Tales From The Krip!

Drive-by,, I got a trimmer too.. Miss J.. just don't let her hear... JK of course. Hopefully that Tut shit is all she's cracked up to be. I almost got afew,to look at, a while back. Who knows maybe a good sale on somewhere bout X-mas and all... I got to back read and see how it turned out. Looks tasty.
The reason I piped out was I got a friend that had one of them big ass Twister Units. I could see how he had use for it though he was doing a larger large outdoors back in Cali.It did a good job as long as the buds were uniform,, and the right type too.. And cranked them out too. That machine had acouple vacuum units to pull off the trim and collection tanks. Better do alot more than trim for whatever price he paid. I know he did use alot of trimmers for a while till he got that.

Yeah, I've seen those - I believe you're referring to the "Twister" trimmers! Them units start around $5k and can go up to $25k, or so, depending on the model! But, if you have a field of outdoor 10' plants to trim up, you either end up paying a lot of illegals and hoping they show up and do a good job, or invest in one of those type units!

EDIT: I see you said it was a Twister trimmer! I don't know why, but I somehow read it as "Tornado" so wanted to specify it was a "Twister". This Tut must be hitting me harder than I thought!

:rofl::rofl: Classic! Those crappy buds look pretty great! :yummy:

Thanks, Bro & yeah, I'm pretty happy with them. Right now they have a terp profile of hay mixed with cut grass, but I'll be able to survive on it until the rest of the harvest is cured (well, I may need to break into the Tut #2 trimmer buds, too!).

TUT #1 TAKIN' SELFIES!

I was just burping the jar of Tut #1 "trimmer buds" and, when I burp them, I tend to roll the jar/buds to mix them up a little and change positions where they may be touching another bud. As I was rolling the jar, one of the buds caught my eye, so I pulled it out to inspect and saw this:

First, Brother Ween was right....judging by those trichomes, it does look pretty good for one of the "crappy buds"!

Next, you can see, it looks like she selfed. I haven't seen any other seeds in any of the other buds and because these were all from the lower/small buds, I'm pretty sure it self seeded, but it wasn't like she spent extra long in flower.

I'll have to keep an eye out for more seeds in ALL the plants now. In the mean time, the seed I found is in a small zip labelled "Tut #1 - S1" ;)

I just lost a whole crop to seed. One plant threw out what I was almost 100% sure was a male preflower so I watched really close and all she/he/it did was throw female flowers. Mid-harvest I noticed all the preflowers were still male and acted as such. Hopefully, you don't get too many seeds. I always wondered if someone was doing the manufacturer screwed up and are sending out hermie plants?

Yeah, that sucks, Brother - sorry! I was keeping a close eye out for nanners this whole grow and didn't notice a thing. And, I've trimmed up about 10-12 oz's already and haven't noticed anything, either. I also didn't see any seeds in the "shake" leftover from the trimmer. BUT, this is the first jar being cured and that bud actually went through the trimmer; plus there's two more plants to still harvest, so I expect we may find a few more and, hopefully, no more than a few! ;)

White widow looking great. I hope you don't get more than a few seeds but it's cool that you got that 1, will it make it into rotation fairly soon?

:passitleft:

Thanks, Brother! It's not likely in my lifetime! It was from Tut #1, which I think is gonna be the best of the two, but I still have 5 more Tut seeds from Pyramid I haven't even sprouted, I have a clone of Tut #1, and, as near as I can tell without getting finished weights, I just harvested about a half a pound of Tut #1. Not to mention the seed stash, of course!

I think the next two strains I'm gonna pop will be the Platinum Cake and Platinum Kush Breath from IHG. There was an issue with the last order just discovered on Monday, so it's delayed and it will likely be another two weeks before the seeds even get here.

As it turns out, my mail service sent my cash payment (which was sent certified mail, BTW!) but forgot to put the postage (I had paid them for!) on it. The envelop went from the East Coast to the West Coast and then got returned back to me on the East coast for having no postage; so, it's delaying the order, but I'm sure as hell getting my money's worth on the postage cost! If the post office was a business, it would be out of business!

I've had that happen before postage ping pong..

Hey if you only find very few seed,, they are worth growing.. Me I'm scared of the ones that got alot of seed. Some of the best pot I ever grew came from bag seed. Back when wasn't a place to get seed,, so afew in an oz was welcomed.

Yeah, every time I find a seed in a GOOD bag of med's, I consider it like a $5 rebate from the supplier!

I do save every seed I've found in a good bag and have them all in a film container (remember when they used to sell film?) unlabelled and separate from my regular seed stash.

This might just be a dream but someday, when it gets filled up, I'd like to hike cross-country playing "Johnny Appleseed" and plant a seed every mile then fly back home and hike back across the country harvesting & smoking all the plants along the way!

Hey...a guy can dream, can't he?

TUT #1 TRIMMER BUDS - EARLY SMOKE REPORT

Tut #1 was harvested last Wednesday and the really small buds got put through the new trimmer and dried on a net. They're now in the cure zone and the chloraphyl/hay smell is completely gone and a pungent floral smell is now starting to show strong.

The Tut is an AK-47 cross and AK-47 was the very first plant I brought to harvest. It smells very similar, but I was a noob grower back then and the buds weren't nearly as dense, pungent, or as covered with trichomes as these (wait till you see the upper buds once they're done! :yummy:):

Personally, the earthy/floral profiles tend to be my least favorite and I prefer the fruity, skunky, piney, pissy, diesely strains but the smoke is very smooth, especially considering it's got a way to go before it's finished curing.

While the early testers were more "creeper", this stuff now hits almost immediately and is a nice mix between a head buzz and body high. Not a real "couchlock" but very relaxing and it is a "one-hit quitter" for any person inclined to stop after one hit. I just space them out a little, or maybe just space out a little between bong hits!

It does appear to be good "social" meds but I wouldn't want to have to take a math test after smoking this! I do find this stuff makes me pretty forgetful (usually, my memory is pretty sharp!).

The real determination of when I grow it next will be how much relief my dad gets from this versus the other strains. Whichever helps him most, will be grown again along with some new strains for him to test to see if we can find one that helps him more/better; and that will likely be the plan going forward.

That being said, I would HIGHLY recommend at least trying TUT and I rate it a 7 out of 10 bong hits:

:bongrip::bongrip::bongrip::bongrip::bongrip::bongrip::bongrip:

Happy Harvests!

QUICK UPDATE & EVOLVING FLAVORS

As the early buds continue to cure, I can see both the terp profile and effects evolving. The Tuts, which I first described as "floral", then "pungent floral" has now become kind of "sour orange" and this stuff now hits hard & quick! In fact, I think I have to up my previous rating from a "7" to an "8"! :thumb:

The Blackwater started as fruity, then evolved to more of a diesel smell at harvest, and now with the cure, it's more of an earthy/sweet/grape smell. Not really "fruity" but undertones of grape. I'll give a separate review on the Blackwater in another post, but this is also some hard-hitting meds and I think may have some promise on helping my Dad's pain, so I'm looking forward to getting some cured buds in his hands ASAP. I also need to make him another batch of RSO caps and I'll be doing that with the trim from both Tuts and the Blackwater.

I'm going to likely harvest the other two plants tomorrow and get the vegging girls out of their temporary space in my bathroom and into the tent. The White Widow is ready and looks incredibly frosty. The Fruit Punch looked like it could go a few more days, but, at this point, it should be close enough and I'm anxious to get the next round started. I may decide to let her go a little longer when I check her in the morning.

Now that it's been 10 days in the fridge, I took a couple of oz's of the Tut #1 buds out and put them in the dry tent for the day today then jarred them (need to make room in the fridge for the harvest tomorrow! ;) ). The RH shot up to 80% so I put them back in the fridge (for now) in a half gallon mason jar with a coffee filter secured by the lid. I'll take this back out in the morning and put the buds back on the drying rack tomorrow to dry a little more.

I've seen the whole "rice ball" thing, but would prefer to use the dry net to complete any drying not done in the fridge. It is my first time using the "low & slow" method (and, I will definitely be curing this way going forward!) but don't see the point in doing a "low & slow" then using rice balls to rapidly drop the RH to a point where it can be jarred. Seems to me it kind of defeats the purpose of the slow cure. :hmmmm:

I'll try to post some harvest pics of the White Widow & Fruit Punch tomorrow.

Happy Harvests!

TUT #1 MIDS & TOPS

This is the batch of Tut #1 buds I jarred earlier and is now back on the drying rack. It's mostly the mids and smaller tops and I would still consider it the "good stuff" - just not the "best of the batch"! :yummy:

As the RH comes down some more, they'll start looking even better!

Happy Harvests!
