Taking My Chances With The Devil: Dark Devil Auto & Devil's Crack Auto

First, some sunlight to show off DP x TTB
And now a montage of my two green and one deep purple. This cultivar is going to continue to have a spot in my garden. Be nice to stabilize that stinky dark one. All 3 stink to high heaven but that purple one is skunky.

Started flushing DP x NL x GG#4 expecting her to be done before Sunday and the other short DP x TTB to go for up to 10 days in flush as she is much greener.

So, the verdict is in on the expanded grow area. After I purchase a blackout curtain, a fan, and a couple of other small cogs in the machine; I will have a 20"x48"x60" closet to grow autos, clones, and seedlings. As always heat will be my enemy this summer. Window fan and maybe another fan/filter combo if I can stretch my dollars. I can't use A/C because the window gets too much direct sun.

This means more plants, more lights, more seeds, more pictures, and more overall yield.

It's been about a week now since I popped the Harlequins and with 2 plants being flushed, it is time to pick something else to drop. I am beginning to enjoy harvesting every 2 weeks or so.

I plan to pop the Zorillo Loco seeds to go into the tent this week and as soon as the closet is up and running, in go Sensi Northern Lights and some Northern Lights x Hawaiian Kailua Pua for a 3-4 week veg, cut clones and into flowering. At that time I will also start my autos for the breeding project.

Sativa summer may not happen exactly how I wanted it to, but we are going to make the best of it.

Good to hear you've got things on track and moving forward. I love it when a plan comes together.

It's not quite together yet. Now it is all about finding time to get things set up. Kids will be keeping me on my toes for sure since wife starts school tomorrow. Lol. I can work it in though, they don't mess with the plants, just everything else in the damn room.

So, I've smoked heavily on this Devil's Pitchfork x Trailer Trash Betty bud for 3 full days now plus I gifted a bit to the neighbor. I'm going to jump out on a limb and say she yielded about 1/2oz in that 20oz hempy. I cannot complain,.

I think the 40oz hempy of the same cultivar will hit closer to 3/4oz. The bigger purple ones, I just can't tell yet. Now the big slow flowering green pheno is a bit of a beast in her own right, but very slow going. That carries over from the sativa genes I am sure.

Eyeing up Devil's Pitchfork x NL x GG#4 for harvest on Wednesday or Thursday. She is very "ripe" and although I should have flushed a week ago, I kinda wanted to let her run a bit longer than I have been running the ladies. I like fall colors.. I thing she is going to be very potent based on how smelly and sticky she is. Smells like rotten, not quite fermented, grapes

SSDC is getting smelly but will yield very little. Rifleman warned me of this. Hoping the Incredible Bulk can eventually... bulk them up a bit.

Closet is pretty well cleaned out. Once I have a fan, we will be in business. The space bucket will get reassembled when i get some solder to doctor the 12v fan connection. I will have that squeezed into the closet until I add a blackout curtain. I will report more later when I get some update photos taken.

I am torn about closet lighting.. I can either disassemble the Mars300 with 4 burnt diodes and build a 3000k cob array, or I can just blast the Mars until she drops.

I think 3-4 cobs (66-88w) would do good, but running the Mars is less labor intensive. Of course I don't really like blurple bleeding out of the apartment blinds either. Back and forth, hem and haw, this or that.

Seedlings or clones in the bucket and autos/veg in the remaining 3 linear feet. Ceiling is right about 5 1/2 feet. I have a bit of room to play.

Now a quick photo update.

Harlequin are sickly seedlings. I hate rockwool. They get transplanted tonight before lights out.

That looks like it should smoke well!

Rockwool... of 5 Harlequin seeds 4 cracked. One opened and died before it was born leaving 3 misfits. One got bound up in the rockwool to grow in a circle, and one I snapped the tap root off whilst un-binding it from rockwool, and the final one popped and shot up like a scrawny beanstalk. Switching to rockwool has been nothing but heartache.

I removed the most sickly fan leaves when I flushed today. Revealed a lovely sight.

Her purple sisters are a week or two out from flush

The green sister.... no idea when she will finish.

These are some meaty buds. Maybe 3 weeks left, maybe less but I doubt it.

And then these two lonely gals. SSDC will be done in a week or two and the Red Point cross, who effing knows?

Solder will be here by the 9th so I can get to work building another cob fixture. I might get fancy and try to use my old wing reflector. Maybe replace my 44w cob tent fixture with a 3 or 4 cob plus reflector version. Sounds like something exciting to build for sure.

Still debating on a fan. Thought about getting just a tabletop fan. Light leaks won't be an issue after all so air exchange is all squared away.

So as far as I can figure, the closet would have a 44w Vero18 fixture running alongside my 50w 6500k+blurple fixture. The tent would have my QBs and a 66 or 88w Vero18 fixture. We will see how the puzzle fits together after I have all of the pieces (the fan).

As soon as I have that I will go ahead and skuff/soak a Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL to go in the closet for veg. I am hoping to supercrop the hell out of her and stick her into the tent when the time is right. This particular cultivar has been the best yielder since I started growing again last year. Imagining her with a 4+week veg..mmmmmmmm

Going through seeds and I came across Devil's Pitchfork F2 seeds (about 50). The closet has my wheels turning faster than I can grow. No new breeding until the Harlequin project is finished.... that's what I tell myself anyway. Devil's Pitchfork F3 autos would be freaking cool.

Another seed drop coming next week. Starting to think I need to veg and clone (preserve) Zorillo Loco so I will have to decide on something else for 11/13 from seed. Maybe Nicole Kush x Moroccan or some of the Devil's Pitchfork x Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL. Almost too many options. Whatever I choose will likely end up getting a dose of Harlequin pollen because I am not removing the males.

Wife got her unexpected final L&I settlement check. Not stuck with a $13 Ebay fan after all, lol. I found a 4" inline fan with plastic housing for $32. I would hate to buy a fan depending on my old carbon filter which has been used a ton already. Idk, the filter worked fine when I put it away, just the fan's bearings were shot. I will probably get it and buy a new filter next month either way. That should leave me with money for some backup nutrients and ph strips. We will see.

The closet is my main focus right now. Tent is looking like at least half of my plants are going to be finished at about the same time. Although it will be nice to have more smoke than I need it is Not optimal for an 11/13 from seed perpetual. This closet will be my saving grace and hopefully I can dial flowering times in a little better.

I lowered the lanky Harlequin seedling because it appears to be too close to the light. On a happier note the spiral stem and broken tap root seedlings are doing great Damn tent is crowded.

I think I got a good yield off of the DP x NL x GG#4. The fullest bag and most dense buds drying in the fridge to date. I am fully expecting these to dry in 10 or more days from today. Time will tell I guess. When I harvest DP x TTB in a few days, I may have to hang her in the tent because I am only allowed one crisper drawer in the fridge.

I just went ahead and bought the cheap 4" inline fan off the 'bay. It really is what I need, and wife agrees I can buy another filter next month if the one on hand fails for whatever reason.

Can't wait to get some more lights built. I have an idea brewing for a fixture that could be a game changer in my world. Veg/clone/autos are going to run at lower watts but I am going to juice the tent with more watts.

I have 2 drivers that can each handle 3 Vero18s run at 22w each. I have 2 1ft sections of aluminum threshold, an old wing reflector and a nice lil 12v fan. My math says 132w. Adding that to my 240w QBs makes 372w. Veg closet should run at about 94w. So even after adding in fans my total grow should be pulling under 600w since the current fan and the new one draw 60w each.

I have just 3 flowering plants. All are strains new to me so not sure what to expect. First is from @SeedsMan , their Gelat.OG and she is a light loving plant. From the time the lights come on in the morning till lights out she is praying to the light. She was flipped on 2/15 so that's 50 days.

This is a bud on my Sour Angel plant from In House Genetics. This is, according to the breeder, a pure indica plant. She was grown from a clone and flipped on 2/28 to flowering which is 37 days ago. If her crystals keep building at this rate she will be a sight to behold.

The last plant in my flowering tent is a Chemdawg from Humboldt Seed Organization. Also grown from a clone, she was flipped on 2/22 which was 43 days ago. I've been struggling with her a little bit keeping her leaves looking healthy. She likes a LOT of Calmag.

Hope it's okay to share these here as I no longer have a thread that anyone follows.

You can share whenever you like. It's pretty quiet around here with the exception of my long winded pot fueled ramblings.

Those gals are beautiful, Beez. I am infinitely jealous of that chem dawg.

I reversed the Chemdawg and got boy parts. Unfortunately the branch died rather quickly after cutting it off the plant. I did manage to collect a very small amount of pollen but I need to learn how better to keep a cut branch alive for future reference. I pollinated the Chemdawg, Sour Angel and Royal Gorilla plants. But only a bud maybe two on each of these plants. Disappointing to some extent but the pollen was viable, and I can see seeds starting to take shape on the plants. With the Chemdawg seeds priced at $10 bucks a pop even 10 seeds would make me happy.

Ya caught me doing a photo update myself. They never look quite as healthy as yours though, Beez.

Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps is definitely starting to steal the show with amazingly dense flowers and an overpowering aroma. The purple one is definitely starting it's final swell. Very oily plants.

Then my crosses. Some coming along faster than others.

And the stragglers

If I don't get a healthy Male Harlequin I am going to try my hand at reversing after a quick cloning ordeal. Not okay with the thought of losing this strain.

I would honestly leave any reversed branch on the plant and leave her in the tent. You may end up with more seeds than you intended, but they would all be female. My 2 pennies on that. I blew my last breeding by chopping the Male and putting him in a cup of water, tiniest bit of pollen with no signs of successful pollination.

Well since you don't mind me sharing here is a picture of the Chemdawg plant taken yesterday when I had to put some supports on the Sour Angel plant.

The Sour Angel just kept getting wider and wider. I was finding it difficult to reach up under her canopy to water/feed her. From the back of the tent to the front of the plant she was nearly 45 inches. Everything you see on the left side of the tent is one plant.
