SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Well after some research it doesn't seem as bad as I feared. Apparently they take quite some time to grow to the point where they were the size I saw, and they eat each other, so hopefully they killed all the ones I didn't. I just went ahead and pulled off all the buds that looked weird, it was a sad moment

I guess the stuff I have is safe to spray, but I'll hold off unless I see any more damage. I will be keeping a very close eye on everything!

Living an unstructured life has its benefits. No deadlines to get to means I can stop whatever I'm doing and do something else, like finishing up the rest of the Widow x Cheese Hash Hound so generously shared with me. I don't know what got into me, but this was what the hand reached for. It's so nice to have choices.

Sometimes the buds are so pretty you can't believe you're gonna tear them apart. :laughtwo:

This'll keep me busy for a few. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hope you're enjoying it!! .
Be nice to have that kind of choice someday! You seem a bit like me SS, easily high on 'fragments' and favouring sativas ...

I have a random question - relates to your growing space so I think I'm in the right thread here...

At some point in your grow journal history, you added some hanging devices that allow you to easily adjust the height of lights. What are these? What are they called? I've tried to go back and search using various keywords, but can't find the post where you where you mentioned them.

Thanks Sue .

If you have worms, check in with Lester Freeman. He's an outdoor grower and knows everything about 'pillars and worms.

Van got the link for you. I have one set for each light. I've passed a few on to another grower too, over the short time I've been here. A lot of things get shared in this neighborhood. :battingeyelashes:

Just a thought... what may be safe to consume, may not be safe to inhale. So if you will be smoking this bud, you might look for an alternative other than a pest spray.

If It were me, I'd likely do a water cure and drown the little bastards! I did a test of three colas, each which I'd found one bud with bud rot. I cut out the effected buds, and submerged the colas in RO water for five days. Once each day I changed the water. Each day at water changing time I observed cloudy water and heavy aroma from the water. So while terpenes were lost in this process, the bud dried significantly faster than any other method(air drying or low and slow) and the buds smoked much more smoothly than any other method.

For your purposes, Id likely add a dash of H202 to the water. I'd look for all of them I could find when chopped, then after I pulled from water cure and air dried for four hours, I'd inspect every bud and look for any worms I might have missed and cut away some of the surrounding bud. I'd then dry it low and slow in the fridge and jar cure.

They say you loose all aroma and taste with water cure. Doing it five days did loose some, but I have to say that bud is now cured and terpenes did develop into a nice flavor and aroma, just not quite as strong as that of the strain dried in fridge and cured.

They won't survive a 210°F decarbing, lol. And... hey, they eat snails in France. I don't see how anything that once lived can be less tasty (and have a worse... sensation when chewing) than those. Think of it as bud - fortified with extra protein ;) .

That's how I approached mites. :laughtwo:

Friend of mine said if it didn't have bones in it, it wasn't meat - it was just a reason to wear your motorcycle helmet when riding, lol.

I have one of their Critical Kush seeds. Looks like CBD Critical Cure's parents are the CK and "CBD Enhanced," whatever that is. Barney's Farm has a lot of "{strain}xOG Kush" strains (at least five). There's one called Cookies Kush that's supposed to smell and taste like a fresh-baked cinnamon roll with a nutty aftertaste.

It's not on Barney's Farm website anymore, but I recall reading that they teamed up with CBD Crew for the CBD genetics mixed with Barney's Farm Critical genetics. I don't know if the "CBD Enhanced" parent is a different way of referring to the same parent, or if they are using a new parent to make the newer CBD Critical Cure seeds.

Had a little more fun. :cheesygrinsmiley:

This is a nice enhancement. Well done :)

I'll check it out. I only need one at present... my 'closet' is even smaller than Sweet Sue's.

You can take a cutting of the one you're growing in your closet and keep it in a small container, even a cup. I've done that, and placed them under a couple of low-wattage CFLs, feeding and watering them the minimal amount to keep them healthy. Think "houseplant," lol. I've also done this with plants grown from seed. Keeping unwanted growth trimmed helps.

You can get the occasional clone from such a plant - mini-mothers. I found that I could easily keep three on the little space above my medicine cabinet. If I had guests, I'd simply stick them in a nearby cupboard.

I've also kept slightly larger plants in relatively small pots, such as 8" (squared, slightly tapering sides) ones. About once each year, I'd carefully remove them from their pots, cut away a slice of the soil / root mass on each side and the bottom, and pot back into the same container, using fresh soil mix. I am not at the "living soil" point yet.

If you're looking for specific medicinal benefits, it would be a good idea (IMHO) to grow plants from multiple seeds, even if you have to do so over several successive grows. Perhaps you can find a tiny space in which to keep tiny plants? If so, you can keep each previous plant's genetics and phenotype alive while you evaluate the next. Or, if your space is very limited, maybe you could at least keep the best one out of the previous candidates. Minor variations in the various cannabinoids will mean that the ratios change, and our understanding of exactly what this does in terms of effects is still somewhat in its infancy (again, IMHO). Plus, many people feel that a more mature plant can increase the general quality, lol, so if you've got one that's several grows old available... ;)

You know TS, I'm reading this and thinking how easy it was to keep clone cuttings in solo cups with perlite and wondering why I never thought to keep solo cup bonsai mothers? This gives me a way to hang onto genetics I already proved I like while I explore other lines.

Great idea. We have a thread in that.

Life continues to grow more interesting. :cheesygrinsmiley:

On my way to wash the sleepiness from the baby blues with some steamy hydro therapy, but I wanted to stop for a moment and joyfully encourage you to deliberately engage the universe in play on this glorious day. I've been giving a lot of thought to the importance of the joyfulness being deliberate. It's almost as though there's a force in the universe that wants you to acknowledge your awareness that you aren't the end-all or be-all, and that you know your deliberate choice makes the difference.

It's the fundemental difference between being creators and deliberate creators. We all create. Look around you. That's what you created by the thoughts you allowed yourself to think, the feelings those thoughts generated, and the actions inspired by your feelings, the opportunities you noticed because you were actively engaged, or ones you missed seeing because you chose to create by default.

Dare to be deliberate. Say it right out loud "I'm ready to play!" Then wait with joyful anticipation to see what game the cosmic team working on your behalf had in mind to tickle your fancy today. :cheesygrinsmiley:

My team included time with you. :circle-of-love: That makes me very happy. :slide:

Weekly Update: Finish Tent - Friday, August 11, 2017

:laughtwo: Good one Rad. Laughed right out loud.

I got carried away with the pictures today, but I have nothing to do with them today except oooo and ahhhhhh over them. Lol!

Earlier this his week I changed the light schedule to 11/13 to accelerate harvest timelines. I was planning to take Carn 4 and Candy Cane a week ago.

Carnival 4 (Day 136, flip + 77) Getting close to the end. Trichomes are still all clear and she's still pushing out a fair number of new pistils. I'll let her ride as long as necessary.

Ill hang dry this one, in hopes of keeping the BIL from smoking through the low and slo dried Carn 3. I'd like to get a fair amount of her through the three-month cure.

Ultra Dawg (Day 98, flip + 30) When I go to bed at night the smell of this girl permeates my bedroom. :laughtwo: It started just last night, and it's not as noticable this morning, though still pronounced. It must be one of her cues to keep an eye out. I'm not certain how long UD takes to finish.

IMG_97824.JPG

She sure is a pretty one, eh? :dreamy:

Candy Cane 2 (Day 89) She's beginning to fade, so maybe in another month? :laughtwo: I'm going to assume the next one in line is also a photo and clone her at flip.

It's notable that as burnt as those leaves are on her and on Carn 4, I'm not losing any leaves at every watering. They're hanging fast to the leaves they have, damaged or not. Lo like!

Pistil fade is accelerating since the light change.

Still pushing out new pistils like there's no tomorrow.

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 ( Day 127, flip + 47) Her second CAT was on Saturday, and she had a drink of plain water yesterday. DeStress foliar was on Sunday. They're due for Brix in the morning.

Brace yourself, she's gotten more beautiful than I remembered. :laughtwo:

It's a humbling experience to grow so much goodness at once, and that's just the first tent. :laughtwo:

Whew! That took longer than expected. I need some cannabis fortification. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'll be back with more. :ciao:

Sorry! I forgot to add that once the plump little morsels of joy were removed, I'd saute them in butter and garlic and serve them over angel hair pasta!
