SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Amen to that Night. I should have listened to you earlier, but she was due to come down anyway. Now I know what to look for. And, I'll be more careful about environment.

:circle-of-love: Either way now you know what to look for and you've increased your knowledge on the matter of bud rot/TMV. Always a silver lining :Namaste:

:bongrip: Thanks, I needed that. I'm going to cull her. I'll toss the soil into a bin, keep it moist and use it for the next plant. That Carn 4.1 has a couple nice potential clones I can root, so I'll do that.

Graytail, do you think the soil is problamatic? This was the first I'd heard that the soil could be a concern.

Had some time to think it over - hadn't occurred to me - but yeah, seems like a bad idea to reuse the soil. Bummer. But it's not that much lost soil.

Oooo... Dammit! That's two pots, two 7 gallon pots I have to toss. Thank goodness I didn't do more than put it in its own bin.

Ok, I was expecting you to say that. Thankfully I have a new batch of soil ready to go in about two weeks, and nothing needs planted before that.

Thank you Graytail. :hugs: Sucks, doesn't it? Ah well. I'd hate to infect another plant. This was frustrating enough to have it happen to Carnival.

Well, this was an interesting grow cycle, wasn't it? :laughtwo:

Sorry to hear that. Been looking into reusing soil myself. So far I have made a new batch for every grow, but that's not very economical, is it?

Anybody versed in what causes bud rot?

Air movement. When growing in soup, one must keep the soup moving.

I'm above 80% most of the summer. Massive airflow is the only way I can battle it. I don't spray any water into blooming plants either... that would be a huge invitation to rot.

I have a good 10mph wind on average going on in my bloom room. It's exhausted and exchanged pretty hard as well.

No it's not. Losing a sixth of the available soil is a bite I wasn't anticipating. She's reduced to trash and the soil is on its way out. Can't even donate this batch to the community garden. *sigh*. It goes against my frugal nature.

Ah well....., better to stop the damage. I learned so much in the past week that I couldn't have internalized as deeply without experience. In the end I'm thankful to have nipped it at the bud. We get so attached to them it's kinda nuts, huh? :laughtwo:

It makes hempy more attractive, to be honest. This was what I did yesterday to avoid feeling frustrated. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_86216.JPG

Now it's a simple matter of deciding who to plant. I have a Strawberry Blue seed that's been asking for consideration for quite some time. She may be next in line. Start in hempy and grow the clone in soil.

Good morning everyone:Love:

I need a long walk. I'm headed out to the river trail before any more rain moves in. I'm pretty sure it's predicted for every day for a spell. We sure are lush and green in the valley of the Mighty Mon. :laughtwo:

I wake up in joy and deliberately engage the cosmos in play. Won't you join me today. Stop for a moment and just say it right out loud, big, bold, and filled with childlike anticipation of the fun ahead:

"I'm ready to play!"

Alright. Now get out there and play. Life is such an adventure when you make it a game. :slide:

Catch you later. :ciao:

our first few grows we had no clue what it was until it was to late and it spread.

The weak link of our grows was always environment. What ever it was in the basement was what it was in the grow room.
Humidity, heat, cold, just like outdoors what it is is what it is.
Plus it was actually in a bathroom shower stall, maybe some funky spores lingering around or creeping up from the drain,,,ewwww.

Some of the real fat single cola plants (fatter than a pringles can) had it so deep we didn't even see it until we were manicuring.

We noticed where ever we saw that beige spot, we'd to start checking the plants.
After a while, we knew starting week 7 to pull the plants out and inspect real good. That's when it was usually the first signs of the beige spot. Catching it early enough to only loose a bud or two.

And I learned rather than grabbing a bud with my hand and spreading a bud open to inspect, to just grab a leaf and pull it a little to spread the bud, Less finger contact to spread spores.

a little hard to see in the pic, but when you see it in person, you'll know what I mean

Had that few times outdoors, was main reason I started indoors. It was always the biggest buds.

Hoping everyone is having a great week ..

Hate that you lost all of the good soil you have worked on. :( But I'll agree that isn't worth the risk to keep it.

The distraction method works wonders! I'm a firm believer in it and use it frequently. :laughtwo: DH bought two more buckets yesterday that I can turn into hempies. NL has already grown since moving into the hempy bucket yesterday, so I want to experiment with more. :)

I haven't checked out your yard since you started hempies. You're gonna like this experience. You already understand bottled nutrients. I came into it with no nute knowledge at all. I expect you'll catch on quickly.

Let me go check out your garden now. :hugs:

Thanks Sue! It seems really easy so far, and my NL plant loves the new hempy bucket. I couldn't believe how much bigger it was this morning in comparison to the NL I left in the fabric pot with coco. The coco gal might get jealous, guess I should hurry up making more hempies.

I'm having what appears to be an ocular migraine. This has never happened to me before. I'm not prone to headaches at all, and I've certainly never experienced anything this bizarre in my entire life. I'd say it's the left eye, and the disturbance is wonderously beautiful, if not more than slightly distracting.

It started out of the blue just a few minutes ago. Reading up online, I can expect this to pass within half an hour. I can't figure out what might have caused it. The only thing out of the ordinary was the Ranier cherries I've overindulged in, but that's nothing new. I'm not having any pain, just the most beautiful designs swirling and pulsating around the field of vision.

Let me try a few hits of some Carnival I have sitting here. Hmmm..... I'm not one to be stressed either, although I did lose sleep hours this week. Might be time to stop doing that, eh? :battingeyelashes:

Ouch! I'd so much rather reach for cannabis. Have you not found a strain that stops them? Thankfully, I don't even get headaches. I live in an atmosphere of joy. When I doubt myself something might get through, but I've a fairly strong grip on that joyful vibration as my default setting. This attitude keeps most stress at bay. Stress=inflammation=pain.

I've been researching migraine lately, trying to gain a greater understanding of the involvement of the ECS and how best to apply cannabis to gain relief. The daughter used to suffer daily pain and enjoyed migraines that laid her up for days. She lived on Tylenol, adverse to trying anything more powerful. How delighted we were to find that taking 4 capsules a day of the CBD Critical Cure infused oil her migraines became the stuff of memory. She's had all of two minor ones since we started her regimen last year.

That ocular disturbance has settled. No other concerns have reared up demanding attention. I appear to be fine. It made me wonder what Peter Max had going on when he did his psychedelic paintings. Lol!

For about 20 years now I have an ocular disturbance that appears 1 to 5 times a year.

For me it is normally clear and a ring something like this.

images62.jpg

It happened once when I was leaving the optometrists office so she quick got me under the lights and gave me an eye exam and saw nothing physical with the eye.

They last for about 1/2 hour. I can't read or drive while they are happening.

There is no pain, I've never had a migraine, and I don't get headaches more than about once every 3 years.

Thats about what I get...although mine are always in the left eye and more or less verticle. They let me know that in about 20-35 min someone is going to hammer nails into my left temple for a day or 2, and I might consider hightailing it home before the onslaught begins :/

I wasn't going to bother saying anything about it but now that it's come up again, I had one last night!

I wasn't sure what Sue was describing when she had hers, but last night I suddenly had a blind spot just to the right of my focus - couldn't see the next word in a sentence until I got to it - along with the same clear squiggly wave of stuff like Rado posted. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Mine just went away - maybe 20 minutes total? No headache, no after effect. But ... when I'd close one eye or another it didn't change, so ... um ... not eye-related, hmmm? :hmmm:

Ok then..... Four of us have the same occurance and only one has pain following. Interesting. Rad, Graytail, that was exactly my experience. And it was my left eye as well mouser. When I closed either eye it didn't go away, although it always stayed oriented to the far left.

The daughter says it's a classic array that preceded migraines she no longer gets. She tells me the lack of migraines is almost as wonderful as the reduction in anxiety. And this plant is illegal why?????

I wouldn't take me as a candidate for stress. Lol! WTH?

I used to get them every couple of weeks and they lasted for a day or 3. Several were bad enough to cause aphasia which mimicked stroke symptoms and scared the poop out of me. Since I started smoking again...albeit very seldom compared to most, they have dropped to about one every 2-3 months. There have been other life changes during this time as well, but I have no trouble giving crfedit where credit is due :)

edit: Other optical effects include reversed tunnel vision (black hole in the center, crystal clear around the edges) and similar to the above...everythig looks like Im seeing it through heat waves on the highway(schlieren)

Ah migraines, they have plagued my existence for the better part of my life. Fortunately with cannabis I can replace the ulcer inducing painkillers. For me the pain starts somewhere in the back of my eye, I only get blurry vision when closing my eyes. Sometimes they brought me to tears before I ever started treating myself with our favorite miracle plant. One weird thing is, I can take as many painkillers as I want, and it will still hurt no matter what, if I go to sleep I will wake up in pain. Sad thing is I never got a diagnosis after many extensive tests so I never had a prescription painkiller, still wouldn't even want one, but can say for sure, strains with a cbd % have helped better my quality of life.

tiny closet redux

Hash Hound stopped and we got the job done. :high-five:

After I got the closet emptied out I was really glad I'd asked him to stop. It turned out to be a two person job after all. Didn't discover until it was clear that the outside wall is cement on brick. We adapted. :cheesygrinsmiley:

As high as we could go and secure enough that I won't ever worry about lights falling.

IMG_86234.JPG

Whoops! Forgot to raise the Carnival.

IMG_86246.JPG

Better. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

IMG_86266.JPG

Plenty of height to play with. Now I can flower both of these girls right where they sit. All I need is another timer.

IMG_86274.JPG

Thank you Hash Hound. :hugs:  It was good to visit. I'm glad we took time to catch a buzz this time. Let's make that a habit. Lol!

I havent had it tested, but my goto is Carnival....supposedly higher in THC. Clears the fog and makes everything clear. (thank you Sue) And I know what you mean about the pain...always there unless you take something to knock yourself out...and still there when you wake up. I have tried the gamut of prescription pain killers and Im not fond of any of them.

I haven't yet tried Carnival, but after seeing how amazing it grows it will for sure be on my next shopping list. I am slowly transitioning from auto's to playing around with photoperiods, takes a little adjustment. This year is the 1st year I ever had tried cloning, and it's been great to keep a good strain around for more then one grow.

Sue

The DDA bongs were just right.

I ate a cap on the way home and feel quite relaxed now.

I need a pick me up and did a few hits of Panama Haze to go scrog my Glueberry.

Here is a link to a guy that does vertical grow I was telling you about.
