Tales From The Krip!

Damn!! Damn!! Damn!!

Don't expect me to quietly pack up my dreams. It's all about protecting the jobs. How tragically shortsighted. I thought the man had more balls than this.

We're an international laughingstock. This is so rediculous. We should revolt in some act of civil disobedience. God, I can hear all those mothers screaming.

Technically, I think we're all revolting in some act of disobedience!

In order for this government and the big pharma companies to continue profiting off of people's illnesses they have to demonize cannabis and its "REAL" healing effects in return or be put out of business for good which will never happen in this land of pill pushing hypocrites trust this gent. Just my two cents & I'll leave at that!

Yes we are, :laughtwo: and governmental insanity like this only makes us dig our heels in.

I recently took a webinar from the University of Vermont on The Economics and Business of Cannabis. In the face of today's news I'm sure some of you are asking yourselves how the Federal government can be so blind to the truth? What can their impetus possibly be?

When you run a business your federal tax rate is about 35%. This is because you can write off the cost of doing business. But cannabis is a schedule one drug, so any business built around cannabis, legitimate though it may be in your state, can not have any deductions, because your product is illegal in the eyes of the federal government. But the federal government welcomes your intention to set up and run that business your state said you could legally run.

And the federal government gets to tax you at up to an 80% rate. Stop for a moment and consider the millions and millions and millions of dollars in potential profits made in the industry over the past year alone and think of how the federal government now stands to profit from this. Watch how many businesses fall after their first tax filings.

Then we have the disconcerting reality that our police forces and the prisons they serve are in the business of profiting from our schizophrenic war on cannabis. No way are they going down without a fight.

No way are we changing our methods either. If anything, we'll be more committed.

We need to think way outside the box on this one if sanity's ever going to rule.

I just ran around the block naked. Does that count as civil disobedience? I'm pretty sure the young couple riding their tandem bicycle thought so  lol!

Sorry Sweetsue, couldn't help myself.

Yeah .. hope you had a sign saying re classify cannabis...

Look good Mr. Krip! Just to clarify... that Blue OG is actually a Sour OG? How did that happen? Breeder?

Do you have documentation drcannabi?

I went from 4x4 to 3.3x3.3, gets hot fast, hard to cool, to small. Much less air volume, I have no idea how you get anything smaller to work.

Sent from my SPH-L720T using 420

millertm, I found this back by the link - one of those spans when I was busy and missed pages - and wanted to comment. I control the heat buildup in the smaller 2x2 tents by leaving the flap open along the top for lights on. I also have small fans in each tent that blow air up towards the filter vent. It's a frustrating way to do it, but I vent into the room itself and heat builds up quickly if I don't keep after it. I also have small fans pushing cooler, air-conditioned air from the floor level into the tents.

It's not a good option for someone who isn't home most of the time, but it works for me. Venting the tents outdoors just isn't an option here. It works better in winter when the tents help warm the apartment. :battingeyelashes: Have you figured out how to keep yours under control?

I agree with K, that small spaces call for smaller lights. I won three massive ones and wasn't about to set them aside because I have tents too small for their power. I'm a little hardheaded like that.

QUICK VEG TOTE UPDATE

The stealth veg tote is doing its job! My lawn care company was by a couple of days ago and, once again, was literally within 1'-2' from the tote and didn't notice a thing! :yahoo:

That being said, I still can't wait to get back indoors to an actual cabinet, at least until I have a "real" way to grow outdoors cuz' those t5's are no match for the tropical sun. :)

The White Widow had a little bit of a tough start between being blown over multiple times, and really soaked in a rain because I put the drain holes too high on the tote (I'm going to add some lower) so she got a little burnt on the tips of her first set of leaves. I was concerned about root rot but she is recovering fine and the second set of leaves look good:

The Cherry Bomb is just doing great and loving it outside. She was a quick rooter and quick grower from the start:

And, here they are in their tote with the two Sour OG clones, which are also loving the outdoors:

For whatever it's worth, I'd hate to have to try to get through a full grow in that tote, but for a very cheap and temporary stealth grow space for a few small plants, it really is working great! :thumb:

Happy Harvests!

Good morning my friends . I have a question, what is a hearty plant to grow in the fall and winter? also do those so called grow lights they sell in the store really work?? Bamaman

Sweet K. The Cherry Bomb is a little gem, isn't she? I suspect someone with a talent for training them severely low could give a decent yield in the end from this tote growing approach. You could work out a way to stack them too, if need be, making better use of the verticle space. A wire kitchen/pantry shelf like the one I used in the big tent last year would be great for this. I could get three high with no problem. Sounds like a fun project for someone. That someone won't be me, :laughtwo: at least not this year, but think of the possibilities.

Do me a favor please. Stop by my yard and tell me what I'm doing wrong with my hempy. I'm at a loss. I feel like I'm missing some critical understanding of the process. I'm wondering if it could be the seed and I just need to restart. This should be easier than it's been going for me.

If all you want to grow is a seedling, then yes bamaman, they work just fine. :laughtwo:

CFLs are a good choice in a pinch. The 23watt version will give you some of the most efficient light (from the sides of the bulbs, not the ends). And you can be creative and get them right up in there. You can get a 23watt CFL to 1.5" from the plant. This means you can surround the plant with little bulbs and kick ass

Just my 2 cents worth. :battingeyelashes:

Good afternoon, by the way. :hugs:

Thanks Sue, I only had luck with 1 Early Miss plane that gave me 3.5 oz of buds and they are great, but to get through the winter I need 1 more plant like that or i'll be REALLY hurting. I'm really schooled on the lighting part that ios all new to me so forgive me if I ask stupid questions. I have ALOT of room in my 3 story house I winter in ,but it gets to -25 in the winter so I have to set something up inside.Bamaman

Hi Bama, I'd go for a 4x4 tent, 2 fans (intake, exhaust), a carbon filter and light of choice. On line a setup like this will run around 500 hps or 1000+ for LED.

Hardy strains I've grown are shiva skunk and super lemon haze. Very hardy and should do well in the above mentioned tent. MMJ grows best in temps between 70-85 degrees.
