Taking My Chances With The Devil: Dark Devil Auto & Devil's Crack Auto

Did you get the camera out for that shot, Bob? Gorgeous bud.

Your Redpoint x U looks pretty good. 2 weeks of VEG. Why plant is smaller for a Sativa?
11/13 lights from seed. 2.5qt nursery pot. Topping and aggressive supercropping. Hafta make them stay small in my world.

The Red Point cross pistils are getting more orange every day. I have no schedule set for her chop. When the trichomes are mostly cloudy with at least 75% orange pistils, I will probably try to flush her for a few days. Hoping she will be done about the same time my NL crosses (cruising right along) finish up so I have a little head stash for once. The Red Points are gold as far as bud quality goes.

As far as DDA goes, I dont dislike it. It is just not my favorite. I won't be discontinuing the strain completely. It is going to be used a lot for breeding more so than just for smoking. Eventually I will have to make S1s just so I have it around to make crosses when i think i have a good idea. Weird that both of mine matured in less than 100 days. Maybe the increased dark hours???

The (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x DDA Male is working up a big load, of pollen, while the female of said strain and the 2 Trailer Trash Betty's are looking to become cute little budsicles. I will pollinate lower budsites on all of my current micro plants and add the Male's carcass to my sleepy butter materials (leaves and stems make sleepy butter)

I have to figure out strain names for my DDA and SSDC crosses. Writing out their entire family history each time is kind of a pain... I'm thinking Devil's Pitchfork for the Red Point DDA cross. This line will continue to evolve until I have built my Devil's Pitchfork Auto in a couple more generations.

The Red Point SSDC cross is a bit trickier to come up with a proper name and I don't know the future of this line. See how the testers turn out before I make any commitments. These seeds are pretty rare, maybe 30 in the entire world. I think I have 18 left out of what I made.

Since i am rambling after 2am... i should stop now before i start thinking of other things to do. Lol. Like starting some Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps seeds tomorrow. Gosh I am a mess when the insomnia gets ahold of me.

Update going from the eldest plant to the youngest.

Columbian Red Point x Unknown is getting a lot of orange hairs. Buds are solid. I had a small branch top snap off a few days ago which didn't heal so it's been drying for a bit. Smoked a tiny piece last night... whoosh, still very speedy and premature. I was looking at my calendar and it looks like I scheduled her chop for December 7th? I think that was the longest I decided I would run her. We will see. I dont care much for calendar deadlines.

Of the two NL crosses in the tent, the Sensi x Nirvana is my favorite so far. Top is already starting to chunk up. The Sensi NL x GG#4 is doing great as well, just not as impressively as the other.

TTBs are doing their little mini-plant thing. I am excited

Devil's Pitchforks (my DDA cross) are also tiny and doing well. The stud did some overnight stretching. He should be dropping pollen within a week I reckon.

Now things get a bit different again. I planted two of my ( Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x SSDC a little ways back in 20oz hempys. Both seem sturdy. They are young, the exciting parts come later, but I do have high Hope's for good smoke.

Oh shoot... on Sunday I planted 2x Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps and 2x White Widow x Wonder Woman in 12oz hempys. More test plants to get the who's who figured out on my strain list. Probably wont be doing any breeding with these, but I may decide to harvest pollen if a robust Male shows up.

I think I am going to have to give the ol' Red Point a heavy flush. That nute burn is intense and i have never even thought about flushing her once. Been treating her like a normal house plant. I will get on that later this morning. In fact I could possibly just start flushing daily until she is ripe. She may be starting to slow her thirst a bit as well, not much, but a bit.

Not sure why I'm rambling at this hour, but here I am. Peace

After rearranging this morning. I did flush the Red Point today as well. I think she appreciated it.

If all goes as planned I will be adding a 2nd mars300 on friday.

Did some math just now. NL crosses are 7 weeks from seed. Flowering for about 4 weeks. Red Point is at 13 weeks I believe, so that would be 10 weeks into flower. She will likely finish ahead of the NL crosses judging by her current appearance, quite the relief.

The root mass of my Red Point is so dense that top watering her completely could take an hour, lol.

I will be flushing for roughly 2 weeks. To do this I fill a 2 gallon bucket with ph'd water and plunge the 2.5qt pot into the water. I hold it under the water until the pot no longer floats. Then I push on the roots to force the rest of the air out, they are very much like a sponge at this point. After that I let it drain for a bit and toss her back in the tent. I plan to repeat this daily for 10-14 days. Today is day 2.

She will be the first plant I have ever successfully finished in coco/perl/verm with none of my signature gravel in the mix (other than the top dressing). I dont much like straight coco. My NL crosses are in coco/perl/verm with probably 65-70% gravel mixed in, I like that much better. But so far I am the biggest fan of the gravel hempy with the coco cap.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

So growing in these 9cm pots appears to have restricted all side branching. The Devil's Pitchfork Male is over a foot tall with zero branches or even signs that they are starting, but the pollen sacks are definitely maturing...

Gonna snap some pics of everyone here in a little bit.

So, after this pollination and my Red Point gets the chop I will be starting a new breeding run. Looking like more TTB and Punto Rojo crosses. Looking for a TTB Male to cross with a female of my red points.

The generous person that donated TTB to my seed stash tells me that this cross should enhance crystal production and speed up flowering time in the F1 generation. As part of this project I will also be making more TTB reg seeds. So, seeds it is, lol.

Other projects on the to do list are Red Point cross F2s, NL x Red Point cross, Devils Pitchfork F3s and an SSDC pheno hunt for making S1 seeds. Should keep me busy for the next year. Lol

The flash on my phone makes the big girl look all white. In reality she has 35-40% orange pistils.

I had three open pollen sacks this morning. I pollinated my short TTB, Devil's Pitchfork, and one lower budsite on Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL. I have him looming over the micro gals. Might just chop the top where I supercropped him last night and stick him in a glass of nutrient solution for the remaining couple days of his life. Males are only allowed to live for a maximum of 3 days after dropping their first pollen in my world.

Flush day #4 of my 10-14 day flush of the Columbian Red Point x Unknown. Leaves are fading. More orange pistils. Cloudier look to the tiny little trichomes. Can't wait to smoke this girl. The smell is getting sweeter.

Not much else going on at the moment. Making seeds, growing buds, and yelling at my pitbull for digging in the garbage last night...

Insomniac updates...

Being on a fixed (broke) income with two kids and a disabled wife makes for some rough times as far as keeping a steady supply on hand. We purchase weed quite a bit and by the end of the month we are always out. We smoke about 4oz per month but can barely afford 2-3. This is why I started growing again this last summer.

So, Columbian Red Point x Unknown is getting her 6th out of 10 flushes tomorrow. I chopped a bud off tonight to oven dry and smoke. Going that route always leads to bland but is efficient nonetheless. This gal will be ready to chop after the 10th flush. I am also considering letting her sit for 2-3 days after the final flush to dry out and finish dying.

I am collecting pollen from my Male Devil's Pitchfork to finish the pollination of my female and the short TTB. The pollen I dabbed around on Friday is already working. So I pollinated short pheno TTB, Devil's Pitchfork, and one lower budsite on Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL. That one probably wasn't the wisest time wise, but I think it will all work out.

Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL is a robust plant that is not finicky and looks to be on the road to dish out a nice pile of buds in a few weeks... I will look closer tomorrow, but I swear I see purple starting on the sugar leaves. Triches are 90%+ clear, pistils are 90% white. Buds are large and very dense.

Sensi NL x GG#4 is also very robust. Lots of side branching, numerous budsites with small buds that are going to blow up anytime now. Beautiful growth structure. Also not finicky whatsoever. I suspect she is 2 weeks behind her half sister. I think like growing these Northern Lights crosses.. I also have some Sensi NL fems and Nirvana NL IBL regs to play with.

The (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x SSDC plants seem to be growing well. I expect them to hit the reservoir at any moment.

The other 4 testers: 2) white widow x wonder woman are coming along fine for their age. And 2) Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps, well one is fine but the other seems funky. Wife told me to kill it, we will see where she is at in a couple more days.

I may be able to sleep soon, better get to it I suppose... later

Just pictures. Yes I see the hair in the Red Point pic, Already taken care of.

I pollinated one budsite on Sensi NL x GG#4 to go along with the single budsite on Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL.The short pheno of TTB is well pollinated. The tall pheno remains seed free.

It is hard to see under my QBs but the buds on Devil's Pitchfork are turning purple. :rollit::ganjamon:

How are the buds on the two NL crosses? I know both the Sensi and Nirvana versions have very hard, dense buds.

They are pretty darn solid. The GG#4 is filling in nicely, but the Sensi x Nirvana is a chunky she-beast. I will take some full plant pics later on today or tomorrow morning.

I hope the pollinated buds will live long enough to give me seeds. It is only 1 lower site per plant so no big loss if they dont make it, but it would be nice.

Well just clip off the buds you want to harvest and leave as many leaves on the plant as you can along with the branch with the bud/s you pollinated. If it has leaves and nourishment it will live till the seeds are mature.

That is the plan. I want to make a few seeds every time a Male is around. Never hurts to have a few extra 20 packs of seeds to add to the bank.

My Red Point x Unknown is almost finished. She is really turning nicely. Very excited to chop her down.. could do it any day now, but I think I am going to let her pot dry out. I guess we will see, I may chop her tomorrow. She has been flushed for 7 days straight now. Maybe a staggered harvest? Lol, I am known for indecisiveness, just ask the wife.......

With my sativa finishing up and Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL coming right behind her in a few weeks, December should be a well medicated month.
