SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Thinking of purchasing this system. It contains 32 12 liter pots. That should allow me to maximize my main grow-space. 32 clones in a sea of green system, max 2-3 weeks of vegg then flip to 12/12.

This is the system I'm considering - Will fit perfectly in my room

Sweet! Have you placed the order yet? :laughtwo: 12 liters is a good size. You planning a hempy set-up? That looks mighty attractive as a method. Standardization of pots will be one of my steps to gain more control on this year.

I always veg almost two months. Lately I've been asking myself why that is. I believe it may warrant a re-evaluation. :hmmm:

Sunday afternoon leaf porn

I was trimming up Carnival 4.1. Check out this leaf!

Then there was this beauty.

It's the middle one, down under all the rest. :cheesygrinsmiley:

We may not grow them for the leaves, but we sure do love healthy ones, don't we? :battingeyelashes:

In a way it's a "hempy"

Will grow in perlite. The system has 32 drippers and a 200 liter reservoir. So it's a recirculating table based dripper system. Can also be used as a flood and drain system. It strongly resembles my first hydro setup which gave me phenomenal results. It's a well tested method and it will be amazing I believe.

Did not order yet. Am talking to several different shops and negotiating the prices. The main problem is the transport prices. Because of the size they're ridiculous

Do you wash your leaves to make oil with SS?

I wash any leaves I'll be freezing. I have a bin that I drop trim into sometimes, with the intention - yet unrealized - to make some dry shake hash from them.

I think of it as my cannabinoid compost heap. Lol!

Anything I freeze becomes edibles. Washing is a necessity, IMHO.

I'm so grateful and so thankful, and I love how much money I have in my life." :slide:

Your affirmations have made such a difference, I've been trying to do my own. Every morning I've been mentioning to the universe that I'm ready to play, so I had to write this one down in my planner!

It fit in quite nicely with my weekly quote! :slide:

Thanks again the Sweetest of Sues.

Good morning everyone

Look, isn't she the cutest little thing?

It tickles me how excited I get to see new seeds sprout. :laughtwo:

Yay for Sue! One less thing to buy! Plugs aren't really needed for seed sprouting in perlite!

:goodjob:

It was your influence that took me over the top Keith. Thank you for the encouragement. :hugs:

Oh smokie..... :hugs: Make my day. :kisstwo:

Looks great sue!

Thanks Grow. :hugs: I love harvesting. :battingeyelashes: I'd like to harvest every week, to be honest. If I ran the spaces at 12/12 or 11/13 lighting I might be able to make that happen, but it sounds a little crazy, to be more honest. I can't dry that much in my fridge. :laughtwo:

Thanks Sue, but any and all credit for Hempy is Teads, his journal makes this method available and accessible to 420Mag folks. (Doc Bud already gets enough Reps! hehehe ... kidding Doc!)

Glad your last seed of a particular strain sprouted!

I too still love to see any seed sprout, regardless of what plant it is. it was magic at 5 years old and still is just as amazing to me. Life springs forth from what seems inert to the eyes, so wonderful.

Drying in a fridge?

Low and slow drying is a new method that SweetSue has been testing. It's to preserve the cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes that are generally lost during a typical dry and cure.

The buds are cut, washed and hung for four hours. They are then placed in jars, and placed in the fridge (for three months I believe?).

I'm sure SweetSue can link you to it, but I hope this helps in the meantime.

That was very close smokie. The cure takes upwards to three months total time invested. It took my last harvest a month to get dry enough in the fridge.

DrZiggy's Low And Slow Drying: Maximizing Your Harvest

When I started growing I didn't know about the cure. Now I champion the process. Ahh, the creative twists and turns Life can take, eh?

I'll have to look into it. I've never heard of it until now.

When you harvest, the first step is to reduce water levels to around 62%. Once you get there you begin the cure, that period of time when the plant's oils mature and grow more potent. This process can take up to three months, depending on how long you're willing to wait.

The intent in the cure is greater potency. In all likelihood what's happening is the THCa, which is a very unstable molecule, aggressively converts to THC, performing a natural decarb. Decarboxylation is a function of time and temperature. Given enough time the THca converts itself without heat.

It's assumed the other cannabinoids also go through a natural decarb state during the cure. Think of it like fine wine. A good cure improves everything about cannabis. In the beginning it's rare that a new grower gets to that three-month mark. Desperation usually rules the day. Lol!

I'm laying down, trying to fall asleep and this is what I'm thinking about. Apparently "I'm ready to have a good night sleep" actually means "think of the forums, go reply to SweetSue".

I understand the wine reference. I spent my college years drinking. But I guess what I'm lost on, is if the low and slow decarbs as well, why smoke it? Isn't the point of setting it ablaze to decarb it?

Or am I just too tired and over thinking it? That's probably it. Had to ask anyways though! Night Sue. :hugs:
