SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

RE: Sleep

It's primarily the deep REM sleep that we need. It's less than an hour but it's hard for many people to get there easily. We have to have some time to fall into it, and subconscious thoughts delay it. During that time there are also many metabolic processes going on, like muscle growth and repair, which cause heat flashes and muscle twitching, etc.

If you can get a couple hours of solid uninterrupted sleep that includes REM, that should satisfy the basics. It's getting to REM that takes so long. That's the trick people who only sleep 4 hours use - they get to REM smoothly and quickly.

I must be one of those adaptive people Graytail. Past five hours and I wake up groggy. Four to five hours is what my body runs best on, with the occasional catch-up day a couple times a month when I fall asleep across the bed in the evening.

I'm sure I'm kinda burning those candles at both ends, but I'm not seeing any negative effects from it. My activity levels almost never drop off.

I find that resting while stoned substitutes nicely for sleep. It's basically the same thing - drifting through subconscious thoughts, working things out, breathing steadily and calmly, very little movement ...

:laughtwo: Agreed.

I just finished a meditation. The centering thought was "My purpose is to bring more love into the world."

I think I'm doing it right. :cheesygrinsmiley: :green_heart:

Yes, you are! :)

Good morning!

Good morning Sue, ill just leave these here for you
:hugs:  :hugs:
:passitleft:

Good morning Mr Am4zin. :hugs:  :hugs:

How thoughtful of you. :passitleft:

Good morning everyone.

How convenient to have ripening bananas at my fingertips while I do these morning greetings. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_86843.JPG

I hope everyone got adequate, restful sleep. :battingeyelashes: I have an update to get done after the lights have been on long enough to wake the plants up. Hmmm.... a glance at the weather forecast says no rain scheduled until 4 PM, and overcast means temps are somewhat damped down, so I'm thinking a quick stroll along the river is called for before breakfast. That way I can grab some groceries on the way back. Maybe a nice cup of coffee...... better to save that indulgence for a while. One of my walking friends and I made a pact recently that we'd only hit Starbuck's for a calorie-laden cup of dessert coffee but once a week, after our walk, but we didn't walk along the river on Wednesday and there was no Starbuck's where we chose as an alternate path. I'm jonesin' for the grandé cafe mocha. Lol!

You already know I'm into joy mode, so why not join me on this glorious start to a new day willing to let you fill it with joyful expression? I know you won't regret taking that chance, and you'll be bolstering the healing nature of your ECS at the same time. Get really good at it and the universe gets really good at making your dreams come true without you even having to do any of that hard work we were trained to believe we needed to exert. Inspired movement doesn't feel like work, it's just fun. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Joy my friends. Get out there and spread it around. I'll do my bit over here on the banks of the mighty Monongahela.

:ciao:

Yes, you are! :)

Good morning!

Why thank you Lady A. Good morning right back at you. :hugs:

:woohoo: ROOTS!!! :yahoo: :slide:

Hey Sue! I've been meaning to say Hello :byebye:
You bring a lot to the table around here and your posts have brightened days for me.
You Rock! Thank You

Well it's about time BraicaBrick! :laughtwo: Thank you for the compliment. I'm a reflection of the membership that surrounds me, which is good news indeed, eh? The community inspires me way beyond what I anticipated when I started my first journal and thought I'd be invisible among the sea of cultivators obviously more talented than I.

:welcome: from the shadows into the joyful light of this collection of happy souls. Good to make your acquaintance. Settle in and get to know the crew. This is my favorite spot, although that's a difficult thing to pin down, considering the many rooms I occupy around here. I look forward to getting to know you better as we journey on. :hugs:

Let's get to it!!

Weekly Update: Veg Shelf - Friday, July 14, 2017

IMG_87034.JPG

Mostly young ones in here, the youngest among them Candy Cane 3 (Day?) Hopefully she'll push her head out any minute now.

IMG_87043.JPG

I see you....... :laughtwo:

IMG_8705.PNG

She'll go into a hempy pot, a 2-ltr to begin with and then something larger. Tead has me wanting to try a piece of 6" wide PVC, cut to a foot in length and capped off. I'm certain it'd increase yield, and this is the daughter's preferred indica. The 2 ltr'll buy me another week to make something happen. Should have kept at least one of the saws, I guess.

Scott's Dark Slide (Day 10) Nothing much going on yet. She's busy growing her roots. She hasn't yet asked for a drink.

IMG_87484.JPG

IMG_87494.JPG

Lamb's Breath (Day 6) Another quiet one.

IMG_87504.JPG

IMG_87526.JPG

Scott's Dark Slide 2 (Day 8) Her first real leaves go mangled by my attempts to free her from the Rapid Rooter, but the new growth looks sound. She'll be fine. She's been getting fed every two days, and will be up to full strength tomorrow.

IMG_87105.JPG

IMG_87116.JPG

CBD Critical Cure 2.2.1 (Day 70) Nothing to drink since July 3rd and showing no signs of needing it. All kit plants got Brixed on Sunday, and they're all due for a DeStress later today, before lights out in the tents.

IMG_87126.JPG

She's an impressive specimen. I'd like to find out why they yellow so when I flip them. It must be the lights.

IMG_87137.JPG

Next up, the Tiny Closet. :ciao:

IMG_86925.JPG

Thin Mint GSC got flipped yesterday and her clone went in the bag.

IMG_86905.JPG

These are a couple shots from yesterday. Thin Mint GSC 1.1 (at Day 1)

IMG_86733.JPG

IMG_86743.JPG

Ultra Dawg 1.1 (Day 11) isn't showing roots from the plug yet, ...

IMG_86883.JPG

...but she is from the stem. :slide: Any day now she'll be ready to transplant. I need more hempy pots. :thedoubletake: And more perlite.

IMG_86893.JPG

Carnival 4.2 (Day 29) She got potted up and fed with 1/8 strength nutrients. I'm using Grow Better nutes with all the new hempies, this one included. Her rough demeanor will soften in time.

IMG_87464.JPG

She's got a touch of frost. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_8747.PNG

On to the big girls.

IMG_86915.JPG

Devil's Carnival (Day 43) No drench since the 3rd, and showing no signs of thirst yet. She's amazing!!' The size of her is astounding, and still she continues to grow.

IMG_86934.JPG

IMG_86943.JPG

IMG_86953.JPG

Need to do something about her gangly profile.

IMG_86964.JPG

Not really sure what's going on with that top, but I'll keep an eye on it.

IMG_86973.JPG

IMG_86984.JPG

Gently cinched up she looks much cleaner.

IMG_86995.JPG

Carnival 4.1 (Day 48) got the same treatment a couple days ago.

IMG_87004.JPG

Still my best-looking specimen.

IMG_87015.JPG

This is Grow Better nutrients in action. I'm certain of it. She's got a vigor about her none of the others express. Can't wait to flip her. About three more weeks.

IMG_87023.JPG

I'll be pulling together what I'll need to close this area off during dark hours. Haven't flowered anything other than autos in here in quite a while. It'll be a trick. Thank goodness it'll only be two months.

Alright, tents are up next. :ciao:

Weekly Update: The Tents - Friday, July 14, 2017

Early flowering

We have three in here now. Thin Mint GSC got flipped yesterday. No room for anyone else until CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 gets shifted on August 4th.

IMG_87145.JPG

Ultra Dawg (Day 70, flip + 12) Bud development continues.

IMG_87155.JPG

The same with CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1. (Day 99, flip + 19) I added her Recharge topping three days ago, in anticipation of her next drench. She had a TransWater drench on Sunday, so it should be in the next couple days. This strain is so drought resistant it's a challenge getting the drenches in. I haven't tried this strain in a hempy yet. Hmmmm.....

IMG_87166.JPG

You see how yellow they become within two weeks of flip? It hasn't effected yield, that I can see. That last plant had monster buds in her.

Thin Mint Cookies (Day 39, flip + 1) Just settling into flowering mode.

IMG_87176.JPG

I love all these lower bud sites on Ultra Dawg.

IMG_87186.JPG

She's holding a sweet profile too.

IMG_87197.JPG

Thin Mint GSC has similar traits.

IMG_87205.JPG

Looking fine. :blunt:

IMG_87214.JPG

CBD Critical Cure has a nice, consistent canopy established.

IMG_87227.JPG

IMG_87232.JPG

I forgot to kick the air on. I need to remember that. I'm just not yet attuned to having an air conditioner running in my bedroom. The humidity's dropped since then to a more reasonable 50% with the air now running.

IMG_87244.JPG

Late bloom

My object lesson in why it's important to turn the air on as soon as I wake the first time.

IMG_87256.JPG

It's now down to 82. My only consolation is that these spikes have been brief in nature, but I'd like to eliminate them entirely. We're into one of our rainiest Julys, and humidity levels are going to be somewhat uncontrollable for a bit. I just checked and the humidity in this tent is down to 42%.

IMG_87264.JPG

Candy Cane (Day 62) She struggles with the heat spikes. It doesn't seem to be slowing down her bloom all that much though. Hopefully I'll learn to keep the environment more consistently within acceptable boundaries.

IMG_87274.JPG

IMG_87293.JPG

IMG_87312.JPG

IMG_87324.JPG

Not much in the way of trichomes yet.

IMG_8733.PNG

IMG_87344.JPG

Carnival 4 (Day 108, flip + 51)

IMG_87354.JPG

She's had a rough go of it and still.......

IMG_87374.JPG

IMG_87383.JPG

IMG_87395.JPG

Frostiness begins in ernest.

IMG_8740.PNG

For all her struggles she pushes through. You gotta respect that. :green_heart:

IMG_87414.JPG

Keeping a safe distance from the light.

IMG_87434.JPG

One last glance........ I switched sides, just for a change. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_87441.JPG

And that, ladies and gentlemen, completes the weekly nickle tour. I hope you found it worth the stop and it leaves you with a smidgen of the joy they bring to me. Feel free to share that joy everywhere you go. Notice how people start gravitating to you the more joy you exude? Yeah.... I like that too.

:battingeyelashes:

Checking my notes I see it's time for the Energy drench for CBD CC 2.1.1.

IMG_87569.JPG

IMG_87557.JPG

I gave her a trim when I did her Recharge too. Makes it easier to water.

IMG_87576.JPG

Looking stellar as always Sue. I've just booked to take Mrs A to Barcelona for a weekend in November. Has absolutely nothing to do with legal weed :slide:

I love the way you two travel. I'll have to have that arrangement with my next husband. Let him be a gypsy at heart. Make me real happy. :cheesygrinsmiley:

HA! That'll teach you to bag up ur clones!
So cool... so strong she'll be pumping roots out the leaves next.

Good evening Tead. :hugs: So good to find you here. You'll be so pleased.

Candy Cane 3 (Day 1)

IMG_87632.JPG

Welcome little one

My plant count is now 5 soil plants and 8 hempies, with 2 more potential hempies growing roots.

Tead, I think you've had a profound influence on the way I grow. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I really like your setups Sue. It seems practical to have so many grow-spaces. I have 3 grow-spaces myself. I have the homemade growroom. That's a room I put grow-film on the walls to reflect the light, I built a frame 100x180x190 cm and I put two 800 watt LED over it. Then I have a tent, 120x120x200 cm. I have 4 200 watt LED lamps in that one. Then I have a small tent 80x80x160 cm with a 400 watt LED.

I use the small tent for vegging. I have around 20 plants in there now. Then I have used the two tents for both vegg and bloom. But I am thinking the way I am doing it - I'm not making the best use of my resources. I need to figure out a way to use my spaces in a way that allows me to make the most of it both yield-wise and when it comes to energy saving. It's very important to me to leave as small as possible footprint on this plantet. I don't want to hurt mother earth with my hobbies.

Am thinking about using a small closet for cloning to free up the tiny tent a little. Then I could use that for vegg and the two other tents for bloom? Then I could harvest aprox once per month. Am extremely open for ideas when it comes to how to make the most out of what I have
