SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

That's awesome Sue. One day we are hoping to report similar results from up north.
Thank you for giving us the step by step, we were sooooo lost lol. I'm sure we will get the hang of things but I'm also sure it will be a while before we are comfortable finding our way lol. Thank you again a million times.

Blessed buds to you our guardian Angel!!! :thumb::Love:

You're so welcome. Glad to help. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll catch on to the intricities of the site.

Just dropping by to see how things are going with you. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Blessed buds to you!!!!!

Things are going well, thank you Arctic. I'm trying to cull my belongings back to about 20% of what I started with, and today I made a significant dent in that process when I got my late husband's model train collection donated to a local train club. It's hard not to feel good about that. Moving all that on to the new owners left me more open space. I'm beginning to breathe comfortably in my apartment as it becomes more and more my own space.

Grief was a long and emotionally draining journey. It's refreshing to be seeing the world through my rosey-tinted glasses again. :laughtwo:

 Good for you. Rosy-tinted glasses are always good. Happy view of life :) Keeping things doesn't help..he will always be in your heart and mind and you know that.
And knowing that the new owners LOVE what you gave them is more rewarding than keeping it only because it was his.
I hope I expressed it correctly, it is not meant in a bad way. :circle-of-love:

We're just making the rounds seeing what your up to. Hope all is well with you and yours this wonderful Sunday :-)
How was the pipe resin oil lol you guys had me cracking up and yup I was one of those broke a$$ that smoked the bowl scrapings. Good memories but horrible taste lol.

Blessed Buds our Gaurdian Angel

Haha! I hear that, Arctic Bowl! One of the reasons I started growing is because I'm tired of paying and/or searching for it. Not only have I scraped bowls in the past and smoked that crap, I have recently been re-vaping my collected leftover vaped flower material. Sad, I know, but I'm getting very close to my first harvest and shouldn't have to deal with any of that ever again... if I play it smart. ;)

While I'm here, I want to thank you for starting this thread Sue! I just read the first post and skimmed the rest of the 1st page and will be making it a point to try and catch-up as soon as possible. I love the focus and I hope at some point I can contribute to the cause.

:thanks: :circle-of-love: :thumb:

A repost from my grow journal:

Another month's supply of CBD capsules in the fridge.

image15006.jpeg

I've noticed a change occurring with the oil. The original capsules were made before I started keeping the oil in refrigeration to ward off having it go rancid. As I made more capsules that oil first has to come out and get back to a liquid form. The bottle I'm using had been through that thawing process twice now, today being the third time. Each time it goes through that modified freeze-thaw the lecithin is breaking down the components and distributing them in a finer mix. You can see evidence of this in the capsules. The one on the left is from the previous batch, the one on the right from the bottle that thawed out today.

I'm taking the other bottles of oil out today to thaw and then I'll put them back in the fridge. BadKat had mentioned in one of her many posts that she freezes and thaws her CCO in the freezer multiple times to force this breaking down and dispersment. Her contention has been that all that work on the part of the lecithin only makes the oil more bioavailable, since every tiny molecule ends up coated with the lecithin. I think I agree with her.

It'll be nice to get these theories verified in a lab someday.

With the ability of some vape devices to adjust temp and time, is the science so exact that you could use a temp/time profile and be selective of particular terpenes or groups thereof you Want to consume at various temperatures? Could you develope a possible optimum heat/time profile depending on the vaporization for certain terpene profiles and therefore affects a particular strain has to offer?

Anchutz,

Welcome to the site.

You defiantly will get a different vape at low temps than high ones. However, you are only going to be able to restrict what vaporizes above the temperature you set. Put another way, if you set a temperature, then all compounds that vaporize at or below that temp will be in the vapor.

I am not sure what you are referring to with time adjustments.

It is a nice group here. Stick around a while. Sue will say hi soon.

:welcome: to 420 Magazine Anchutz. I trust youre finding your way around? If we can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to ask.

The science of vaping is growing. We already know the boiling point of the terpenes. If your cannabis is tested you know the terpene profile and can plan your vaping routine. We'll be doing what you suggest before you know it. Terpenes are the future of cannabis businesses, as cajuncelt's fond of pointing out. I tend to agree with him.

Can't wait until we can try making these, looks like fun :-) great job Sue, great job!!!!

Thank you Arctic, and they're so easy to make everyone should at least try. Quite frankly, they've changed my daughter's life.

My friend with MS like me has a dachshund that has developed diabetes and seizures. We are going to try an olive oil extraction on him. She used the same for 6 months with her cat with cancer. I will let you know how it works. :circle-of-love::peace:
there are sites out there referring on canna meds for pets

I have some Olive oil already made. I think we will start with 5 drops (or 1/4 ml). I found this batch of oil, 1 tsp is a good dose for me. So figuring on the difference in weigh (and the the dog has no tolerance built up) that seems like a good starting point and work up or down from there. :peace:
