Brother Bob, I decided to chop Tut #1 tonight. :yahoo:

She was the biggest (not the tallest, though!) and good to get her out of the way first.

Here's the pile of freshly harvested colas:

After removing the large fan leaves:

After washing & hanging in the tent to dry:

The top colas will go in the fridge for a slow dry and the bottom colas will get a shave with the new trimmer and dried on the rack.

Not sure I'm gonna get to the Blackwater tonight, but I think that's the next one to get harvested. Once that's done, I'll be able to lower the lights for the White Widow and Fruit Punch for their last week, or so.

Happy Harvests!

BLACKWATER CHOPPED & TUT #1 BAGGED & FRIDGED!

I put all the "primo" buds from Tut #1 in paper lunch bags and into the fridge this morning and used the new machine to trim up all the smaller buds. The stuff I put in the trimmer was all the buds I normally would have just thrown in the trim bag for oil and after some turns of the crank, it returned probably close to 1.5 oz. (estimated after drying) of decent (although small!) buds that will go in the bud jars, and another ounce, or so, of chopped trim that will be used exclusively for oil.

As for the Blackwater, here are her four main colas. For size reference, that foil pan is 22" long!

Here is the total haul, after trimming:

And, here are a couple of close-ups of her four main colas:

I'm estimating about 3 oz. once dried and I'm sure gonna be growing her again! :yummy:

Happy Harvests!

TUT #2 HARVESTED & HANGING!

I harvested Tut #2 today. Her main colas were bigger than Tut #1's mains, but she also had a lot of side branching with smaller, including a LOT of popcorn, nugs. The undersides of her sugar leaves are absolutely coated in trichomes and they look white.

I'm estimating about 4-5 oz. total, once dried.

Here's the harvested cola pile:

Trimmed up colas:

And, a bowl of smaller buds that will go in the trimmer:

Hanging in the tent to dry after bud washing:

Small buds taking 3 tiers in the dry net:

Some immediate satisfaction :yummy::

:drool::adore:

That Tut looks mighty fine! Nice color too, did you let them get very cold?

Thanks, Brother! Nope...temps never got below about 72*F but the tops got some great color. Below the canopy, it was pretty much all green.

Standby for some of the dried Tut #1 "primo" bud pics! ;)
