SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Good to know. Money is tight here too! I'm building a tall box inspired by your tiny closet, for autos. Inspired by your grows mostly - but cruising other threads a bit too.

I want to ask some basic questions about my soil... but I'm a bit too wary to start my own journal yet. Could I ask a bit here?

I tried closing my eyes, it still didn't work ..

I've had great success in that tight closet space for years. I retired it for a few months, but I use the light for atmosphere. It's been a challenge having to close it off for flowering darkness. Losing those 200 watts makes a significant difference in the way the room feels during the evening hours.

Hmmmm....... :hmmm: This might explain why I've been getting sleepier earlier than normal. :laughtwo: In my world, earlier than normal is 2 AM. Lol!

The soil questions I can't answer for you can usually find satisfactory answers over at the organic soil discussions thread. That bobrown14 is a warehouse of organic information. :battingeyelashes:

Holy smoke! lots of really great fotos today:thumb:

This one looks like it is thinkin' re veg at the top little bit of healthy growth making it fly like a helicopter top. I like!

That one made me laugh too keltic. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I figured it would catch your eye. :laughtwo:

I've never had a plant do that. All of the trichomes are still clear. I'd have expected that bit of reveg wouldn't have occurred until later in the timeline.

And FWIW - Graytail talks about (somewhere in that thread) giving quite a healthy agitation while dunking!
Who'd a thunk it? Can't wait to try it out .

The prime directive is to keep the branches away from the edges of the basin or bucket. The trichomes are strong and flexible at harvest, but bashing them or smashing them is always a prescription for disaster. I get vigorious with mine too. I create a dancing rhythm. Lol!

Friday night fun

Coffee and Carnival. *contented sigh*

I just solved my mystery about the revegging on the top of Carnival 4. :laughtwo:

I went into the bedroom and unzipped the early bloom tent to snap a couple pictures, knowing I had 45 minutes before lights off at 8 PM. Lo and behold, the lights are already out. It appears that tent has been on a schedule of 11/13 all along, and then I shifted the plants into the 12/12 setting in the finish tent. I've since switched that tent to 11/13, so the confusion stops with this batch.

I swear guys, I set these timers up knowing they were right. :laughtwo:

At least now we know what caused this. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Weekly Update: Finish Tent - Friday, August 11, 2017

Carnival 4 (Day 136, flip + 77) Getting close to the end. Trichomes are still all clear and she's still pushing out a fair number of new pistils. I'll let her ride as long as necessary.

Candy Cane 2 (Day 89) She's beginning to fade, so maybe in another month? :laughtwo: I'm going to assume the next one in line is also a photo and clone her at flip.

Its nice to see these full size girls keep rolling out of your tents

Ultra Dawg (Day 98, flip + 30) When I go to bed at night the smell of this girl permeates my bedroom. :laughtwo: It started just last night, and it's not as noticable this morning, though still pronounced. It must be one of her cues to keep an eye out. I'm not certain how long UD takes to finish.

Love your Ultra Dawg frost. Heavenly.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 ( Day 127, flip + 47) Her second CAT was on Saturday, and she had a drink of plain water yesterday. DeStress foliar was on Sunday. They're due for Brix in the morning.

Brace yourself, she's gotten more beautiful than I remembered. :laughtwo:

The training on this and your other Critical 2.2.1 really are showing good results.

Are you training your hempys?

I would, if the seeds came from the same pack/order. IDK whether or not I mentioned it, but I did some web searching when I saw mention of it not being auto-flowering (as it was advertised to be). Apparently, there were a lot of complaints about this issue, in one relatively short period of time. Someone posted that they had received a reply from the seedbank which stated there had been a little screw-up, and that those customers had inadvertently been sent a different strain. IIRC, it was a new one that hadn't been released yet at that time (but I cannot swear that I'm remembering that part correctly). Here is what I typed into my notes:

MAY BE "SOUR JACK, FEMINIZED!" (Sour Diesel x Jack Herer), "Two famous strains came together (Sour Diesel & Jack Herer) to create our Sour Jack. Mainly sativa with a hint of Indica, Crop King Seed's Sour Jack is a Sativa cross that could be the best in the world. Uplifting in spirit and body, she will knock you on your ass." indica body buzz, multiple phenos, 70% sativa / 30% indica, THC: 16.75%, CBD: .25%, CBN: .51%, easy to grow, up to 500 gram in / 300 gram out.

Does that seem like what you grew (that was supposed to be Candy Cane)?

I'd guess that not having the plants hanging out with you detracted from the ambiance as much as the lower light level did, lol.

BtW, I knew a guy that was playing around with increasing the hours of light - and decreasing the hours of darkness - for a while to see if he could significantly increase his yield. IDK whether or not it gave the hoped for results... But I do seem to recall that his bud was seedier that year ;) .

I doubt a small schedule oops for a short time would be anything to worry about. Still, might want to be extra vigilant when looking for the odd male flower.

Sound advice!

I swear guys, I set these timers up knowing they were right. :laughtwo:

I can totally see me doing something like this. I am going to set a timer to remind me to check the timer!
In truth, tomorrow, I got to set my mind at ease about the timing of my far red, silly me. :laughtwo:

The plant I grew was definately indica-dominant and has a sweet candy smell to her. I'd bet I just got a photo version of Candy Cane. I've never gone looking for comparative grows.

Never even occurred to me to look. Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I've never checked a single plant in my many grows for signs of sexual activity. :battingeyelashes:

Isn't that incredible? And still time to go. Lol! You should smell it. Mmmmmm.....

re: Are you training your hempys? Isee you showed us that already :)

Thank you Rad. It makes me rediculously happy to have one of you talented cultivators compliment my own abilities. :laughtwo: We all like to have our passions acknowledged, don't we? :hugs:

I'm feeling really confident about training the CBD Critical Cures. One of the benefits of growing it over and over. This strain has been fairly consistent for me. I keep looking at pictures of your sativa-leaning one and thinking I might try another seed. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'd have to keep this strain as a mother. It works too well for the daughter to let it go.

Just finished!! Two girl down and two girls with 4 weeks left. I really have them an agitation and the terpenes took to the air like I had never smelt before. It was amazing!! Here a few shots of my Ave Purple Peyote. Not much Purple, guess it was under the leaves the whole time -♂️. ..

Goodnight moon.

From the moment I cut the first branch, there is an aroma on harvest day unlike what she produces on other days.

I had thought 24 hours of darkness before harvest was just a grower superstition, but I'm going to try on my next harvest. I imagine there will be a difference in aroma on harvest day.

I took what Duggan said to heart. In the darkness the plant drops her nutrients into the soil during rest. Given 48 hours should clean a plants system nicely. I guess I'll have no comparison but if the smoke is really smooth compared to the popcorn from a few weeks ago, then I'll have that small comparison lol

I don't know if I buy that explaination, as feel good as it may be. It seems unlikely to me that the transport system for bringing nutrients into the cells would suddenly reverse its pathways during hours of darkness. Something doesn't fit right inside my brain.

It's more likely a survival response. "Someone killed the sun! Here I am! Find me!! I'll make more scent to help you."

That makes more sense to my female brain. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Good morning everyone

Snapped a nice picture of the tiny closet while doing Brix foliars.

IMG_99375.JPG

They're huge!!! :laughtwo:

I must have bumped that timer for the early tent. I woke up at 6:30 when the lights kicked on 90 minutes early. I made a quick adjustment and went back to sleep to hear them kick on a half hour earlier than planned. I'll pull it off again in a bit and straighten it out. It appears this tent has always been 12/12, so my revegging Carnival tops remain a mystery.

It's crazy how much work getting the timers synchronized can be when you're working with four of them. Lol! I may simply leave it as it is.

Another day to fill with joy and gratitude. How lucky are we? :slide: Make the best of yours, and remember, life is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to feel good. :battingeyelashes: I've been invited to a Japanese steak and sushi restaurant this evening, a thank you from the couple I supply pain cream to. I refused their financial compensation and they really wanted to do something nice for me. They're getting spectacular relief from that cream, a fact that surprises none of us that work with canna topicals. They have the feel of long-term use. I'll likely be supplying them with cream from now on.

I'm looking forward to dinner. Haven't tried this restaurant yet. I walk past it almost daily, tempted by the delicious odors. I love the indulgence of eating out, even more so when it's a treat. :battingeyelashes: I get to have crab. :yahoo:

Have a wonderful day. Be bold. Be joyful with deliberation. Change your reality to what you want, if that doesn't match what you see. It's a simple shift of the mind. I know you can do it. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
