Surfbuddy's GLR 2L DWC-H Coco Lowryder - Big Bud - BubbleGum - Northern Lights

Interesting development... my tap water now comes out at pH 7.1 instead of 8.9. I am psyched! I thought maybe I was going nuts, so I double checked with both my reference solutions, pH4 came out on my meter at 4.1 and 7 came out at 6.9.

Otherwise things are going well. The big bud clone that wasn't LST'd stretched to the height of the bigger lowryder already and has almost caught up to the larger plants.

Flushed res on the biggest bigbud with plain water, and fed plain water only. gonna see how she drinks tonight since she didn't drink much last night. pH has stablilized in all the 2L's.

The bubblegum had bugs in the soil crawling everywhere, so it went outside. Hopefully it doesn't freak out too much with the light switching. I also hope the bugs haven't found their way to the coco in the 2L's.

On the veg side the seedlings still moving right along at ppm 950 BPN's crazy growth and show no signs of nute burn. The stacked kush already has roots a few inches into the res.

Got some new airstones for the ones that were kind of duds- just little mini's.

I'm rolling plans over in my head about how I'm going to attach all of these seedlings to a mother plant. The tricky part for the supergraft/octomom is going to be finding similar sized stems... At first I thought I would attach them all to the BigBud plant, but I think that the NL has a more robust root structure, so I may end up using her instead...

Well heck, if X and OMM are here, then I see no reason not to sub up, lol.
Seriously though, its pretty awesome to see so many people getting great results using BPN, and you're doing a bang up job wiht your plants buddy:bravo:
I thought it was just coincidencidental that most BPN plants looked so healthy and vigorous, but there's litterally a kind of glow they get on this stuff.
Good looking grow bud, subbed:Namaste:

Thats crazy how your tap water is comming out at a much lower ph than before! Mine is comming out at about 8 right now. Sounds like it is good to be very careful. I have it down to one drop of ph down and I am set per gallon. That would make a big difference!!

I am very impressed with how fast your new seedlings are growing. That is the kind of growth I would expect in hydro. Very good!!!:goodjob:

i was wondering what was up with my meter
i notice the drop in ph in the water for a few res changes now
add bloom nutes and like under and hae to go ph up
before this drop i never had to add anything but nutes for bloom

Dude, all I can say is you have some healthy lookin plants there!!
+reps to you for nice plants my friend!!
Thanks for the reps A1!

LOL, thanks for hopping on Quix! It's nice to have experienced growers following along to help out and give those boosts of confidence and advice when the going gets rough... I have to agree, that BPN stuff is awesome! my PPM's are pretty high, but the plants seem to love it instead of burn for it.

Thanks Closetfarmer! I'm following tesmp's new seedling routine, feeding way early and hard. Amazing. With the GH stuff I burned my seedlings when they were smaller...

Don't forget to recalibrate it every 4-6 weeks... also as X pointed out, something goes on during flower that causes pH to go down..

Gonna open the tent to see what's up!

UPDATE:
We have amber! At least I think so. Gonna start flushing the midgit lowryder. Perhaps you all can help. To me, looks like< 5% amber now all on the leaves, none on the buds. This showed flower while I was on a trip, but I guesstimate it was at the last week of april so we're at about 7 weeks now.
low-amber2DSC00229.jpg

This looks like it has some amber too... or am I seeing things?
low-amber1DSC00230.jpg

But the top looks like it has no amber

Clone moms were getting bushy, so I tried to swap grafts, a Big Bud onto Northern Lights and vice-versa. While I was at it, and more the impetus, the Liberty Haze was ready to be topped again, so both braches came off and were cloned. I also decided to high defol the liberty haze.

I didn't notice any amber in the top bud either. The trichs look like they are nice and milky though. And there sure is a lot of them! That looks like it is going to be some potent smoke! :goodjob:

i had a clone and decided to give it the rapid growth schedule from bpn, it was only 4 nodes high, these 2 clones where the same size, the 1 i gave rapid growth schedule the other i gave veg 1 schedule, now the one i gave the rapid growth to at full strength is 8 nodes high and about 7 inches, the clone i give veg 1 to is 4 nodes high and about 5 inches, so i wonder how much these plants can actually take, i think i might get one of my clones and run a few tests with the bpn, see how much these plants can actually take before they show nute burn, but it seems the clone given the higher dose of bpn grew twice as fast as the clone on veg 1, so as far as i can tell, if the clones are taken from a plant well into veg or the start of 12-12 then they should be able to take the nutes at rapid growth, so im wondering if giving them rapid growth is making them grow a lot faster, because thinking about it these clones are from the mother that has also been fed the higher dose so the clones are used to this higher dose,

im not clued up about all the chemistry of this and nutrient make up or ph and ppm, so im trying to learn what i can, but from what i have done over the last week, the clone given the higher dose is twice as high and has twice as many nodes, its that big i have had to move it out of the small veg cupboard where i start seeds and clones and now its in the veg room, the clone of the same age taken on the same day is still in the cupboard, so either this clone rooted quicker and grew quicker or it was the bpn that made the difference

I would NOT go straight to Crazy Growth for new cuttings growing roots. Yes, the PLANTS can handle the stronger nutes, but the ROOTS are essentially babies, and therefore VERY delicate. I usually do plain water during the first stages of rooting, then when they poke through the starter (rockwool in my case) I go to Seedling for a week, then Veg1 for a week or two, depending on how they respond to the nutes. From there, if they tell me they need more I go straight to Crazy Growth from Veg1.

Hey DP, thanks for stopping by. Sounds like the BPN made *some* difference, but was everything else the same? Were both clones as vigorous when you took them? I'm just going by teSmp's seedling method and following it word for word and ppm for ppm. Working great so far. See update below.

Both instances were BPN, just at different strengths.

Thanks Chronic! I feel like I'm overdoing the updates... but I'm trying to keep track of when what happens with transplanting, cloning, repotting, etc. and I keep doing shit every day LOL

Never can you overdo the updates! Keep'em coming, buddy! Loving the pics, too

Grafting! That is something I have yet to do in hydro. I had been thinking about it, but it looks like you beat me to the punch. Good luck!

In all, it looks like you've got a pretty good grow going. I love how it's all coming together for ya! Keep'em green, brother!

Thanks Closet Farmer! I'm exited for that one, although it will barely yield 1/8.

I know, almost every single grower who knows what the hell they are doing says do NOT nute the babies before 3rd or 4th node, but this is a new method, pioneered by someone teSmp knows, who is guiding him, and I'm following along about a week behind. It's crazy how much nutes I gave the girls so early, but look at the pics below for results... no sign of nute burn and some crazy growth. Seems like they get used to it early then can hack it?

Thank you sir. Update below :)

Yup, supposed to take 4-5 days to set, but things are looking grim so far... but I'm giving it a chance. my fingers are crossed (and so are my plants LOL)
Thanks for the support! p.s. I just re-read your cloning guide to remind me how often to spray them.. Thanks!

UPDATE:
Day 42 12/12 day 38 Flower
Some photos today. Here is a random Big bud side branch tip:

The Big Bud clone that was not LST'd and is indeed stretching. It seems to be slowing down after I pulled some fans. It's tip is an inch or two below canopy height.

The seedlings fed with teSmps jacked feeding schedule are rocking. They are bigger than the liberty haze that was started two weeks earlier and have better root systems. Of course I topped the LH twice already, but the undergrowth on these two is even bigger than what would be the same nodes on the LH.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. I see no leaf growth when I go up to Crazy Growth, but the roots are going pretty well by then, so I'm quite comfortable hitting them strong at about week 3 from cut.

here's the difference.
2 or 3 weeks after cut, roots showed, but very little growth up top, and they look a little sick. They're crying for nutes.

And now, after Crazy Growth strength with BPN and on the lighting with GLR

Thanks for looking, yes, I started my journal about 10 days ago or so, the smaller plant to the left I believe is a lemon skunk, I messed up when I did the 1st transplanting of these plants and forgot to label them again, this is my 1st grow. I do believe the larger ones are the Big Bang, or purplewreck, not sure which is which. Please check out my journal, I'll be posting updated pics tonight. I've been running my lights at night because of the heat here. Last night I placed 2 UVA 10 watt lights close to the buds, this morning they appear denser, and sticky to the touch. Can't wait, just a few weeks more to harvest. Good luck/grace
